Inquisitive and insightful reading
The second volume in the "Anthroposophical Commentary on the Bible 'Terms And Phrases'" series, David's Question: "What Is Man?" is an impressive, thoughtful and thought-provoking "Anthroposophical commentary on the Bible"; by lifelong Bible scholar Edward Reaugh Smith who cogently analyzes the pages of biblical text in a series of essays that provide the non-specialist general reading with a wealth of fascinating insights. Advancing the firm conviction that religion and science cannot be separated if there is only one reality, David's Question "What Is Man?" is inquisitive and insightful reading, and highly recommended for Biblical Studies reading lists and reference collections.

Dimensions of the Community College : International, Intercultural, and Multicultural Perspectives (Garland Studies in Higher Education)
Published in Library Binding by Garland Publishing (1996)
Authors: Rosalind Latiner Raby, Norma Tarrow, Rudolf Steiner, and Rosaline L. Raby
Amazon base price: $70.00
Average review score:

Essential for international higher education development
Raby and Tarrow's book provides a needed challenge to the predominant idea that higher education development in developing countries must be conducted in traditional four-year colleges and universities. This edited volume contains chapters describing successful and innovative education development programs in Asian and African countries. Along with successful program models, critical perspectives about program failure are also provided. Readers seeking adaptable models will find many ideas to replicate in different settings. This book can also serve as a good reference to donor organizations interested in suporting relevant higher education initiatives at a lower cost than is typically the case with university-affiliated programs. Many project management organizations are described in detail along with their project development experiences. Of particular interest are the innovative programs intiated by and managed in association with US community colleges. As scholars of higher education know (although it may not be as evident to development policy professionals) community colleges have become leaders in program responsiveness and innovation. This volume reveals that community college innovation reaches beyond US borders via institutional cooperation in program development internationally.

Enlivening the Chakra of the Heart: The Fundamental Spiritual Exercises of Rudolf Steiner
Published in Paperback by Sophia Books (1900)
Authors: Florin Lowndes and M. Barton
Amazon base price: $19.95
Average review score:

Enlivening of the Chakra of the Heart
Lowndes' book on Steiner's six spiritual exercises is milestone in new age literature. This book was clearly written for people who already know Steiner's work in the domain of spiritual enlightenment. This book is the first solid how-to book of meditation for those seeking to open their heart chakra; the opening of which Steiner/lowndes says is necessary for humanity's further development. Particularly interesting, is lowndes' argument that in order to develop spiritually people must add a new type of thinking to their brain-bound logical thinking. This new thinking is similar to the type of thinking which NDE-ers experience when they are floating around in an out of body state. This book serves as a good introduction to Steiner's chakra teachings and the meditatives activities necessary for opening higher faculties of claravoyance. Although the beginning is a little tough to read, later on in the book Lowndes gives concrete suggestions for ways/activities one can practice for the development of this new heart thinking.

a complete man
What can be more instructed for our every day living than this example of a man's life and work? One can hardly believe that such a character like "Abbi" Asmussen lived in our time.I had the chance to participate at a conference in Jarna few weeks before Erik Asmussen's death, being deeply impressed by the serene harmony between a man's life, his modest, intriguing and human architecture and the natural, amazing, northen environment.
Professor Gary Coates together with Suzanne Siepl Coates present and analize the inner significance of master's works, its various aspects and present &future influence on contemporary architecture.

Genetic Engineering (Lucent Overview Series)
Published in Hardcover by Lucent Books (1996)
Authors: Clarice Swisher, Rudolf Steiner, and Carol Wekesser
Amazon base price: $23.70
Average review score:

No biased info!
I found this book interesting because most books that examine controversial topics tend to hang in one direction or another, but since this book collected info. from many different viewpoints I was able to examine genetic engineering fairly without the bias found in normal books. Great for debate situations!

Hegemon: A Novel
Published in Hardcover by Vandamere Pr (1996)
Authors: Alexander M. Grace, Grace M. Alexander, and Rudolf Steiner
Amazon base price: $21.95
Average review score:

Sophisticated thriller.
It's refreshing to read a thriller that doesn't star a hero who is a martial arts expert, fluent in eight languages, an experienced jet fighter pilot, and conversant in nuclear physics. Here we have a Belgian policeman in the style of Poirot who is just more clever than anyone around. He outwits an apathetic and/or corrupt bureaucracy to defeat an unscrupulous German industrialist who is trying to foment war and disaster on the Continent to win for Germany the "hegemony" that she failed to win in two wars. There's plenty of Clancy-style military and paramilitary action in a very plausible political scenario. Frighteningly realistic.
