The Best Book In History!
The book has so much action and excitment. Curtain Going up is about Peggy, Jack, Harry and her mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, Aunt Maud, etc. The reason I liked this book is because there was so much adventures in it. President Roosevelt was even their friend!

An Enticing Beginning
Young readers ages 9-12 will connect immedaitely with this book. It starts at the turn of the century - 1899! Readers can easily relate and remember where they were at the turn of the 21st century. It provides an immediate connection with the characters in the book. The story is easy to follow. The characters are members of an extended family. A helpful family tree with photographs and dates makes it easy to "see" the characters as they are mentioned and keep the family members organized. I like the way the authors casually throw in historical items, figures, and inventions from the period 1899 - 1903. Sketches and photographs of horse drawn fire wagons, a gramophone, automobiles, and an ice cream freezer support the text. The book does not go into depth on these historical things and people. It did however, peak my curiosity to find out more. I found myself researching on my own! A visit from President Teddy Roosevelt shows how this U.S. President as a real person and father and not only a world leader. The family is a wealthy family of actors but this status is downplayed. This is a great book for young readers to find out what life was like for children in one family at the turn of the last century - a mere 100 years ago. Teachers will find this book a great read aloud to make this period in history more realistic.

My son picked it out at 6 months old and still loves it at 1
He loves to look at the clear pictures and slide the apples back and forth. He has spent a few days carrying the book everywhere. I was disapointed that there wasn't anything to touch or smell, but Aedon doesn't mind. One great bonus, he has almost destroyed the original "Pat the Bunny", but this one has taken tons of teething abuse and still looks great.

Five Red Apples, Pat the Bunny
The simple storyline, the red apples in the illustrations and the red plastic apples on the counting rod make this book the perfect introduction to number concepts. The curve of the number rod helps the apples slide easily, yet stay in place. By limiting the number concepts to sets up to five, interest remains high and avoids the ennui that occurs from overload of information. Most books develop language skills, so it is a thrill to have such an appealing book to teach numbers.

Need your Faith to be " kicked up to notches unknown ?"
"The Gaping Door..." offers a convincing argument in the quest after Immutable Truth and Love. It describes the process through which human reason can be perfected: it discusses the existence of evil and its functions, the meaning of suffering, conception of true greatness of the soul, divine mercy and concept of genuine love. Everthing exists, preserves its being and is conceived by the power of God, and human life is regarded as a supreme gift of God's inimitable love. Disbelief in God robs one from the incentives for moral and educational improvements, from passionate aspiring and from the need to love. Without God, there is no possibility of being perfected and hence, there can neither be prospect of true progress nor true existence.

Dr. Kardas' work challenges the intellect, lifts the spirit and revives the soul... readers will find themselves returning to certain chapters many times, not only for its content but for support and comfort. My Christian friends, family and I highly recommend this book for people of all ages and from all walks of life who are sincerely searching for Truth and Love. It deserves a galaxy of stars!
...

Best Christian Book on Today's Market!
The Gaping Door...is THE BEST book written in decades. It combines psychology, philosophy, religion, and ethics to explain the sad state morality has become in our society... Very well documented...and SUPERBLY written...Leaves NO questions unanswered. It is the duty of every Christian to read this book...take it to heart...The soul you save may be your own.

One of the best birth descriptions ever written
I'm a midwife and an author. Pregnant women for the past 30 years have asked me '...but what does labor/birth really FEEL like?' Dorothy Bryant, by choosing to have her main character be blind and placing her in a situation where she is totally alone in a remote cabin when she gives birth, has written one of the most gripping and realistic accounts of what it's really like that I've ever read.
A small masterpiece, just for that part of the story alone.

Birth is natural
The Garden of Eros is a book about a woman who is blind and pregnant. It is the story of her birth and what goes through her mind as her labor progresses. It tells about her spiritual and emotional growth throughout her experience. She is transformed not only through the birth of her child, but more importantly through her ability to endure. It is a fabulously empowering book for every pregnant woman to read. I recommend it to every one of my friends!

