One of my favorite authors
"Having It All" came to me at time in my life, when I really needed some guidance on how to treat my significant other to help him know just how much he meant to me. When applied, Helen's instructions work like a charm. This book is magic and it was amazing to me when everything she wrote about worked. All three women, including myself, who applied her tactics got their man and got married. I have purchased two of "Having It All" because someone never returned my first book.

Good
This is good common sense advice that is available to almost any woman. She tells shy women how to deal with shyness. And covers most other areas of life. I'm a guy, and it helped me with MY shyness. And, as a guy, I wish every woman would read the section where she tells you how to give a man perfect oral pleasure!

Such fun to read!
I happened upon this book on a shelf in a holiday resort and got completely caught up in it - I even considered stealing it!

Her personal writing style, her common sense, her attitude to life - how I enjoy hearing that you have to make an effort if you want to achieve anything! - I enjoyed the book immensely and really got new ideas on some issues. Even my husband, who hates self help books, read a few pages about business and found them interesting and practical (phone rules). Of course, some of the stuff is dated, but in general, excellent reading and so entertaining! The little stories, the wording, the very personal tone (and still, she is never rude to her readers, even in the most intimate situations or when describing what you really should NOT do).

Absolutely lovely, I do hope she writes something for women in general again (a writer's guide is really not something I need! - though, if written by her, I might enjoy even that)

Great introduction "set" for a science class.
Believe it or not, I use this book as a read-aloud for my 8th grade (13 year olds!) science class. I read it to them before beginning a unit on weather. Even this age finds it humorous. Add this to your collection!

The cream of the crop
Again terrific illustrations in a children's book. The colors are dynamic and the silliness will grab your attention on every page. The author takes the impossible (only skips a few steps in each process)to make things happen! The ending is a surprise and could only come from Kansas!

Fun and amusing
My four-year-old has requested this for one of his bedtime stories for over one week running. The story itself is a humourous tall tale about a farm in Kansas. The illustrations are hilarious, and the expressions on the characters (including the farm animals) are expressive and funny. A great children's book, but wacky enough to make adults laugh, too.

Tiny sized, perfect for a 1 or 2 year-old
This is a set of four mini board books. The books are titled "I Can", "I See", "I Hear" and "I Touch". Each of these books is tiny in page size and each has 8 pages. Note that these books are each published separately as regular-sized board books and I believe that those contain more pages per book.

The tiny books come in a little box. Both the books and the box fit perfectly into the hands of a one and two year old toddler which I feel is the best feature of this product. So many good books are just too bulky or large for a toddler to really tote around easily. I love this little set as I feel it is a good thing when a toddler really enjoys books and the tiny size allows them to be held easily and comfortably. I did not discard the little box as my two-year old loves taking them out of the box and putting them back into the box as an activity in and of itself. He loves browsing them himself and of course having them read aloud. This little set entertained my son through a 5 plus hour plane ride and then a 2 hour car ride after that.

These are not stories; each 2-page spread contains one word and two illustrations for that word. The illustrations depict what looks like the Caillou character at a toddler age, although the boy and baby in the book remain nameless. Both my 2 year old and my 5 year old think this character is a toddler aged Caillou (although there is a different illustrator for the Caillou books). If you are not familiar with Caillou, he is a 4-year-old boy who is the main character in a PBS show and there are also Caillou books on the market. Since my 2 year old enjoys the Caillou show, he calls this character "baby Caillou". He loves these books and at the moment they are rarely out of his little hands.

Oxenbury's Tiniest Books--Biggest Hit
Believe it or not, I started sharing Helen Oxenbury's "Little Baby Books" with my grandbaby when she was only 4 weeks old. She would sit in her stroller in the yard while I sat on the steps reading the little books and showing her the pictures. She smiled her first smile while listening to "I Hear." She loves books but these four tiniest are her favorites. The best things do still come in small packages--Amy & her "Little Baby Books"! Wynndi

A wonderful first book series for children
These very simple (one word associated with a picture) group of books are a wonderful way for very young children to begin to learn associations. The books are even wonderful for 2 year old in that they can now go through the books and tell you about what they see. My son loves this series!

