no new material
this book does not cover any new material learned in even a BAD high school trigonometry course and ninth grade algebra other than polar cooridinates and parametric equations. do not use this above the high school level. there is ALOT of stuff you already know. don't use this book even for a review unless you dont know ninth grade math. the topics of functions are so obvious, yet he covers them over about 7 chapters.

Disappointed
I was primarily disappointed with the lack of rigor. But it has more pretty pictures than math textbooks I remember from high school, in case you need that sort of thing to keep your (or your students') interest. I would rather have paid less for a black-and-white text that doesn't hurt your arms to hold up to read (the dimensions of the book also make that awkward). There are nice little blurbs about various relevant/famous mathemeticians. The book strives to give a lot of real-world examples, and for that I give it 3 stars instead of 2. If you are looking for a book with that kind of emphasis, you may find this to be just what you want. I have to agree with an earlier reviewer that my highschool trig and precalc course were much more detailed and had more depth.

PS: I am still searching for an errata sheet.

Clear Writing, Great Examples and Problems
I have taught from this text for 3 years now. It is excellent. My students like the text and find the explanations helpful. I would recommend this text to any teacher who is hunting for a good preparation for calculus.

Save your money!
There are many great books on marriage out there. This is not one of them.

Insightful
I'd recommend this book because it gives helpful ideas for a Christian marrage. Books like these are difficult to find. I think it's a great reference for any marriage.

Just an ordinary accounting book
The book is overall quite good as an introductory text for accounting, but there are other books out there, equally good, that come a lot cheaper.

No frills -- but no lack of typos
There is certainly a market for a lower-cost alternative to the many glossy textbooks on marketing research. This book was obviously intended to close this gap. It gives a good overview of the field at the level of an introductory course, from research design and measurement issues to data analysis, hypothesis testing, and the presentation of reports. It contains 16 short cases on various topics of marketing research, and is complemented by a CD-ROM with data files pertaining to these cases. The files are mainly in the SPSS format, one of the most widely used software packages for statistical analysis which is fully compatible with other applications under Windows. The book as such is a useful introduction for undergraduate classes or for self-study, and the research cases are valuable and original learning tools. At a lower price than most competitors, this no-frills book without color illustrations largely fulfills the same purpose as many other textbooks.

So far so good, one would say -- were it not for the numerous typographical mistakes, particularly in the chapters on sampling methods and on data analysis. The text was evidently written in Word and simply reproduced by the printing house. But there was no thorough editing. Since Word comes with a formula editor, it is regrettable that most formulas on pp. 169ff., 229 etc., contain typos, from missing equation signs to missing sigmas, misplaced subscripts, etc. At least these pages make little sense. It is hoped that a future edition of this otherwise useful textbook will correct these flaws.

Not too good.
The book had okay stories, but it was embellished too much. Plus, the pictures were pretty cheap, they were all really dark and fake.

This book was so-so
The stories did not quite ring true. It could have used a little more detail.

needs thorough revision and update
I agree with the reviews on this book...this book is really a bad choice for an ADT class ....there are no complete code examples, everything is in parts, and the author does not explain how to fit these different code pieces together...apart from that if being a novice I could detect programmatic errors within the first 4 chapters, that shows how poorly written this text is...someone recommended "Data-Abstraction and Problem Solving in C++" by Carrano, and boy, it was a life saver....the carrano text is probably the best written ADT book available.....

Intro to Data Structures for an intermediate programmer
If you're an intermediate C++ programmer, then this book presents data structues in a very clear way with some of the very best graphics I've ever seen in a textbook. Each chapter concludes with very good exercises, and a thoroughly described advanced reading lists (excellent feature). Probably not detailed enough for an advanced student, but I really enjoyed studying with this book. Thank you very much to the authors!

a well-writen introductory book on data structures
Personally ,as an introductory book on data structures , i found the book superb . First ,because its succeeds in giving incentives to study the subject-matter through interesting and concrete examples. And secondly attention has been put in making reading as easy as possible through drawings and coloring text. Lastly the author "promotes" nicely the concept of the "structure" in programs and shows it's importance throught the text.

A Genuinely Bad Book
If you are buying this book because it is required for your course, I strongly suggest you cancel out of the class and find another that uses a better book. If you must take the course with this book, by sympathy to you. Dugopolski's College Algebra and Trig is vastly superior.

This book is full of confusing and inadequate explanations. It is infuriating in places. Typical is the sample solution on p. 544 to a system of 3 linear equations. It is a series of minimially explained steps that is a devil to follow, and does not emphasize the basic underlying technique of eliminating variables.

It relies on graphing calculators. This is fact, not criticism, since such reliance is in the area of personal preference. Some like to use calculators as an aid, other's feel it hinders learning.

There are much better books on the market!

This book is hot!
I am very intelgent. I am a geneys. I know math much well. I read book. This book is extremely flammabul. It hurt you. I know becuse i sneese on it. My sneese in fire. I am a draqon. I burn it. It no good for genyes. The book is hot. Don't buy it.

Precalculus with Limits - Student's Review
Precalculus with Limits, unlike other precalculus books, easily teaches and reviews the basic mathematic background needed for further studies in the area of Calculus. The book contains many examples and less theoretical explanations - briefly outlining how to solve certain problems and then practicing those theories with many examples. Additionally there are plenty examples for economics students, engineering students and students of physics. Simply a great book!
