What a good compulation of women! Women that worked hard, made a difference. Julie Jones-Eddy does a great job of pulling together the interviews into an interesting, informative book about women making their way in a "new world". Nice job, Julie. I tried everything: patches, gum, cold turkey - you name it, I tried it, and still I smoked like a [chimney]. But this book helped me kick the habit and beat the craving. This is the most helpful and enlightening book for the serious student of Christian Science. It was written as the result of first hand experience in Mrs. Eddy's household from one who had a deep understanding of the science of Christian Science. It does not take the reader into personal opinions about the church, just gives helpful insights into how Mrs. Eddy lived and thought and practised the religion she discovered.

Eddy's style is very easy to follow and allows both the novice and expert to quickly reference and utilize the powerful features of Lotus. Having used Eddy's Matering Lotus SmartSuite 97 in the past, it's refreshing to see that the layout is similar and makes the instructions in plain English. I'd recommend any of the Eddy books as they contain enough detail to give a really comprehensive overview, without all the lingo that makes understanding the concepts too difficult.

Also included in "Misc. Writings" is "Ways that are vain" which is one of the best explanations of evil that I've ever seen in print. If you liked C. S. Lewis' "Screwtape Letters" you'll also appreciate Mrs. Eddy's article "Ways that are vain."

Dakin's book is SUPERIOR. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the history of Christian Science. I have give this book to friends and they loved it. It reads better than most novels. All Christian Scientists should read this book and own a copy.

There is no let down or disappointment here. You won't be able to put it down.
