Find a copy, if you can, and hang onto it
Written and published 25 years ago, this is a great book about the rodeo, with something like 250 photographs of rodeo cowboys in action, many of them in color. But it's not just a picture book. The author Bill St. John is a sports writer, and he covers the subject with the kind of depth you expect from good sports writing.

His specialty is getting up-close and personal with the greats and near-greats of the sport (e.g., Larry Mahan, Donnie Gay, Jim Shoulders, Leo Camarillo), following them around, traveling with them from rodeo to rodeo, sitting up with them in motel rooms late at night, listening to their stories, and capturing their personalities in the way they talk, tell jokes, even sing songs.

St. John gives plenty of attention to the events themselves and the action in the arena, including the work of the rodeo clowns, but there's a great deal more about what goes on behind the scenes. He even devotes a chapter to rodeo stock. If you're interested in the excitement of rodeoing and the lives and personal histories of the men and women who "go on down the road," this book is a great read. Find a copy, if you can, and hang onto it.

The Unity of Christ The Monogenis
Alexandrian versus Antiochene Theology :
The Alexandrines based their Christology on john 1:14 amending it mystically with 1 Tim 3:16. They explained the Logos-sarx union with the soul-body analogy to illustrate the substantial union, an ontological oneness, between divinity and humanity in Christ. The rival theology of the Antiochenes employed the soul-body analogy to explain how the Divinity and humanity united in Christ without loosing their full integrity.

Cyril of Alexandria:
st. Cyril of Alexandria, the Christological champion for Orthodoxy, developed and exalted the theology of the famous school of Alexandria (Catechetical Didaskalia) He was trained by his uncle Theophilus of Alexandria, followed faithfully the Tradition of Alexandria from Clement, and Origen to Athanasius and Didymus, the blind. He was a great biblical expositor, and his christology is Bible based.Thomas Weinandy, debates that Cyril is the first, if not the only patristic theologian to employ the soul-body analogy properly, for different Church fathers conceive the union in Christ depending on their carrier philosophy, platonic, Stoic, or Aristotelian.

On The unity of Christ:
This book is the last of Cyrils theological essays discrediting Nestorius and his Antiochene christology, and contains his most mature teaching on the mystery of union that baffled the theologians since the fourth century. It was written in the form of a dialogue, to explain the Hypostatic Union in Christ.
(R. Yanney: Coptic Church review; vol 19, No 4)

Translator/Editor:
Fr. john McGukin, is professor of Early Church History, Union Theological Seminary, NY. He is a patristic scholar, and theologian. He wrote seven books and numerous articles, and is an expert on Cyril and Alexandrine theology. The translation is in a lucid language, with an elaborate introduction on Cyril's life and Christology. An in depth treatment of Cyril dogmatic theology, which has been revived in the last decades.

Excellent Textbook for Organizational Behavior
The Steers & Black Organizational Behavior textbook does an excellent job of covering Organizational Behavior for both undergraduate and graduate student. I've taught with several prior editions and wish that Steers would come out with a new edition. While the content of the book is still up-to-date, students have had a tendency to be turned off by the copyright date of the text. Overall, the text is well done and I'd highly recommend it for individuals desiring to gain additional information about Organizational Behavior. It also has a number of nice short personality-oriented tests which students seem to enjoy and which provide increased understanding of the concepts for the students.

Political writings
Published in Unknown Binding by Appleton-Century-Crofts ()
Author: Henry St. John Bolingbroke

Fascinating
Lord Bolingbroke is one of the most fascinating figures of the 18th century. The works collected in this volume, most importantly his "Dissertation upon Parties" and "The Idea of a Patriot King," are undeniable classics of political philosophy. Throughout, Bolingbroke expresses a strong devotion to liberty and voices even more severe criticism of government. Yet, it is surely an odd mixture, as Bolingbroke is indeed also a Tory, although, a rather Whiggish Tory if I might say so. The influence and significance of these works is hard to overestimate. In particular, they had a profound impact on the American colonists, including such giants as Jefferson and John Adams. Above all, Bolingbroke was also a fine writer, and his work is a pleasure to read.

You ought to be ashamed
The Pushcart Prize is the most wonderful and rewarding annual anthology out there because, for one thing, it's the most fair--as Bill Henderson says in his introduction, there's no money here. You don't have to have written a bestseller or be in with the "New Yorker" crowd in order to be published here. All you have to do is be a good writer. Here is fiction and poetry at its rawest and purest form, from writers who write for the sake of writing, for the sheer love of it. This is a noble thing.

Stayed up all night to read about what happened to this boy.
I'm just a housewife in North Dakota with not much time to read. But once I started reading The Rawleigh Man Told Me in the evening I could not put it down until I found out what happened to this boy. I had heard about the Orphan Trains, but this is the first time I read a personal story about one of the passengers. I recommend this book to every family, especially to children who may not know how good they really have it. It touched my heart.

Not just for the members of the Society, But all Christians
How do I begin? In this clean and concise volume the entire tapestry of the Society of St. John The Evangelist is unwound for all to see. This monastic group provides and insight to the faith and lives of those men who have devoted their lives to spreading the word of Christ and daily devotions. Each of the chapters in this book can be used for insightful reading and learning about how to approach the spreading of Christ's Love. The book can be used in study groups, as a help to write sermons, and also private study. The Rule can also be used as a starting point on making your walk with Christ more rewarding and focused. I have very much enjoyed this book, and find this 'Rule' much more contemporary and understandable than that of Saint Benedict. I highly recommend it to all.
