Too Lovely to Miss!
Gina has lost a mom, and a dad. Mom lives with her new husband, and though Gina lives with her dad, he's not really there either.
Jamie's mother is gone as well, and his Father seems to have abondoned them to the elements.
Both begin to search for their lost fathers, and though both live in drastically different worlds, find those worlds colliding in a most fantastic tale. A tale that includes a gold ring, a magic tree, and a shape-changing bear.
As beautiful as branches twining together, this is a story wonderfully told.

Long Ago When I Was Young
Published in Hardcover by Dial Books for Young Readers (1991)

The book of my childhood.
This book was one of my favorites when I was a kid. I never read it in English, I did not even speak English back then. I read it in Polish and now I want to see if it's as good in English as well. It's a book that makes one want to be at the places that are described, see and feel, touch and live with people who are characters of this book. I read this book hundreds times and I still grabbed it tonight, even though I am already twenty. And it still takes me into the author's childhood. Not only that, it takes me into my own childhood as well. It is truly an amazing book.
Miles Davis
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (1999)
Amazon base price: $18.10
Average review score:
Must read for all jazz lovers
Mr. Crisps's biography of Miles Davis stands out not only for its incisiveness, which is unusual in biographies of jazz musicians, but also for its deft treatment of the musicians from whom Davis drew his inspiration, including such unforgettable (though all too often forgotten) greats like Jeffrey Ellenberger. How refreshing it was to read about Davis's assimilation of Ellenberger's groundbreaking "Cathedral Parkway Blues" and "Suite 5F" in his later work.

Great Review Book For BC Calculus
My teacher had us buy this book at the begining of the year, and she assigned problems from it, and is has been invaluable. The problems it gives are not your standard textbook plug-in-the formula questions. There are some of those, but most of the questions require some thinking and an actual understanding of Calculus. Even though I switched teachers, I still used the book to help review for tests, and it has worked great. This is a great buy for anyone who needs a supplement of questions to help study from during the school year for BC calculus. The only negative about the book is that it lacks detailed explanations. It only gives the answers and also gives a cross reference of questions by topics.
Royal Game: Chess for Young People

A Classic Gem
An entertaining, painless yet thorough introduction to chess for young people. The King describes the basics of the game and introduces each piece, who describes his own moves. Elementary strategy and several simple games are included. Very well done -- I enjoyed it thoroughly as a child!
