An excellent book, fabulous poems, fantastic illustrations
I love Golden Books, I grew up on them. When I got older I figured out why - Eloise Wilkin was the best illustrator! I had many of books with her illustratons. I used to think that they were actually about me, that is how wonderful her aristry is! When I found this book, I knew that I had to buy this for my baby. As it is, reading is one of the most important things that you can do for your baby, so I love to sit down and read the poems to my 8 month old son. This book just can't be beat.

Best book of poetry for young children
This is the best collection of poems for children and the illustrations cannot be beat. Bought this book 20 years ago for grandchildren and now are buying more for their children. I am so glad it is back in print.

My Favorite Book of Poetry!
This is a simply exceptional book! It called be called nothing less than a "classic." Every child and adult will want to read these poems again and again. I still quote from the poems, "Bedtime" and "High-heeled Shoes," more than twenty years after I first learned them. I can't wait to read these poems to my own children someday!

Artemis in Echo Park
Published in Hardcover by Firebrand Books (1991)
Author: Eloise Klein Healy
Amazon base price: $18.95
Average review score:

By A True Echo Park Local
Healy has not only lived in Echo Park for a number of years, she has a strong local and literary following for her evocative writings. "Artemis in Echo Park" truly brings forth the magic and mystery of this place.

Bright and Moving
This collection of poems moved me like no other. Poems like The Introductions and Now I Find My House is Not Safe made me say to myself "wow, someone has lived this, too, but has a better grasp on how to say it." Eloise Klein Healy must be a most gentle and strong woman and clearly someone with thoughtfulness which goes way beyond the norm. I would recommend this book to anyone - particularly to women of all ages who have had relationships with women and know the intensity and pressure of such.

Old favorite
Too bad this is out of print! It was one of my favorites when I was a baby. Our family's copy is so old and beat up from being read thousands of times, I can't give it to my daughter. I wish it were in print! My dad actually photocopied the pages and had it bound at Kinko's so my daughter could have a copy of this book. It's bulky and awkward, but she loves it as much as my brother and I did.

My Favorite Book as a Child
This is such a wonderful book, and I'm only hoping I can find it for my daughter, as it's out of print. This was my favorite book when I was little, and the melodic prose is as as memorable as the beautiful illustrations by Eloise Wilkin. Here it is thirty years later and I can still quote the beginning: "These are the things that baby hears when he listens hard with his little ears." A wonderful book for bedtime.

Eloise a Paris (Eloise in Paris) French Edition
Published in Hardcover by French and European Publishing, Inc. (1999)
Author: Kay Thompson
Amazon base price: $39.95

I laughed through the whole book
I think this is the best of the Eloise books. I read it as a child and still remember the picture of her walking down the street using baguettes as skis. What a coquine! I think the more French you know the funnier the book is--partly because many pages have a hilarious hash of French and English words. My 7-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter also loved it, although they might just have picked up on my mood. I just couldn't stop laughing. I'm not sure whether Kay Thompson's text or Hilary Knight's illustrations are the best part. A real romp through the streets of Paris.

Mais oui, toujours!
A fantastic visit to the most superb city in the world, conducted by the world's most superb six year old! You simply must read this book, as all the other Eloise books, perfect for children and precocious adults alike.

This big kid adores Eloise
I read Eloise when I was about 6 or 7, 32 years ago, and I have never forgot the precocious, messy, FUN little girl I met in these books. Her life in the hotel and the pranks and tricks she pulled were so delicious! She is a very warm memory of my childhood and I recently bought her books just so I could have them to read again to my children, grandchildren and hopefully, great-grand children. Okay, okay, I admit it, I wanted them for myself! : ) They are fantastic books greatly enhanced by Hilary Knight's illustrations (who also drew for the Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle series) and I recommend them to any one looking for an imaginative book to share with their child.

Such FUN for "Precocious Grown Ups!"
At last! Books the I can read to my kids (ages 9 & 10) that amuse ME as well as them, and not just because the pictures are great! Even the 2 year old enjoys Eloise, and who wouldn't?

I cannot BELIEVE that my mother didn't introduce me to the joys of Eloise when I was a child, but perhaps it's best this way, when I am truly able to appreciate these wonderful books!

Musical and saucy
My 5 year old daughter loves this book. She loves the rhythmic style and how you can really hold the "honey I love..." until the next page. The little girl in the book describes various situations that she loves to do with her family and her friends. You can read it straight or read it with hands-on-the-hip, saucy attititude. It's a great read aloud book.

This book is full of spirited poems for one and all.
Honey, I Love is a great book. This is the book I most love written by Eloise Greenfield. Some of the poems in the book remind me of my life as a "little kid". I read this book in fourth grade and loved it ever since. This is a great book for young students, as well as, older ones. The poem in the book entitled, "Honey, I Love", is inspiring to me. I read that poem and feel as if I'm the little girl in the poem. The other poems are also very nice, inspiring, and unique. I would definetely reccommend this book to the young ones. I feel as if they could relate to it. I love this book. It is a wonderfully fantastic book and I commend Mrs. Eloise Greenfield for writing it. Mrs. Greenfield is a very talented writer. I hope to write children's books like her one of these days. "Honey, I love", I love this book HONEY!

Toddler loves
Since my little boy has been 2 he wants this book to read just before bed. The rhyme is sweet and simple, though you should know that the book is very short and the rhymes aren't great..."how many hairs...millions, billions, trillions..." ahhh, a bit ridiculous, but all that matters is my little boy is happy.

THIS IS A WONDEFUL BOOK!
MY DAUGHTER LOVES THIS BOOK. THE WORDS ARE SIMPLE, THE PICTURES ARE BEAUTIFUL, AND THE CONCEPT IS ONE ANY CHILD CAN UNDERSTAND. HANNAH HAS ALWAYS BEEN A READER, BUT THIS WAS ONE OF HER FIRST, AND SHE STILL LOVES IT.

Beautiful illustrations!
This simple, short book has wonderful, sweet illustrations! It is my 20 month old's favorite... she actually brings it to me AND will sit in my lap withOUT the book and show me all the body parts used in the book. The above review is excellent! I love to give this as a gift. I highly highly recommend it. :)
