Let down
Very superficial. Not nearly the depth of the authorized biography.

A tribute to his legacy as a golfer and as a human being
Payne Stewart was a gifted professional golfer, a loving father, devoted husband, loyal friend, and a man of faith. On October 25, 1999, a plane on its way to Texas and carrying five people, crashed in a pasture in a remote area of South Dakota. The pilot and all of the passengers, including Payne Stewart, died. When he died, Stewart was enjoying his greatest year as a professional golfer as current defender of the U.S. Open, a member of the Ryder Cup Championship team, and the winner of the AT&T Celebrity Pro-Am in Pebble Beach. His silky golf swing and his knickers with a tam-o-shanter perched upon his head were all familiar trademarks of his colorful golfing persona. I Remember Payne Stewart is a tribute to his legacy as a golfer and as a human being through the comments, memories and anecdotes offered by relatives, college buddies, fellow golfers, sports reporters, and more. I Remember Payne Stewart is a striking and memorable collection of personal memories by those who knew him best and a "must read" for all Stewart fans who followed his golf course accomplishments with great enthusiasm for the man and the game.

Outstanding treatment of Stewart
Fantastic treatment of this golf icon. And so timely. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

little bit about everything, not enough about anything
I bought this book because I wanted a simple introduction to using windows as a server. I was very dissapointed to find that the entire first third of this book is a very basic rundown of networking in general, ethernet, bus/star topologies, tcp/ip, etc. Then the book spends two chapters on active directory, which is useless as not even Active Directory For Dummies could cover the whole topic. It also covers being a "print server" and manages to devote an entire chapter to "right click -> share". Overall I literally learned nothing useful. I'm still unsure about adding/managing user accounts, and know nothing about IIS.

A Very Good Reference book
First I want to make it clear that the review of this book entitled "Good prep book if you supplement it" by "tonywr" should be removed because I believe he wrote the review for the wrong book. I believe he was reviewing "MCSE Windows 2000 Server for Dummies (with CD-ROM)" by Curt Simmons. Why do I believe this? First of all, this book does NOT come with a CD-ROM, the reviewer clearly stated that his book did. Secondly, this book is not intended to be a guide for the MCSE Windows 2000 Server test(70-215) or any other MCSE test. It is merely a book to help you set up a windows 2000 client/server network. It does so very well. If you have never set up a server before this book will show you exactly how to do it. And further, it will show you some basic adminstration of your network. It is a good first step in client/server networks for people who have very little knowledge about computer networks. I do not have enough time right now, so I will not give a review of this book. I just wanted to point out that the other review should be disregarded, as the reviewer did not actually read this book, although his opinion of this book would be correct that it will not be sufficient alone to help you pass the MCSE tests, but that is because this book has nothing to do with the MCSE tests, other than the fact that this book and the MCSE Windows 2000 Server test(70-215) are both about windows 2000 Server.

Broad and easy to understand
I would highly recommend this book to beginners in using Windows 2000 Server, as well as those who are new to networking in general. I expected this book to be entirely devoted to the actual operating system, but the first two parts of the book cover basic characteristics of any network, and what you will need to set one up. After this fine introduction, the authors guide you through installation, configuring, and maintenance. Their style remains clear throughout the book, the jokes are not as corny as in some other Dummies books, and the directions are clear. A good book for studying Win 2K Server *and* networking in general.

Worth a look
This is, as all of Michael Stewart's books are, an entertaining story that should keep you interested from start to finish with some excellent scenes in the last 50 pges of the book. I honestly do not understand why Stewart is out of print, as both this and Monkeyshines are very readable and considerably better than a lot of what is on offer at the moment.

Belladonna is Breathtaking
I have been searching for this book for years- i read it and then a friend never returned it. This book was a delightful twist of both mystery, romance, horror/suspence, and history. i truly was transported into the past along with the leading man. an excellent read-- i'm very disappointed that it's out of print!

This Is For General Microsoft Knowledge
I originally meant to buy Exam Cram not Exam Prep. When using Exam Prep I thought it did not prepare me for the tests. I have used one of the Exam Cram books for TCP/IP and thought it prepared me quite well. If your looking to take your MCSE test buy EXAM CRAM not Exam Prep.

