NPCA Field Guide to Structural Pest
This book is a complete thesis on the life cycle of structural pest. It contains information on identification and control of pest that are typically encountered in factories, warehouses and homes. I found the color plates especially useful in helping to identify pest that may be encountered at various stages of development.

Your gonna think Im the author
.

How else could anyone get so carried away with this work.

DataCAD is the greatest cad tool you will find for Architectural work and I outa know, I have TurboCad, Intellicad, Vector Works, and AutoCad, but 99% of my work is with DataCAD.

This book is NOT the manual that comes with the software, but I'm betting that it soon will be the OFFICIAL Official DataCAD manual.

Buy this book now, I have purchased two copies that have dissappeared ( well I loaned them out and can't seem to get them back ) so, looks like I'm gonna make a repeat-repeat purchase.

Comments on the author by Gary E.J. Smith
Evans is a fascinating man to listen to. He is a decorated veteran, but shuns the recognition he rightly deserves. He admits that some of his actions during the heat of combat "might have been foolhardy." Evans was not interested in medals, only in trying to keep his men alive. As Evans' Third Army Com mander, General George S. Patton remarked, "No one ever won a war by dying for his country. He won by making the other poor bastard die for his country."

Evans met several truly historical figures. First and foremost was Patton. After the first day of the Battle of Arracourt, Patton visited Evans' command post to commend him on a job well done. That was just the first of many encounters with General Patton. After hostilities ceased in 1945, Evans was assigned to a Prisoner of War camp near Landshut, Germany. There, while interrogating prisoners, he briefly met General Vlasov, another larger-than-life individual. Vlasov was a former White Russian officer who was convinced (some say coerced) to help the Nazis against the Soviet Union on the Eastern Front. Later, in Switzerland, Evans was able to get a glimpse of a compound full of Nazi war criminals, most notable of whom was Herman Goering.

Evans was also fortunate to have been able to participate in the design, testing and eventual combat deployment of the M18 "Hellcat" tank destroyer. The United States Army found that its antitank capabilities were woefully inadequate against the masses of German armor, so a new tank destroyer was desired. Evans, along with a handful of other armor officers from various posts around the US, was invited to Detroit to the Buick Division of General Motors, to offer suggestions for the design of this new vehicle. There are precious few times in a soldier's career that he is given the opportunity to impact upon the equipment he will use in the performance of his duty. Evans and these other officers seized the moment and helped to design one of the most effective combat vehicles ever. In ju! st a few short months the M18 went from the drawing board to the maneuver field and then the European Theater of Opera tions.

most useful book for rheumatology in primary care
Like most primary care physicians, I see many patients with vague rheumatologic complaints. This book is by far the most useful one I have found for discussing clearly and completely the whole spectrum of rheumatologic disease in a practical, but thorough manner. It's easy to read and easy to use. Descriptions of the pathophysiology, in particular, are excellent. Appropriate lab tests to order are also included. It's become the "most often borrowed book" in our practice---and I am in mourning until I have it back on the shelf for ready reference!

Incredible
My dear friend, Pastor Linda Forsberg gave this book to me as a birthday present in May 2002. One day I began reading the sermons and and I found the book to be a treasure! I've revisited the pages a few times and each time I see a different message.

I am one of the fortunate ones who actually attends Pastor Linda's church and have witnessed her gift. I highly recommend this book.

Excellent for Astronomy buffs and Science Fiction buffs
This book has three parts: the Starlist, the visual binary stars (includes drawn orbits), and the variable stars (includes graphs of maxima/minima). Excellent ephemerides.

The first part, the Starlist, has been an indispensable source of information. Stars are listed by constellation and includes: RA/Dec, spectral classification, absolute magnitude, apparent magnitude, distance (in light years), parallax, proper motion, direction of apparent motion (disregarding precession), space velocity, radial velocity (where known), size (in solar diameters), luminosity, and Henry Draper Catalogue star reference number (HD). There are many remarks/comments throughout, on various stars. These remarks are concise and helpful, and show Mr. Dibon-Smith's love for the field. Think of it as a one volume condensed Burnham's Celestial Handbook.

The second section of this book, visual binaries, includes the combined magnitude, apparent magnitude of each component (with a few exceptions, only the brightest pair of a multiple system), PA/Sep, and orbital information. At the end of the section is a graphic representation of the orbits of binaries with periods of 300 years or less.

The third section, variable stars. They are listed by subgroup: pulsating, eruptive, rotating, peculiar, eclipsing, and type uncertain. The first part has graphs of the maxima/minima of Mira type stars, and some semiregular variable stars. Part three also lists type of variable, maximum range, epoch, period, and best viewing dates.

That's not all this book offers. There is a section on computer programs (in BASIC) to find: day of the week (given the Julian date), Julian date (given the calendar date), calendar date/day of the week (given the Julian date), position of a star (given the RA/Dec and latitude/longitude of the observer), RA on the meridian (given the calendar date), midnight transit of a star (given the RA), and the approximate date of maxima of a long-period variable. Another section lists stars by RA. Another section identifies star names (fun if you had no idea where Zubenalgubi is...it's Sigma Librae). The bibliography and indices are also helpful.

I learned that this book is also tons-o-fun for the science fiction buff, too. So, the space ninja chased the nasty asteroid pirates all the way to Phi Eridani, did they? Well, now you'll know that Phi Eridani is a B8 V, and 180 light years away.

Seriously, this book has been indispensable. It's fun to browse though for kicks, and it's extremely helpful if you're into Astronomy.

Very Provocative
After reading the first chapter, I was taken in by the sophistication of this work. It is very deep, and the reader should choose a quiet place with pencil and paper in hand.

One of the most important goals of this work is to establish that modern philosophers (e.g., poststructuralists) did not mean that Ethics are relative - thus values education is not dead yet.

A True American Journey
This is an incredible book co-authored by Bob and Elizabeth Dole. The book is very honest and heartwarming because they each get a chance to tell their side of the story. I know that Mr. Dole has a hard time when it comes to talking about his injury during World War II and in the book, he describes what happened in Italy in 1945 so vividly that I thought I was watching the whole thing happen all over again while I was reading this book. I admires Mrs. Dole for being a trail-blazer as one of the few women to graduate from Harvard Law School the the mid 1960's when women were expected to go to school and learn how to be homemakers and they were expected to settle down, get married, and raise a family. Instead of following the conventional rules, Mrs. Dole goes out and overcomes many obstacles. I admire the Doles for sharing their story. I brought this book in the summer of 1996, just a few weeks before the Republican Convention and after reading this book, I realized that this is a side of Bob and Elizabeth Dole that the media does not show. The book was well worth it!