Masterwork from Brazil!
Do you want to read a book which is romantic ,but not frivolous, thrilling but not exagerated? Then try "Helena" written by Machado De Assis,in my opinion the best Brazilian writer of all times. But beware! The author is very exact, almost cynical, in showing life as it really is,full of lies and deceptions. So reading Machado books is always a very tough exercise because you always fell to be personally examinated and confronted by the author. But this "interactivity",plus the inimitable witness of Machado is what makes the reading a most pleasing experience. In this book which which belongs to the "Romantic" period of Machado De Assis production the author explores his favourite theme:the conflict between what we really are and what we are supposed(by the other people of course) to be.Who is really Helena? We all are Helena because basically we all live in the same contraddiction that she in the end is unable to face anymore. The other point in which Machado excelles is in the analysis of the family life expecially the very special relationship which develops between brother and sister.I suggest to everyone to read this book of Machado and many others.5stars!

Excelente!
So sorry , my english is not very well ... Vale apena ! Quem não leu amará esta linda obra deste fabuloso autor !

Great way to learn about Brasilian society in the 1880's
I read it a long time ago as a first introduction to Brazilian Classic Literature. It is a light novel with the great elements of the Romantism Era of Literature, and it reflexes very well the society of the last quater of the eighteenth century of the country. Women are a focal point in the novels by Machado de Assis, and recently I read that his wife revised his novels, and even changed the storyline when she saw the heroine suffering too much. Praise for the women of last century that helped their great men be so loved by a culture!

A wonderful guide
I've used this guidebook many times to locate and enjoy Mississippi's many public parks and nature areas. The information on each destination is wonderfully complete, with maps, phone numbers, and detailed lists of available features and services. This book is a wonderful resource for people interested in exploring the rich flora and fauna of Mississippi.

Excellent!
Also a native Mississippian, we have used this book again and again. Whether you camp Mississippi state parks, are looking for "off the beaten path" things to see and do, or love the outdoors, this book is for you. I never knew how much I was missing right around me until I got this book. I just ordered "Canoeing Mississippi" and hope it is as wonderful as this one.

Exactly Right
As a native Mississippian, I was intrigued by the correct and appropriate details of outdoors life noted by the author. The details of the trails and parks which I am familiar with are exactly correct. The best feature of this book is the MAPS, often hand drawn in a way to be the most useful to the reader. This is one of the best outdoors guides I have ever seen, for any region. It was exactly what I expected and a lot more.

Useful for Nurses and Physicians
This book is useful not only for nurses, but for physicans as well. It covers a lot of different aspects of hyperbaric medicine and the organization of a hyperbaric unit in detail. It has an excellent review of documentation needed for any hyperbaric unit. Attention was given to safety procedures, patient care, patient education, general management and transcutaneous oxygen measurements. An excellent book for every hyperbaric unit, or anyone interested in this fast growing specialty.
Igor Aksenov, M.D., PhD, Director of Hyperbaric Medicine Programs for Saba University School of Medicine

Hyperbaric Nursing Completes The Set
Best Publishing Company leads the way for the hyperbaric medicine community by publishing a comprehensive set of textbooks devoted to the practice of hyperbaric medicine. Publications include Hyperbaric Medicine Practice, Hyperbaric Facility Safety: A Practical Guide, Hyperbaric Surgery, and now to complete the set is Hyperbaric Nursing. The authors contributing to this stellar textbook are internationally renown and have clearly set the gold standard for the hyperbaric nursing community worldwide. This textbook offers foundational guidance on issues related hyperbaric documentation, indications for treatment, patient care, staffing considerations, patient assessment, patient education, regulatory adherance, facility safety and various patient evaluation techniques such as transcutaneous tissue oximetry and laser doppler flowmetry.

It has long been recognized that the quality of care for the hyperbaric patient is dependent on a team of professionals working together for the good of the patient. This textbook clearly demonstrates that many of the common issues that contribute to quality of care have been evaluated from a number of perspectives: medical, technical, safety and now, nursing. The team is now complete.

I congratulate the authors for producing a seminal document that will help standardize the practice of hyperbaric nursing around the world.

This book is a classic
Hard to improve on the previous editions, however, I like the tremendous online support that accompanies this newest edition. As always the text is consistantly readable, and the authors do a good job of dealing with the broad scope of the subject.

The best you can get!
The Integrated Principles of Zoology is the most thorough of the three in the Hickman/Zoology series. For a collegiate zoology/animal biology course, you can't find anything better. The 5th edition was the college/university standard back in 1975 when I took Zoology, and in the 11th edition is still the standard now when I teach Zoology. The text has been significantly revised since the 10th edition, with a terrific art program.

Four Star Book
This book told me everything I needed to know about zoology. It had a glossary in the back for words I didn't recognize and it was very informative. It is made like a text book for high school or college students.