Excellent !!!
I've been teaching the MCSE courses and on of my students brought the Exam Crams and Exam Prep books in the class, asked me to read and rate them. After reading through these books, I found these books are just excellent. They are full of technical stuffs, written in real English, and in a readable manner. I have even "talked" to one of the authors of the book as well (and his name is Ed). Ed was expert in the field and he was very fun to" talk" to. I definitely would recommend the books to all my students, friends.

A mixed bag
I purchased this book based on the author's reputation. I have mixed feelings about the book.

Yes, there are some technical inaccuracies. However, none (so far) are fatal and most seem to been due to oversights in the editing process.

Each of the chapters starts with an "In-depth" section that reviews the chapter's contents. While I hesitate to describe much of the material as "in depth"; this section of each chapter does a reasonably good job of overviewing the material. More than wading, but not deep either. More like waist deep.

The rest of each chapter provides step by step instructions to tasks related to the chapters material. Most of these "solutions" provide a step by step instuction to complete some task.

This book is not meant to be a MCSE test prep tool. For a beginning to intermediate level network administrator or for a recent NT 4 to Windows 2000 convertee, there is a lot of useful "get the job done" information.

This book is great!
This book is great! I found that it went into great detail on issues that have been coming up on a daily basis in the office. Overall it was very educational as well as easy to read and provided great techniques to help with installation and management for my network. Using the information in this book has increased my production ten fold in such a sort time I can suggest that all 2000 administrators should pick up a copy.

Very good cross over book.
This is really a good book. It is note quite a reference manual. Its more of a teaching/insturction book. I have been working with NT since 3.51. The jump from 3.51 to 4.0 was pretty easy because you were using Windwos 95 for a year already and 4.0 "looked" just like 95 and it still worked a lot like 3.51. With 2000 its all new.

This book gives an explanation of what its covering in the chapter - good stuff - a lot like a manual, then it gives step-by-step instructions on how to do things that you wouldn't even need to think about how to do in NT4. Its worth it - you might not need it as much 8 months from now - but it should be on the self for those 1st 8 months. I would recomend this book to newbies and pros alike.

The only thing that could be better was if Stu could have hooked us up with licensed versions of the software included with the CD ;)

For the price, this is a fantastic, portable reference!
The Hip Pocket Guide is a great portable reference for HTML 4. I wouldn't recommend it as a beginner's first or only book, but for someone who knows the basics, it is extremely helpful. Whenever I need a reminder about what attributes I can use with a particular tag, this is the book I refer to.

It is especially great for the web designer who must travel throughout the day. Whether I'm working on my pages at home, or teaching HTML at work (USF - Tampa), I've got this guide with me.

GREAT for a Reference Guide
I borrowed the book from a friend. Knew nothing about coding HTML (could read html, just not code) and within 3 hours I had a full test website with links, tables, images, background all the basics. I am now getting into the forms and such. GREAT BOOK, I am online now to buy it for myself!

Right here on my desk
This is an exceptionally useful reference to HTML 4 that I keep on my desk for looking things up as I work on my web sites. It's also a book I recommended highly to customers when I sold computer books in a previous job. If you're somewhat familiar with HTML, this is a perfect reference, and has the advantage of being comb bound so it doesn't snap shut while you're using it. If you want a book with which to learn HTML, this isn't it (Elizabeth Castro's "HTML 4 Visual Quickstart Guide" is), but if you use HTML daily, this is a necessary book to have and keep handy.

Mediocre prep tool for the 70-064 exam
The title says it all. This book is for CRAMING ONLY. DO NOT use it as your sole source of information for the exam. It was a very FAST read. The practice test at the end of the book is just a rehash of the questions found at the end of each chapter, it was useless. The is information in here is good for the exam, but not good enough to pass. This book should only be use in conjunction with another book (perhaps Teach yourself Win 95 in 14 days for MCSE). I passed the exam using these two books and the practice test downlaoded from Microsoft.

