A gripping tale that reaches into the depths of one's soul!
Ivan Turner brilliantly weaves wonderful characters with a great, non-stop story line and forces the reader to become an integral part of the story itself. His understanding and portrayal of each of the characters is exquistely satisfying! Surely, this author is the next Harlan Ellison! I loved it!!

Airports Full of People a Long Time Dead

An eclectic masterpiece
I found Kershner's mastery of human emotion cleverly intertwined in his musings and verse. I only hope that upcoming writers take notice of his style and may learn to appreciate the subtleties that life shadows, just as Kershner has shown us. Please bring more to the table, your followers are hungry!

Just look at the pictures
If you have any interest in painting the sea or marine themes, you gotta have it. The ocean, the moon light and the incredible detail are fantasitic. I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes looking at great marine art for pleasure or for getting ideas to paint from. Trying to imagine how this master painted what he did is amazing. I studied sea scape painting with a modern master, Loren Adams, on Maui and Loren claims this Russia as his greatest influence. Check out Lorens web site and you'll see the similarities. (Loren is the painter that most influenced the seascapes by current best seller Lassen.)

I have no idea about the text in this book, this review only applies to the color plates in this book.

Happy painting!

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich": A Study Guide from Gale's "Novels for Students"

Lots of information about Russia
This book is all about the Soviet Union under Stalin. The study guide gives lots of information about life at that time, and about the meaning of Solzhenitsyn's themes. A big help if you want to understand the story better. I tried to get this kind of information on the web but couldn't find it. I think I'd like to read more about the author now.

Nice Story, Nicely Illustrated
This picture book is nicely illustrated and has a nice message for children. (Nice messages in picture books seem harder to find these days.) It is a story of a young elephant who wants to pick leaves for breakfast all by herself. The message to children is that it is good to try new things and be a little independent. However, while they are young they can still use a little help from their parents. A parents help in conjunction with a child's determination makes for a good combination.

Gorgeously photographed, one-of-a-kind book!
This is the first book that captures the unique culture of Thrace through extensive photographs of ancient treasures from museums throughout Bulgaria. I am happy to see that all photographs are accompanied with captions providing a wealth of information about the objects as well as info in which museums they can be seen. The preface details the history, culture, and religion of Thrace, and it's filled with fascinating facts. It gives you deeper understanding of the political and cultural complexity of the ancient world and the relationships among Thracians, Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans, etc. There is a timetable at the end that conviniently displays the various periods in the development of Thrace parallel to famous world events.

Needless to say, the book is a must for everybody interested in ancient history. It also makes a great coffee table book, unique and fascinating like Thrace itself.

From the shadows emerge
This is an Interesting and important book illustrating the necessity to have a cohesive building team of understanding professionals in order to design 'beautiful'
architecture. The book brings forward the forgotten engineers who stood in the shadow of famous architects, such as Frank Kornacker, Joachim Cardozo, Jaroslav Polivka and others without whom the 'great, and heroic' architecture could not have been created. This is a book that Should be read by every engineer
and architect who is truly interested in the building design and
collaborative working environment. It brings to light that Architecture that is art and science is achieved by team work, and an understanding of two disciplines that are intricately sutured together

The Atlas of the Medieval World in Europe (IV-XV Century)
Reminiscent of the Eyewitness Explorers Series, illustrations fill every page in this graphically beautiful series. Short descriptions give a concise eclectic overview of topics. A nice supplement to encyclopedic reference works with broader and more in depth coverage, but which may be lacking in illustrations. Ideal for young or reluctant readers because there are so many pictures calculated to capture student interest. Includes Index and maps. Series includes the following titles: Atlas of World Cultures, Atlas of the Classical world, Atlas of the Bible Lands, and Atlas of the 20th Century.