Power Girl Ignites My Spirit
What a mesmorizing account of a woman's life! I could not put the book down and found that Dorothy McKibbin's image of being a "power girl" ignited my own need to move forward and make a difference in life. Steeper has done an incredibly thorough job capturing the details of not only McKibbin's life and life-long contributions, but also the events of the time period. I highly recommend this book and plan to buy more for my "power girl" girlfriends around the world!

A priceless suffix guide
This is a valuable resource for those who are pursuing specialized studies in Spanish such as translation and linguistics. The book will also be helpful to advanced students, teachers and native speakers who have an interest in the specifics of the language such as the art to vocabulary building. The book focuses on Spanish suffixes and the possible equivalents in the English language where applicable. This book will help you to grow your vocabulary, better understand the roots of Spanish words and also help you to strengthen your foundation in understanding the logical aspect in the formation of words in Spanish. For example:

Words that end in -ity- in English usually end in -dad- Spanish. Humanity=humanidad and eternity =eternidad and the gender is feminine. -ence- and -ency- in English is equivalent to -encia- in Spanish. Agency= agencia and Afluency=afluencia.

Also at the end of every suffix studied there are samples of idiomatic expressions at random that are very helpful which will also increase your vocabulary and knowledge of fixed expressions in Spanish. Examples from the book include:

1) a suplicacion- on petition or by request
2) andar en lenguas- to be the subject of gossip
3) hora punta- rush hour
4) noticia bomba- sensational news
5) huelga decir-needless to say.

I have not seen anything comparable to this guide on the market. I have owned for seven years now and it has been an educational and priceless resource.

Great Book
This book was a great asset to me. This helped me breeze through my spanish suffixes in a flash. I reccomend this book to anyone willing to take the time to learn spanish the fun and easy way.

This book held my attention, I am anxious to read more
I found the book to be transparent and open. The view we rarely get to see inside therapy sessions from the therapist perspective as well as the clients. This is a must read for those that are considering therapy, it also makes sense for those going into the field of counseling. It enables future therapist to gain insight to the concerns and fears of the client. I enjoyed following the relationship through its course.

A msg of hope, by therapy which welcomes God in the process
A bold expose of her story of deliverence through the ups and downs of a two year journey through therapy with a psychologist/minister, Dorothy Barnes succeeds in her goal of demystifying the process.

MScott Peck opens his book The Road Less Traveled with the statement "Life is difficult." Then proceeds to make the difficulty easier, and easier to accept, by putting it into perspective and giving a book's worth of insight. Likewise, Barnes and Earle make the often scary thought of entering into and navigating through therapy into an avenue of hope.

They accomplish this by introducing new words into our vocabulary, like "carefront" and "enlightened selfishness" to help us understand the hard work of facing fears which are often too difficult to allow into our awareness.

While we usually are terrified to reveal those areas of our hearts where less than noble intentions lie, Barnes reveals them, and lives to tell about it!

More than! admiration for a noble journey, I come away from reading Healing Conversations with a vision of hope.

This book is written in a conversational style that flows well and is very enjoyable to read. I highly recommend it.

Outstanding!
This book radiates with the beauty of Henry Moore, and helps us to recognize those more recent sculptors such as Donald Wright, who have perhaps surpassed the master.

Provides Moore enthusiasts with a body of works
Moore is one of the most beloved sculptors of the 20th century, yet his work has fallen out of favor with the modern critics: this seeks to reassess Moore's crucial contribution to art of the last century, examining his early experiments with primitivism and his later probe into modernist pieces. The focus on his early works in particular provides Moore enthusiasts with a body of works and approaches not seen in many other considerations of his works.

The Mantle Family Reveals Its Problems To Help Others
If you are looking for a book on the baseball exploits of Mickey Mantle try another book. Mickey, his wife, and sons reveal the difficulties they endured as they each battled alcohol addiction which led to numerous other problems in their lives. It may seem like a depressing book, but the story is told in a way that other families might avoid the pitfalls the Mantle family suffered. They are to be commended for their candidness.

A true touching portrait of one of america's greatest heroes
After reading this book on Mickey Mantle, it showed all of us what a true hero he really was. Yes there were the incidents of alcohol and unfaithfulness with his wife, but the ability to see his wrongs and his struggle to correct those earlier problems would make anyone root for this midwest small town icon.