Can't say anything bad - I passed - 1st time!!
Before reading this book, I read Microsoft Press's Implementing and Supporting Windows 95.....twice!! But after reading Exam Cram, I seemed to understand things better. If you understand them, it's a lot easier to remember them. I will buy other Exam Cram products.

Good book for someone with some experience already.
This is a good book for preparation, as long as you already know your way around Win95 and computers in general. It tells you what you need to know to pass the exam, but does not go into much detail or explanation. I used this book and the practice tests downloaded from Microsoft and passed the first time. If you are more advanced, you might be able to get away with just the O'Reilly book--it is VERY concise. But Exam Cram is a good middle ground: not as verbose as the Microsoft test prep books but offers a little more elaboration than O'Reilly. A little weak in interoperation/system policy type issues in large networks, but in all other exam areas I felt it provided a thorough prep.

The Forgotten Monarchy of Scotland: The True Story of the Royal House of Stewart and the Hidden Lineage of the Kings and Queens of Scots

Of major importance to Scottish Political events today.
As a Scots from Scotland, born & bred on the right side of the borders, this book became within 3 weeks of publication a bestseller (number 2 in Scotland, 7 in UK) and has seen a public awareness of a new alternative to party politics in the up coming and new Scotland. For those die hard pro-Hanoverian (or Windsor as most people know them today), I am glad to say that 'your time is up'. People, in Scotland, are already campaigning for the return of their lawful Royal House in a big way. There are many things which have been said by two particular reviewers, namely all rather negative. However, HRH Prince Michael of Albany is the legal, recognised head of the Royal House of Stewart, a title which has been mentioned on his British Passports since 1986. His claim has never been denied by the authorities in Great Britain and was, in matter of fact, confirmed by the British Home Office on 24-04-91. There are contemporary archives (British State) proving that Charles Edward's progeny, Edward James Stuart of Stuarton and Albany, survived into the 19th & 20th centuries. The book is extremely well researched, drawing from european archives and explains in details what happened to the family while surviving in exile. While passionate, it is focused. The Prince's understanding of Scottish history, for one born in Belgium, is superb and his political analysis second to none. This man, when he becomes King of Scots (notice when, not if), will prove to be what Scotland has been needing all along. A representative of the people, for the people. For all who are truly interested, not merely in the past of Scotland but in her future, read this book and learn. And no matter what some rather poorly misguided individuals may tell you, think Scotland, sing Scotland and support the Royal House of Stewart.

History as it should be taught
If only this book had been available when I was a schoolboy (post war) and had been taught as our history. Scotland will gain strength from knowing that her true Prince is back to fight for her freedom. This is a Royal House believing in 'Service to the people'. A movement has now been organised around the Prince and Scottish politicians are finally taking note of what visions Prince Michael has for Scotland. I attended one of his lecture (the hall was full, people stood for lack of chairs) and it was the best evening I have had for a long time. The house of Stewart has NEVER died out. If you believe it has, you are a fool. It is alive, kicking, it is modern, relevant, politically aware and ready to make waves. It will also bring Scottish Independence quicker than we think. Scottish businesses are linking with him in an attempt to be more fully and more efficiently represented. It is a breath of fresh air which Scotland has craved for these past many years. It is the most exciting read the end of this century has had to offer. From Scotland to Scots the world over.

Reacessment of Scotland and her traditional Monarchy.
"The Forgotten Monarchy of Scotland" by Prince Michael Stewart of Albany. Passionately written and researched by the the author, who`s passion is fueled by the fact that it is his own family and personal identity he is establishing in the face of a two century old conspiracy who`s source is one of the most powerful governments on earth.

Forgotten Monarchy is a minutely detailed reacessment of the history of Scotland and the emergence of the Royal Scottish family. We have all heard the old adage that history is written by the victors, well, here in Prince Michael`s book are told the details concealed by the English who wrote the victor`s history we were all taught in school. One of these surprising details is the revelation that the Stewart dynasty did not become extinct as the textbooks would have us believe.

Not just dry stories here, the details have modern significance and particularly relevant to a Scotland recently voting to have their own Parlament , not had since 1707.

