Very relevant to today's conflicts

As I sit here watching the early missle/air war against Baghdad in March, 2003, I want to contact the news broadcasters to give them information that I learned from this book.

I read this book 20 years ago from the library and have wanted to re-read it ever since. (I'm going to order a copy today.)

Well written. Very informative. Highly recommended.

Perfectly detailed and written book on a forgotten subject.
Have you ever bought a book because you were interested in the subject matter, only to realize upon reading the first chapter that the writer does not know how to entertain? If you have, then brace yourself, because this book is NOT like that. The author filled each chapter with relevant insights into the characters that make up the events. Not once was I overpowered by facts alone. I have read highly praised novels that lacked the emotion, suspense, etc, that this book displays. To top it off, the author writes with unbelievable knoweldge of a subject that is too often overlooked: the implications of the First Battle of Britian.

Excellent historical volume on WW1 heavy bombing
I have the original hardback edition of this book, and found it to be very well researched and written. Besides the history of the great German biplane bombers, it explains the frustration of England in developing a defense against this new type of warfare. Also, the fight in the English government to establish an independant Air Force is also discussed. An interesting read for history students or aviation enthusiasts.

What is the name of this book? : The riddle of Dracula and other logical puzzles
Published in Unknown Binding by Prentice-Hall ()
Author: Raymond M. Smullyan
Amazon base price: $

A Fantastic Logic Puzzle Book
Raymond Smullyan introduces the readers to simple logic problems and then starts to grow them more complex. Answers to the puzzles are provided with explaination, but Smullyan's more recent books clearly dig deeper. However, if you want some good knight/knave and dracula puzzles, this is a good place to start to learn about Godel. I recommend also obtaining: "Lady or the Tiger? And Other Logic Puzzles Including a Mathematical Novel That Features Godel's Great Discovery"

Read this book and check if you think logically.
Don't read it at night as it would make you sleepless. The riddles are repeating themselves much. If you are a logical person, it won't take long to bore you. If you are not, it is a good exercise to train you to think in a logical way. The name of the book is paradoxical but the riddles are not, luckily. Memorize some interesting puzzles and test your friends would make you popular in peer group, I am sure.

Who knew fun could be so ... logical.
Raymond Smullyan has created an incredible set of stories designed to help the logically challenged enjoy his kind of intellectual pursuit. Each of the stories becomes progressively more entangled and continuously more engrossing. From tales of knights and knaves, to the final question, Smullyan knows how to challenge logical thought processes while engaging the imagination. If you want to expand your brain, or just want to stump and stymie your friends, then you must read this book.

Problem Solver
Wi-Fi solves a lot of problems for us at home. Once we got cable internet, we could use the Wi-Fi station to hook everyone into it. It seems just as fast for all of us as for one. We only have one printer, but now everyone can print to it. And the phone line is available instead of being tied up by the modem in the evening, which is when everyone wanted to use it. We're never going back.

Wi-Fi Home Networking by Raymond Smith
What a helpful book! I abhor manuals because of all the techno-language. This book is direct and easy to understand.

Excellent Home Networking Primer
I'm glad I got this book because I didn't know you could do all that stuff that he talks about. It's pretty simple the way he puts it and not too technical to read. It's not about rocket science. I set up my network at home and it works well. You can tell this guy's done it for real. Definitely worth the money.

A GREAT HISTORIC BOOK
A BOOK SUCH AS This One is very important.it's ashame the way History is Taught at Many Schools especially when it comes To Black History Month? a Book Such as this Reflects Strong Contributions by Many NEGROES.it's a Must.Very Informative.

Great Book For Everyone
This book is filled with information about African-Americans and their accomplishments that every person should know. Do you know which U.S. President established the Office of Minority Affairs? Who was the first African-American to earn a Ph.D.? What state east of the Mississippi was the first to give African-American women the right to vote, in 1913? These are just some of the questions you'll find in this volume. I especially liked having each set of answers on the same page as the questions. The author also includes a helpful bibliography for further study. Highly Recommended.

Excellent Book! Required reading for all!!!!
Outstanding in the way it is put together. Must reading in general for all African-Americans and specifically younger African-Americans. Excellent job, way to go!!

Fast Current
Acappella Blue is both action-packed, smart, and timely.
It has real momentum - the kind you like from a
who-dunnit-and-why book. Some insights into how the
government agencies we pay for may work. Its a great read!
Like swimming in a fast river.

Creative and Complex
The writer added some new twists to the standard mystery tale. The story is creative and complex making you think all the way through about what has happened, what is happening, and what could happen. It will keep you up at night because you won't want to stop. Enjoy

Fast and Furious
I like the pace of this book. There are a lot of characters introduced early, but it was fun trying to keep up with them. The book moves quickly. It's a short book, but full of action, adventure and suspense.

