A Great Pictorial History of the Automobile!
What an amazing collection of pictures detailing the history and evolution of the American automobile. The text in this book is basic support for this massing of pictures of factories that most probably have never heard of, like REO, Overland, Oakland, Marion, Queen, Chalmers, DeVaux-Hall, Ruxton and a great many others, all American companies. At the height of the auto industry boom, prior to the Great Depression, there were over 1,900 manufactures of American automobiles. Also, before the Great Depression, one out of every six people were employed by the auto industry. This book is for the person that knows a great deal about automobiles and would like to go back to the days of Henry Ford, Billy Durant, Walter Chrysler, John and Horace Dodge, Ransom Olds, Louis Chevrolet, Henry Leland, David Buick and all of the other greats that started a passion that would change America and the world forever.

The Greatest Story Never Told
I don't even know where to begin with a story of this caliber. Before this book I only liked hello kitty, but now Badtz is the man. I hate to reveal the plot or anything like that but on page 8, I was completely shocked when Badtz was in a plane. Who says Penguins can't fly?? Was hello Kitty ever in a plane??? Hello No!!! And if you thought the plane ride was amazing wait until the ending, a complete shocker. All in all this is an amazing book with all the twists and turns you would expect from a story 10 or even 500 times it's size.

The Balladeer of the Mountains
In the true form of his ancestors, Byron Herbert Reece sang the songs of the Mountains. His reach into nature and the abundant life around him is clearly evident. Every poem flows like a melody on the wind. He was not trying to impress or to even publish. He simply wrote down his thoughts and feelings after a hard days work at the plow. In the small cabin, in a cove in Choestoe, the music of the mountains came to light - a light that would shine around the world.

Just the Thing
This book is "just the thing" for talented high school or college age students who need basic ear training. The premise is that students don't just learn to match one pitch; they learn to put a "do-re-mi" with any starting pitch immediately, and quickly add the "fa-sol". I've had success with several students already.

Free At Last
Byron Huff has discovered a gem. His simple instruction to golfers is to stop thinking and start playing. I have taken 5 strokes off my game by just walking up tho the shot, looking down the fairway, picking a taget and "actually" seeing the ball flying through the air to that spot. It still amazes me that without thinking of how to hit the shot, I can execute such good strokes and produce some excellent results. I highly reccommend this book to all golfers, especially those who have a taken a lot of lessons and read all the books. Get free of the mechanics and at last play golf.

Sit back and relax
This is a great resource book written through actual experiences of the authors. Great pictures and references. The book shares information that is not readily available through tourist information. It makes you want to get out your bike and ride along with nature. One does not have to be biking to enjoy the Bed &Breakfast establishments visited in the book.

Great introduction to applied statistics by a great teacher
Rupert Miller was the best instructor I had as a Stanford graduate student. This book came out of lecture notes that he produced for the required applied statistics course in the Statistics Department at Stanford. I took both quarters of that course. He was an excellent lecturer and writer. The book emphasizes practical aspects of the analysis of variance and deals with issues of robustness and modifications when the basic assumptions fail. It is set out in a very logical manner and deals with ANOVA and regression. It deals with transformations and is unique in its treatment of ratios. Discussion of departures from model assumptions is both useful and insightful. The book was published in 1986 prior to Miller's death and was updated by Brown posthumously in 1996. Brown worked closely with Miller on biostatistical applications at Stanford University. Other related books that Miller wrote or helped with included the Biostatistics Casebook, Survival Analysis (both published by Wiley) and Simultaneous Statistical Inference (published in its second edition by Springer-Verlag).

True-Love, A review of B.H. Reece's poem.
This poem is one that is written from an unusual point of view. The point of view is of Judua, the man who betrayed Jesus. Mr. Reece he perfectly placed his own view of Jesus aside and took on the outlook of the man who delivered Jesus into the hands of the crusifers. Judus did so only for a few peices of silver. The poem starts as a man telling a story of his betrayal, then it continues to show a man's remorse and guilt. This poem has many different bible references to the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. I would suggest this poem for any religious reader. It will really open your eyes to the views of Judus.

BYRON HERBERT REECE 1917-1958
I know first hand the hardships of Byron Herbert Reece. The author has done a great job in conveying his life and setting somethings right about Hubs poetry.
Herbert Reece has inspired many of us who have had the privilege
of growing up with the knowledge that he was a part of our family. My mother was always so proud of him. Because of him it was instilled into us that we too might accomplish the art of writing.
Thanks Mr. Jackson for writing the book!!
