A Fun Read for Kids and Parents
Dinosaur James is the story of the boy who plays nothing but dinosaur games, and knows all of the dinosaur names. If that wasn't you growing up maybe it was your brother or the kid down the block. Anyway, you will like James.

An easy reader with just a sentence on each page and big colorful pictures, your kids will soon read it or recite it by heart, which isn't a bad way to learn to read. I have given a bunch of these as gifts, every kid loved it.

Sadly, not every parent loved it, and childrens librarians and teachers really, really, do not love it. I hate to give away the surprise ending, but let me just say it is what every kid would wish for, just ask them.

An indispensable guide to opera CDs
This guide evaluates the available CD recordings of operas by 180 composers. It is especially useful in choosing among several different recorded versions of an opera or in planning a journey to listen to opera.

At 554 pages, it's long enough to give all of the essential details about singers' voices, orchestral music and the technical qualities of recordings.

Highly recommended contribution to Penology Studies
Hard Time: Voices From A State Prison, 1849-1914 is the story of the state penitentiary at Stillwater, Minnesota -- a dangerous, sometimes lethal, stone fortress erected for the purpose of exacting punishment and penance from it's inmate population. Enhanced throughout with period photography, Hard Times is a documentary history of the facility where those men deemed incorrigible were send to do "hard time" and which, over the sixty-five years of its existed, evolved to become one of the most respected penal institutions in the nation. Hard Times offers up such memorable events as the imprisonment of the Younger gang in 1876; the prison fire of 1884; the escape of Frank P. Landers and Oscar J. Carlon in 1887; the "twine shop insurrection" of 1899; the manhunt for escaped convicts Peter Juhl and Jerrfy McCarty in 1911; and a great deal more. Very highly recommended contribution to Penology Studies; Minnesota History; and American History supplemental reading lists and academic reference collections...

Harnessing Microstation 95
Published in Paperback by Delmar Publishers (October, 1996)
Authors: G. V. Krishnan, James E. Taylor, and G. V. Kirshnan
Amazon base price: $87.95
Used price: $14.99

This book was horrible.
This book was extremely difficult to follow. It doesn't place any emphasis on the key points of Microstation. Furthermore, it gives very little detail to what it asking to be done, and explaning what is being done. Very little step by step and instructions for beginner or advanced users. Personally: This book I believe shouldn't be allowed on the market. It is undeniably the worst book to buy for Microstation.

Contemporary Value
An adventure story about an early unconventional missionary!!This is a great read aloud book for older elementary age children and up. Although the setting is middle 1800s, the lessons are timeless. A great way to teach your children the difficulties faced by early missionaries, (5 1/2 dangerous months at sea just to get to China) and their complete reliance upon God to surmount seemingly impossible challenges. Although Taylor's faith is great, even he is surprised by the continual rescues and provisions that are clearly God orchestrated. My children thought it started slowly, but got more exciting when he finally reached China! Even adults will enjoy listening. I highly recommend it.

A must have for Guitar Players and James Taylor fans.
As a longtime James Taylor fan, this book was exactly what I had been looking for. It is the companion to JT's LIVE album of a couple of years ago. It contains complete sheet music as well as guitar chord blocks for those of us that don't read music. The songs covered in the book are a very good cross section of JT's hits. They are ( in order )

Sweet Baby James Traffic Jam Handy Man Your Smiling Face Secret O' Life Shed a little light Everybody has the blues Steamroller Blues Mexico Millworker Country Road Fire And Rain Shower the People How Sweet it is New Hymn Walking Man Riding on a Railroad Something in the way she moves Sun on the moon Up on the roof Don't let me be lonely tonight She thinks I still care Copperline Slap Leather Only One You make it easy Carolina in my Mind I will Follow You've got a friend That Lonesome Road

Along with all the great sheet music, there are several pages of pictures from the live tour. As you can guess, I highly recommend this book.

Freakin' Great! Buy This Book!
James Taylor is a minor genius on the order of Typhoid Mary, or the guy who invented the wide-mouthed soda can. What I mean is that Mr. Taylor has distilled the sweetest and most powerful liquor out of the grease and rust of the sideshow, and packed it into the meaty pages of "Shocked and Amazed". If you have any interest in the sideshow, freakery, or the hard red underbelly of American culture, you need these books. So far there are 5 issues, with "Shocked and Amazed" Number 6 coming soon.