When Harris Churchill disappears, I wasn't sure what to make of it, especially when another important character winds up dead. When Harris is considered a prime suspect, I started to wonder if Dutch Dantley had succeeded in his experiment beyond his wildest dreams.

The ending kept me on the edge of my seat and I was sorry when the book ended. I hope Raymond Michaels has more coming because it was a good first effort. (I presume it's his first because I've never heard of him before.)

The life of a great man.
In 1941 the United States of America started fighting the expansionism of the Japanese Empire during World War II. We needed a man who could win the war, save as many soldiers as possible and make the American people proud of their choice. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt made a smart choice. He chose General Douglas McArthur, the man would win World War II, make Japan the economic powress it has become, and charmed the American people with his great voice after Korea. This is the life of a man, who many people think, he should have been God, this is the life of General Douglas McArthur.

THE FINEST REVIEW OF MAC ARTHUR
Manchester has produced a book that covers the entire life of the controversial five star general, from his infancy to his death, in the finest of detail and in a lively literary style. - If you want to know about MacArthur, this is the book for you. The author very carefully presents facts about the general and lets you the reader make up your mind on where the truth lies. Manchester does not appear to "take sides" in this book; he does not take the general and make him a god, nor does he denigrate what the general has done. He presents the many sides of this mysterious general and lets you, the reader, put it all together which is not difficult, since Manchester provides you the tools to do it: plenty of rich detail, plenty of quotes, excerpts of memos and messages, much detail on his private family life. Again, Manchester does not tell the reader what to think. For example, with the fall of the Philippnes, it seems that the general has made up his mind to stay and, along with his family, expects in a matter-of-fact way to commit suicide rather than be taken prisoner by the Japanese. You wonder about his wife and child, but Manchester doesn't tell you what they want to do: he lets them speak. - An excellent biography and significant historical account. Probably the best ever on MacArthur whether you like the general or not.

Brilliantly written and inspirational. It is living history
The book is alive and very interesting. It is like reading a newspaper and not a rendition of the facts about a dead man's life. It is inspiring to read how the general overcame every obstacle to achieve his goals. I have read the book more than once.

configs configs configs!
I'm actually very impressed with the way this book is written. It's probably the first book I've read that includes a lot of configuration examples. There aren't many books out there that you can use to study for CCIE Security. I've used the MCNS book for my lab, but it's pretty outdated. This book is way better! Whether you are studying for CCIE Security written, preparing for CCIE Security lab, or just want to master your skills with Cisco Network security, I'd recommend this book. I happened to pass CCIE Security Lab (#7927) year and a half ago. I bought this book to review my security knowledge. My favorite part is the Lab at the end of the book. It's not the same as the real lab, the lab in the book is actually a lot harder.

CCIE Practical Studies: Security
Two Thumbs Up!!
Finally, a practical guide for CCIE Security! I haven't finished the whole book yet, but what I've seen so far is right on. I've been looking for lab scenarios to practice for the lab and I got them. The CD that ships with the book is worth getting on its own, but the book text is an excellent reference as well.

I have passed my written exam. Having this book will definitely increase my chance to pass the lab.

A excelent path to get the CCIE Security Certification.
The book covers basically all key areas involved on the Security network environment that is important to be prepared to the CCIE Lab Exam as well for the professionals on Security area. Excellent in content and it brings a real world exercises that links the theory to a practical hands-on scenarios. Execellent buy.

Tin Can Sailor: Life Aboard the Uss Sterett, 1939-1945

I Finally Got It!
I have read many books on destroyers during WWII. This is the first book that put me on the deck during a night surface battle, and I could SEE what was going on. There is no hype, no "I was a hero" type of comments, just the facts. You can feel the pain he felt when he saw a fellow sailor dead on the deck. It almost brought me to tears.
If you want to SEE what life on a destroyer was like in WWII, this is a MUST READ book!

An Excellent Navy Adventure!
Like a previous reviewer, my father also served on a WWII Pacific destroyer. This book helps to capture what life on a destroyer must have been like. Interestingly, it follows the life and action of this ship from it's beginning in the shipyard; through its exciting sea battles, and then to her decommissioning. Thankyou Capt. Calhoun for a book well done.

Tin Can Sailor
The book had special meaning for me in that my father was aboard the Sterett from October 1941 to October 1943. Although he had often explained many of the events aboard ship, the connection for me between the war and it's lasting affect on the men who served, was not realized until I read the gripping tales recounted by Captain Calhoun. In a well researched history enhanced with the credibility of first hand knowledge, Captain Calhoun related the Sterett's experience. Every child, grandchild, and great grandchild of every sailor who ever served during WW II on any ship of any kind should read this book and well-up with the pride of having known, or have in their lineage the brave men who stood in harms way to preserve our freedom. My regret is that I had not read it prior to my father's passing on December 10, 1999 and let him know how proud of him I am. Thank you Cal wherever you are.