Great choice, give as a 1st birthday gift
We checked this book out so many times at the library, we bought copies for us and to give as birthday gifts. Sweet story about cooperation of making cake and celebrating! I love Helen Oxenbury's soft watercolor illustrations - another great choice is "Going on a Bear Hunt"

Wonderful Book!
It is funny that the description of this book online says the main character is a boy, when in fact the author leaves the gender to be decided by the reader. My children (3 boys & 1 girl) love this book, and no one ever says anything about boy or girl. We have given this book many times as a birthday gift and have always had rave reviews for it. Highly reccommed for every house with children!

A wonderful and rare, gender-neutral picture book
It's interesting that some reviewers identify the child as aboy, when the author has in fact written and illustratied this storyto be gender-neutral. The child (and animals, for that matter) can be either male or female -- and that was the author's intention, as described in a note in the book. When the main characters in so many children's books are male for no reason other than the fact that Male is the default gender in our world, how nice for girls to be able to see themselves in the main character of this story (and how nice for parents to not have to change names and pronouns to provide a more balanced perspective when reading to our children).

The best cookbook ever
I dare you to find a bad recipe in this book. Every single recipe is a winner. The Jamaican cole slaw is so good everyone who eats it asks me for the recipe. The same for the jerk chicken. I love this book.

Absolutely The Best Jamacian Cookbook Ever!!
My husband and I have tried numerous recipies from this cookbook and each one has turned out 100% successful!! Helen has captured the true taste and flavor of the Caribbean with each and every recipe in this cookbook! This is our favorite cookbook!! We highly recommend her recipe for Dry Jerk Seasoning on Page 16!!!!! If you try her Jamaican Cole Slaw on Pg. 115, we would suggest adding pineapple. The sweet flavor makes it perfect!!! If you are going to buy ANY Caribbean or Jamaican cookbook, this is the BEST one by far!!!!!!

This is a "use it" cookbook !!
I have tried at least 10 of the receipes in this book and find it very hard to move on to others. The ones that I have tried are always repeated in some cases many times over. The Dry Jerk seasoning is a staple which I have prepared and given as gifts in fancy found jars (page 16). "Wid It" is a special treat that is a must. My all time favorite "Jerked Spareribs", that I place in a platter, cut ribs into small chunks, mix well with white rice, yellow raisens, cashews, and pineapple rings cut into chunks, smooth, put a flat layer of yellow corn on top, place pineapple rings on top of corn, spill all of the juice from the can all over the top and add a few maraschino cherries for color!! It's the BEST!!

Joy of Natural Childbirth

wonderful book for Christian women
I read this book when I was pregnant with my second child way back in 1970. After having a medicated birth I knew their had to be a better way. With the help of books like this one, plus Grantly-Dick-Read's Natural Childbirth. I had a wonderful birth experience with my second and third child. After eons of being taught that we must suffer as part of the curse its great to learn and realize that it is labor; hard work. Very helpful book and a great inspiration. God is awesome. Men may think they've got it made by not having to have babies but to me it was an truly awesome, spiritual experience that I wouldn't trade for a million $$.

Helpful and inspiring!
How should Christians view childbirth? Is "natural childbirth" some fad started by hippies and humanists? Should Christians use midwives? These were questions that were being batted around by a group of us fairly new mothers back when I was pregnant with my second baby. I wish I'd had this book then. It presents a Biblical view of childbirth...a view that tells us that childbirth can indeed be joyful. Is this pie-in-the-sky stuff only for "earth mothers" or women who delight in "toughing it out" or being martyr-like during labor? Not at all! I have had the sort of joyful birth that this book describes and teaches. If you want to be inspired and taught on a practical level about childbirth and its significance for Christian families, this is a must read.

Wanna know what the Bible REALLY says about childbirth?
If so, read this book! The late Helen Wessel studied the Scriptures in their original language, and discovered the truth about Eve's "curse". The first half of the book is written as a story, about a young Christian couple expecting their first baby. There is alot of information to be picked up in the story, and even more follows in the second half of the book.

Part 2 has such chapter titles as "Childbirth Through the Centuries," "Childbirth in the Bible," "The Medical Model," "Family Sheltered Birthing," "Birthing God's Way," "The Joy of Natural Childbirth," and "The Joy of Breastfeeding." One of these chapters alone makes the book worth buying. All of them put together makes it a must-read, even if you are not planning an unmedicated birth.
