The Basics, A Rhetoric and Handbook
The Basics is an easy to read and follow plan for teaching ESL essay writing. As an ESL teacher, I look for books that are suitable for students with varied language ability. This book offers a means for students to develop their writing skills through directed writing. The process begins with prewriting and works through several steps to get to the final product. The Basics also offers lessons on the most common language writing problems, such as articles, subject/verb agreement, plurals, and others. I recommend this book for ESL teachers and students looking for a comprehensive text for writers.

Great tape!
I bought this tape after having several incidents of road rage. It really helped me put my anger into perspective and realize that getting mad on the road was a waste of time. Whenever I feel myself getting tense when driving, I pop in the tape and listen to the great advice and relaxation techniques. It is a definite help to anyone who gets aggressive when driving or knows someone who does.

An excellent biography of a fascinating man.
The author does a first-rate job of recounting McCormick's life, going far in seperating the man from the public image that we have of him today. Balanced and judicious, it also makes for excellent reading, as Smith presents McCormick's life in an engaging manner. If there is a flaw in the book, it is in Smith's failure to adequately explain how the view of McCormick as a hidebound reactionary came to overshadow many aspects of his life, such as his early career as a progressive in local politics, or his legal campaigns in support of the First Amendment. This is a must-read book for anybody interested in Chicago's past, the evolution of modern journalism, or the history of twentieth century America.

Excellent explanation and recommendations for relief
As a certified massage therapist, I work on many people with this "CRS." The authors' suggestions for exercise are what I've seen recommended by the physical therapist I work with, and I've seen results. Of course, massage is very beneficial, and I was glad to see it was also recommended to provide some pain relief. The only way to truly beat the chronic pain cycle is through good posture and strengthening/stretching, and the authors do a good job of providing effective, easy to perform exercises. There is a way to gain relief from this chronic problem...it may require a little work on the part of the sufferer, but follow the suggestions given in the book, and you may soon be pain free. I've seen it work. I plan on giving this book to all my favorite clients for Christmas.

Great Choice
As a long time visiter to the Owens Valley I found this book to be excellent. Its great for the first time traveler or the person who has been to the valley many times. Its section on side roads is good for those passing through the area and wanting to explore a bit. The history and geology areas are current and answer those questions that arise when encountering the vast numbers of different geological features. While no one guide does it all this book comes close. A great book for those who want a general guide to the valley, its history, geology, flora and fauna.

Demon Night Synopsis
Red Sonja: Demon Night

"She lived in a savage world in an uncivilized age - a world ruled by men and governed by the sword. They called her Red Sonja - for her flame red hair and the smoldering fire of her pride. Falsely charged with the murder of a commander to whom she had sworn allegiance, Red Sonja must flee or be killed without a chance to clear her name. Deep in the desert she encounters the city of Elkad, and, exhausted, seeks shelter there. She enters the city against her better judgment, for hanging before the gates are the shriveling bodies of six young women, clearly the victims of some blood-thirsty ritual....." A great book - fantastic action and interesting characters - One of the most fascinating aspects is the obsession of Red Sonja's pursuers....It's unfortunate that these books are out of print, they certainly beat some of today's fantasy offerings.....
