Excellent Book to start Aerodynamics
I strongly recommend this book for those who are studying their first courses in aerodynamics. It is indeed clear, easy to understand, and, above all, very illustrated. In point of fact, I have liked aerodynamics because of this book. I used this book in my first course in aerodynamics instead of the required book given by my university (K.F.U.P.M), which was " Fundamentals of Aerodynamics written by John D. Anderson, because it avoids the complexity of derivations of equations, which might be the nightmare for some aerodynamics students particularly the beginners. Over and above this, I have been very willing and interested in reading the text because the authors have avoided tautology. Furthermore, I have digested a lots of concepts because of its very clear figures which have made a great impression on me, you know, one picture worth a 1000 words as the saying goes.

As far as the examples given in each chapter are concerned, I believe that the authors should have added extra examples in order to see the applications of the important theories and their equations. Anyhow, some of the provided examples did come in my major exams.

Like other aerodynamics books I have seen, this book does not provide the students with the solution of the problems given at the end of each chapter. I found that some of the theoretical questions given at the end of each chapter were among the questions my instructor used to give us in his quizzes, major, and final exams. The other thing I don not like about this book, similar to other aerodynamics books, is that it does not have a glossary. Thus, Students will have to read the text to find the definitions of the new terms. However, the definitions given are easy to memorize and comprehend as well.

For those who are interested in full derivations of equations, I believe that this book will not be very helpful to them. They should buy " Fundamentals of Aerodynamics written by John D. Anderson" immediately.

I believe very strongly that using both of the books I mentioned above will enable the student to pass his/her course with flying colors. I am sure as eggs are eggs that they will come in handy in quizzes, majors, final exams, plus term projects. I used both of them and I got "B". Believe you me, you will make it God willing, as I did.

Good information and guidance for the do it yourselfer
I brought this book and really after reading it I was impress with the information. It gave me useful information especially as a person who know nothing about landscaping but knew what I wanted my home to look like. This book gave me detail information on how to begin, how to plan, how to lay my ideas out on paper and then on the ground. So buy it is great! The book was refreshing in its approach to the topic it was small enough to not scare me yet big enough to hold all the key points. This book is one of the most useful on the market that I've read and belive me I've read my share and besides the good information they did not try to sell me a design just straight useful information.

Alterity and Transcendence

A Systematic Search for Values
When I bought this book, I was attempting to catch the crest of a wave in philosophy, expecting a lot of mental activity in the wake of the death of Levinas (1906-1995) to help put my frame of values within the scope of current thought. But I'm more of a modern fragmentist~thinking through expectations is a realm of impossibilities, and not just for me. I had previously struggled with his TOTALITY AND INFINITY, which pits the urge to control multiplicty by having a system that defines a totality against the limitless possibilities offered by multiplicity itself. A reader may find that effort like a good game of chess: being able to visualize a strategy for winning keeps the sense of involvement high, but any attempt to be more involved than Levinas would obviously be a strain. When ALTERITY & TRANSCENDENCE becomes available in paperback, it might be a better guide for those who would like to see what values Levinas was pursuing. I could confine myself to a single page (177) in an interview published in 1985 for my efforts to comprehend the complexity of his answer to the idea, "To religion would belong the task of consolation, not of demonstration." Levinas took the opportunity to demonstrate the existence of an even greater evil. "The seducer knows all the ploys of language and all its ambiguities. . . . The most dangerous of seducers is the one who carries you away with pious words to violence and contempt for the other man." Instead of trying to create a clear distinction between religion and philosophy, Levinas showed an awareness of the ways of this world, where any dialectic is capable of being a threat to human freedom when it declares war on that for which it expresses disapproval. This is theology when it involves "the voice and 'accent' of God in the Scriptures themselves." As a modern fragmentist, I have hopelessly confused what is actually written there, but that tendency is as strong as the urge to associate The Beach Boys with songs about surfing.

Good Solar Fun
As an environmental educator, I am always searching for good activities to teach kids about nature and astronomy. This book is an excellent source of projects to teach kids about solar energy and general information about the sun. The activities contain easy to find materials and encourages recycling. The best project is constructing a solar oven out of a pizza box. Since most solar ovens are either expensive to buy or hard to construct, this project was the single reason I bought the book. There are many other ideas that would be easy for an educator to add to their lessons or classes, or for a parent to help their kids do something fun and educational!

No clues!
This is a fun book if your child is into Blue's Clues. Lots of familiar characters hiding with hints so your child can guess who's hiding before lifting the flap. One warning though, there's no Blue's Clues game in the book, and no clues hanging about, so if that's what you're after, try one of the other books.

An intelligent, informative history of Christ's church
This book gives you a readable, comprehensive and insightful history of Christianity between the years 300 - 800. If you get the other book in this series (From Christ to Constantine), you will have a very good and thorough starter on the first 800 years of Christian history, an absolutely vital period in the development of church history.

The period that this covers was absolutely crucial in church history. Many different errors and heresies arose regarding everything from the person of Christ, the Trinity, to relations between church and state, and Smith covers them well and keeps you interested. Many modern religious movements share many of these erroneous characteristics, so it is fascinating and educational to learn how these problems were dealt with by the church fathers. Remember, these were some of the greatest thinkers ever in Christendom, and Smith quotes from their letters and writings, to really let you get to know what they are thinking.

The narrative style of this book makes it very easy to read, and its comprehensive illustrations and notes makes it into a good resource for anyone. Yet its not too big, about the size of a medium paperback, not some massive tome that you'll never finish. The book gave me the impression of being thoroughly researched, intellectual but not high-brow, clear and factual in its setting out of the facts, and well thought out in its interpretation of the events. If this is the only book on Christian history for this period that you read, you will at least have a good grounding. But I assure you, if you read this, you will want to read more church history, I know I did! Nothing else I have read though, is as good as this.

Michael Smith, it is clear from the book, is an Evangelical Christian, with a good understanding of the Gospel. He appears to me to be orthodox in his views, neither conservative nor liberal. I found myself fully in agreement with his interpretation of events, and I really learned a lot (the ramifications of the battle of Milvian Bridge in 323AD, were a real revelation to me, and quite profoundly increased my understanding of medieval and modern denominational development!).

If you're interested in Church History, whether you already know a lot or even nothing at all but would like to, this book is what I would recommend over all others. Even if you think you already know this period, this book may give you new insights.

If you can find this book, get it, read it, and hang on to it for dear life!

Little pig, little pig, let me in
This manual was a good tool while dissecting my pig. The pictures were in color and showed great detail. The only set back is that there are no directions for the actual dissection.

Also recommend: Anatomy & Dissection of the fetal pig. By: Walker, W.F. (5th Ed)

I wish it could have been longer.....
This is an excellent collection of essays by black male writers, excluding the gay part, because as mentioned time and again in many of these essays they must come to terms with their African-American heritage before they even think of coming to terms with their sexuality. I only wish that some of the essays were longer and some not edited. Essays that stood out for me were Coloring Outside the Lines, The Letter, and Dearest Brother Set. They and many others have helped me to evaluate the inner predjudice that lies within the gay community itself, a community whose so called main goal was to establish equality. Don't get me wrong, not all of these essays were like that but of those chosen for this book, essays of that matter were the ones that stood out the most.

Mormonism Unveiled
This book is yet another fascinating study between Joseph Smith's words versus those finally printed in the Book of Mormon. A very interesting read.