Of major importence to the book is the detailing of Westminster`s conspiracy against the Stewarts in exile. Included are documents that prove that Bonnie Prince Charlie had prodigy, and they were recognised as such by governments and Royal families of Europe throughout the 19th century.

In places, Forgotten Monarchy reads like a mystery, it has everything you could want in a good mystery, conspiracy in high places, destruction of documents, attempted political assassinations. It all sounds unnervingly very modern but this conspiracy started in the 18th century and has continued to this day, fairly successfully I might add.

There are those who have publicly maintained that the claims of Prince Michael and his family are all fantasy, made up of whole cloth. If they have the courage to actually check out the documentation presented in this book they just might change their tune.

Finally, Forgotten Monarchy is an engaging story of a 17 year old man raised in Belgium who moved to Scotland in 1976 becau! se he felt that his destiny lay there in the land of his forebeares.

The last 22 years have been quite an experience for Michael Stewart, for most Scots as well as the rest of us in the english speaking world, had no idea the Stewart family had survived in exile.

Shortly after arriving in Scotland, young Prince Michael paid a visit to Lord Lovat, who also had no knowledge of the Stewarts in exile. When the Lord Lovat realised who this young man at his door was, he asked "What on earth are you doing here?"

The 17 year old`s reply is best told in his own words; "I could think of no better reply than to quote the well remembered words of Prince Charles Edward, and answered..........I am come home"

The book is very informational; the test is VERY difficult.
I have passed 5 of the 6 required tests for my MCSE, all of them on the first try, by only reading the Exam Cram series.

I have passed all 4 cores, and I passed this test, Proxy Server 2, today. Out of all of the tests, this one was the most difficult.

I read the Exam Cram book, and the entire online documentation for Proxy Server 2. I found only 1 noticable conflict between the two, whether or not IPX/SPX is supported by the Web Service. I believe it is, but the only way to know for sure is to test it. The Microsoft documentation mentioned that IPX/SPX is not supported (there's no gateway) through SOCKS, but it is through WinSocks; no mention of Web Service. The Exam Cram specifically says that IPX/SPX is only supported through WinSocks, and an 'exam cram' I found online, specifically states that IPX/SPX is supported by Web Services and WinSocks Services.

In conclussion, Proxy Server 2.0 by Exam Cram was the most clear documentation I have read on Proxy Server 2.0.END

Excellent Book.
This is the best Exam Cram books I have ever read. It contains all the information you need to pass the test, and it contains very few errors. I read this book over the course of a week, combined with some hands on at work, and passed the Proxy test with a very high score.

Read it and passed easy.
Proxy server exam should probably be taken after the core and IIS 4.0 as I did. If your thinking is that a small book should be an easy test, goferit. Otherwise be prepared to get a test that relies heavily on tcp/ip and iis4 background. This book lays out exactly what you'll need to learn in 200 pages. No fluff and no spoon feedings to make newbies feel good.Just the facts. The pictures of each screen are a great help cause you'll need to know whats under setup and config tabs.

Not bad for review purposes
I had no Frontpage experience before buying this book and managed to pass the exam after reading it. I did however, take quite a bit of time using Fp98 which helped a great deal. I'd recommend the book to people who already have an understanding of Fp98. I agree with most people that the sample questions in the book are much easier than the actual test questions. It also would have been nice for the Author to at least mention something about the simulation questions, they caught me totally off guard. Overall not a bad book if all you want to do is go over the essentials before the test.

Just for pass the exam.
If you want to pass this exam, it will be useful. Because the contents focus on the main certification objectives. The cram sheet is really useful for the exam.

Good book with minor lackings.
This is NOT a study guide.

This book is for people who has already read a study guide and are very familiar with FrontPage 98.

It is a good book to use as the step between the study guide and the exam (70-055), but there is a couple of things in the exam, that are not documented very well, or not documented at all. I can mention database access and proxy server setup.

If you read the Official FrontPage 98 from Microsoft first, and spend a lot of time using the product and it's GUI, you should be ready to pass the exam.
