A thorough treatment of LLCs
I found this book to be very helpful, especially in the area of writing an Operating Agreement. The authors compare LLCs with other types of business structures and give the advantages/disadvantages of each. They have also added notes and tips throughout the book that will help you resolve issues in setting up your company. I used the tips to compile a checklist for setting up my business. Finally, there are plenty of sample documents that you can adapt for your own use. Although I have gotten an attorney to help with the fine details related to my state, I would highly recommend this book to help you understand and plan an LLC.

A great help for a small company!
This book saved my company quite a bit of money. We were considering incorporation, but this book tuned us into a better alternative! It contains all the info needed to form a LLC on your own.

Further proof it's quality not quantity that counts.
This module is surprisingly succinct: just 32 pages of dual column, small margin text that managed to speak to me. The vast majority of modules out there just scream "hokey" to me. Lame motivations in even more lame ecologies. This one didn't. In fact, if you accept the premise of FRP, "hey, this could happen" will repeatedly cross your mind as you read it. There is a reasonably sized cast of characters (7-10, depending on style) that are well detailed and fit together as a whole. The who-is-doing-what-to-whom is realistic. The ecology of the whole is plausible. Whether or not it hits the mark at level 7-8 depends on your style but it's in the ballpark. Wouldn't take too many tweaks to drop it to 6 or *maybe* even 5. Bouncing it up to 9 or 10 is just as easy or easier. If you minimize the role-play and have an extremely efficient group, you'd be able to bang it out in a session. But you'd be cheating your group out of a lot of fun. It has a number of threads that could easily be expanded into a mini-campaign stretching several sessions: a prequel or two, three to four documented chapters, and two or three expanded epilogues. With far fewer tweaks than most modules require, this module can integrate exceedingly well in any campaign.

Whew!
Boy, this was one hard adventure, but man was it fun! I don't want to give away to much, so just buy the book, and enjoy it already!!

Technical Drawing

One of the best sources available
This book is loaded with technical information for the dratsman and designer. A must have for anyone who is in the mechanical technology field.

One of the best text books ever written...
This text was the basic drafting manual that I used during my technical education; its use did not end with school, however, since I refer to it frequently in my occupation. It tells everything that needs to be explained and described in the general drawing problems that might be encountered in industrial practice. It contains excellent descriptions and illustrations for: Drawing Threads, Fasteners & Springs Geometric Constructions Clear, Concise instructions in using Drafting Instruments, (before the time of Computer Aided Drafting & Desing, in any case). An Excellent overview of the Industrial Design & Development Process, (which I wish my supervisors would read). Sectional Drawing. This book is to drafting what Machinery's Handbook, of the Industrial Press, is to the metal working industries. There are a variety of Drafting Textbooks available, but none are incrementally better, let alone drasticaly better.

theodore's introduction to foreign languages
This story is another companion book to the PBS series, and is a gentle introduction to the idea of foreign languages. Like the other books in the series it is well written and nicely illustrated, and is one of the better Theodore stories. All the tugs are excited about the arrival of the Tall Ships to the Big Harbor, and it's Theodore's job to say hello to each arrival in their own language. We learn "hello" and "thank you" in Spanish, French, Italian, German and Dutch. Nicely done.

Fun for adults and children
For those of us who love the Big Harbour (Halifax) and adore Theodore, this book is a must! I bought several copies with the idea of giving them as 'greeting cards' for friends who saw the real Tall Ships in Halifax Harbour in 2000. Although this book doesn't have the usual moral for children, it does have the helpful idea of making friends with ships and people from all over the world. An inexpensive, yet delightful book. Designed as a 'read to me' style book for children too young to read on their own, this book is a charmer.

Designer's Resource - None Better
Ivan Chermayeff and Tom Geismar are two legendary figures in the world of corporate identity. They created many well-known designs beginning in the 1960s and continuing through the current time. This book is simple in design - mostly one logo per page - but the overall impact of the book is powerful. While the reader will recognize many of the logos shown here, he (she) will come away with the understanding that the best marks are simple. Simplicity works. I buy many design books each year. This is one that I'll treasure for a long time to come.

Wonderful overview of logos
Chermayeff & Geismar is one of the world's top corporate identity consultancies. This book shows their work over many decades, and even though the "in" styles of logo design have changed greatly since the 1960s, the work shown within these pages is highly inspirational.

The quality of the designs shown for both large and small clients is a testimony to the firm's high standards. Simply stated, the book should be on every logo designer's shelf.

Great Inside Look
What a great idea-- go inside both teams as they prepare for the greatest college football rivilary in the nation-- Auburn v. Alabama (or Alabama v. Auburn, whichever you prefer). It offers great insight of the workings of the coaching staffs as they get ready for the big game.

Roll Tide! and, well ok... war eagle.
Finally, a well-written book about the only college football rivalry that really matters. Other books have tried to capture the intensity of this series. But this one, with excellent material from folks like Howell Raines, tops them all. If you've ever tried, vainly, to explain what this game really means to someone not washed in Alabama-Auburn lore, then you know how difficult it is to do what these authors have done. An excellent book. Well done.

Whirlybirds: A History of the U.S. Helicopter Pioneers
Published in Hardcover by University of Washington Press (1998)
Author: Jay P. Spenser
Amazon base price: $40.00
Average review score:

Great book on helo pioneers
This is a masterpiece on the four US helicopter pioneers -- Sikorsky, Bell (Arthur Young), Piasecki, and Stanley Hiller. Only faults to the book are (1) that it primarily focuses on the pioneers (hence the title), not the machines, and (2) he has nothing at all good to say about Hughes helicopters. In fact, it's pretty well damning. I think it should've been a little more objective. Also doesn't cover Charlie Kaman, who was also one of the early pioneers and still active today.

Excellent! a great book
Whirlybirds is very well written account of the early history of the helicopter, and its pioneers. Filling a long needed gap in aviation history, this book tells how four men looked into the future of vertical flight, and turned it into a reality. This book is a must have. Jay Hendrickson

THE MOST INSPIRING TAPE SERIES EVER PRODUCED
This tape set exceeds all others because it is presented in a very friendly conversational way. I never thought I'd enjoy an interview type of format, but this one works because it gives you such great information on how to take charge of your life.Great for car listening.

A PROFITABLE & FUN WAY TO PASS ROAD TIME!
I have listened to many self help tapes that were designed to: make more sales, manage my time, become more positive, close more sales, teach financial techniques, become healthier, have less stress, and all rest of the current "buzz word" tapes. This is the only one that ties them all together that I have ever found!! This tape set has saved my sanity, life, carreer, and marrige at various times. I know that it will do the same for you also. A Transformative Book
Is it true that the first Spanish grammar was intended as an agent of state control? Is it true that all writing up until Aquinas was dictation plucked from the air, without opportunity or perceived need for revision? Is it true that the priest reading the written Latin words in Spain, France, Burgundy and throughout Europe pronounced the words in a way that the worshippers understood? I don't know if these and other surprising assertions in the book are true, but having believed them I have found that this book has had a transformative effect on my experience of worship, language and oratory. I hightly recommend this book to priests, educators, and language professionals, and to any one interested in Christianity, language and schooling.
