'Celebration' deserves to be celebrated!
This book is, in a word, fabulous. The text is concise, yet flavorful, and of course the subject matter (Orson Welles) is ALWAYS interesting, but the real wealth here is in those delectable photographs. The barrage of images starts with the cover and doesn't quit until the last page. All of them are tasteful, well-chosen, and evocative. A must for any Orson Welles fan...

Revolutionary...for a Grade 1 student
I first purchased this book when I was in grade 1, and it shocked all of my friends-even the 'supermature' grade twos. But besides being a satyriatics wet-dream-cum-true, it's a clear and visionary look at the revolutionary art movement that took North America by storm in the 1960s. The School even leaked into up here from the States. It's also full of colour plates-tantalising samples of the art as it appeared originally in full colour.

Dinnerstein's style reflects a thoroughly modern eye
Simon Dinnerstein: Paintings And Drawings showcases the impressive and original work (1967-1999) of a significant contemporary American realist. Dinnerstein's style reflects a thoroughly modern eye for abstract design combined with social commentary. This 126-page compendium of his work features 81 color plates (including 3 gatefolds), and 20 black-and-white reproductions on permanent alkaline paper. Of particular interest for the students and connoisseurs studying the man and his work are the brief, informative essays by Guy Davenport (The Art of Simon Dinnerstein); Miller Williams (Coming to Know Simon Dinnerstein: The Art and the Artist); John Russell (In Dinnerstein's Painting, an Echo Chamber); Robert L. McGrath To See and Be Seen: The Fulbright Triptych of Simon Dinnerstein); Rudolf Arnheim (Pictures of the Lasting World); and Edward J. Sullivan (The Urban View in the Art of Simon Dinnerstein. Very highly recommended for personal, professional, and art history collections, Simon Dinnerstein's images are further enhanced by his brief text about his work, a list of his awards, one-man and group exhibitions, public and corporate collections, and selected publications for further study.

SPADA - Anthology of Swordsmanship
SPADA is a journal that contains some of most current ideas on historical swordsmanship by a number of the field's leading researchers. As a student of historical swordsmanship myself, I think it is an excellent step in the right direction for the progression of this school of study.

As far as the contents of the book are concerned, my hat goes off to the editor, Stephen Hand, for distilling such a diverse, and yet interesting range of papers from the vast array of excellent treatises available.

The book also features some interesting reports on some of the most recent activities undertaken in the WMA community. This provides the reader with a very good 'big picture' perspective into what advances are being made in what fields, and an appreciation for the vast range of people who are now interested in historical swordsmanship.

With regards to it's practicality, the book caters for many different tastes - whether you are interested in the finesse of renaissance fencing, or simply a medieval re-enactor using the trusty 'sword and shield' method. SPADA provides useful insights and a greater understanding of historical methods of fighting.

I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in gaining a greater appreciation of historical swordsmanship, and anyone who is curious to know what the swordmanship community out there is doing. I rate it as a 'must have' item, and I look forward to more SPADA releases in the future.

cheers

It is needless to say that the book is marvelous.
In the chapter on tuberculosis and other mycobacterial diseaes starting on page 1094 chapter 35. In page 1095 it is quoted from reference 12 by Sidiqi et al published in 1984 in the Am Rev Respir Dis, that mycobacterium TB is not inhibted by NAP. I might be wrong, but I think the original paper by Sidiqi mentions the reverse, i.e., NAP inhibits the growth of mycobacterium TB. Please for your comment. Thanks

Relativity made clear
This is the best introductory exposition of relativity theory ever written. As a book, it occupies that strange middle ground between fiction and non-fiction, much like the Magic Schoolbus books (where should the librarian put them?), but it is for a somewhat older age group. By somewhat older, I mean only that it has fewer pictures: I'd put it in with all the Milton Bradley/Parker Brothers games, and say it's for ages 8 to 80. For ANYONE who is interested in relativity, no matter what their age, this book is a perfect place to start. Check your library, and if you can't find it try to place an "out of print" order. This book is a gem.

A small price for a huge return!
I found the tiny perfect dinosaur series to be truly wonderful! The books are full of colorful pictures and facts depicted in a way that is captivating to children of all ages. The bones are a real bonus too adding a real dimensional concept. At my son's school, this month's study is dinosaurs. He took the series to school for show 'n tell and the children loved it. His teacher chose to borrow the books, reading them aloud for storytime.

A Wilde Review
An excellent retrospective of the work of John Wilde as he achieves his eightieth year.Ranking as one of Wisconsins, and indeed the Nations major artists, Wilde has always commanded respect among a fervid group of collectors and artists. The book is handsomely illustrated with 104 full page color plates dating from his earliest years to the present. Wildes forte of Magic Realism done with perfect draughtsmanship shows that there are no old masters, only masters. For all who enjoy nature and nudes, astounding juxtapositions and above all, fine art meticulously done, the book will be a pleasant surprise. A large book, well made, well illustrated and a welcome addition to the art lovers library.
