Energy Healing
Donna Eden's Energy Medicine has made the human energy system clearly understandable and accessible. She shows us that it is within our daily reach to be able to strengthen and maintain our own vitality to support our own healing and reminds us all that the journey to health and wellness is one that we must walk with consciousness and awareness. Thank you to Donna for demystifying the very essence of human health and well-being! I use the book daily and the exercises have helped me to manage stress and to break through some habitual and unhealthy patterns in my life. A wonderful book! A must for anyone working with energy healing. Blessings!

Essential Energy Healing Reference Book
Donna Eden's book, ENERGY MEDICINE, is a priceless addition to any energy healer's book shelves. In simple language with clear illustrations, Eden outlines ways to release stress, restore energies, escape the grip of fear, concentrate in the midst of fear and stress, feel joyful more often, overcome digestive problems, mend broken arms and legs, overcome nervousness, calm people (and yourself), relieve arthritic pain, relieve muscle cramps, relieve low back pain, and regain control when feeling hysterical.

I would be thrilled with any book that so clearly outlines techniques for helping people with such a wide variety of ailments, aches and pains, but ENERGY MEDICINE goes several steps further. Eden describes the body's energy meridians, chakra balancing, and how to do the "celtic weave". As Eden explains, "The Celtic weave, as an energy system, laces through all your other energy systems and creates a resonance among them. It is the weaver of your force fields. It holds your entire energetic structure together. As an exercise, you use the Celtic weave to pulse your aura's energies outward and to strengthen them. The exercise also connects all your energies together so they operate as a single web. Touch one strand, anywhere, and your whole system reverberates in harmony."

I love the way ENERGY MEDICINE includes a vast assortment of fascinating real-life stories of energy healings that Donna Eden has been involved in, including her own recovery from being bitten by a poisonous insect in Fiji. The shamans in Fiji treated Donna for her bite by burying her up to her neck in sand for long stretches several times over a two day period, believing the toxins would be drained into the sand. Donna recovered her full health in Fiji, and shortly thereafter began her studies of energy healing.

I highly recommend ENERGY MEDICINE to anyone with an interest in energy healing. Experienced energy healers and novices can all find much of great value in this essential reference book.

Healing With Energy
ENERGY MEDICINE is a brilliant, comprehensive and comprehensible book on the many modalities of healing with energy. Donna Eden shows us that by working with energy we can restore harmony on all levels when it is lost. The book provides very specific and easily learned techniques for releasing negative energy and recreating a healthy flow of energy. The book contains ancient and not so ancient practices from all over the world and many helpful suggestions for specific concerns. If you are struggling with a chronic dis-ease this book is full of useful practices that will open the doors to healing. Best of all Donna's example of healing from serious illness shows us that when harmony is restored all is possible. If you are interested in growing in spirit the exercises will help maintain balance and deepen connection to vital life force. I recently attended a lecture given by Donna in Boston. Donna's ebullient joyful spirit, her physical vitality and her loving compassion speak eloquently of what is possible for us all in working to cleanse and strengthen our whole selves. ENERGY MEDICINE is a book that can really help us do just that. I highly recommend.

Informative and useful....
When you were a child and fell and hurt yourself, do you recall your first instinct was to press your hand over the hurt and hold it? Or maybe you remember sounds, colors, or smells that comforted you when you were sick. Ted Andrews uses the example of the hand held hurt to demonstate to the reader of THE HEALER'S MANUAL that many of his techniques are instinctual. Unfortunately, as we grow older we may tend to forget these simple truths or stop beliving in them as effective remedies.

Andrews divides his book into sections, each dealing with therapies that affect the five senses. My favorites are smell, sound, and sight. I've known for a long time certain scents like Lavendar and Eucalyptus are healing, and that certain kinds of music can lower my blood pressure. I'm also affected by color..yellow can perk me up and blue calms me down.

Andrews discusses many techniques I know will work because I've tried them, and others I sense will work that I have not yet tried. I have doubts about some like healing elixers from gems, but I keep an open mind and a positive outlook. Like the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland, I believe in at least six impossible things before breakfast. It's amazing how many of them come true by dinnertime.

overview of the spiritual healing arts
Knowledgeably written; asks the important question of what different ailments might symbolize for the patient (my stomach hurts: is there something in my life I can't "digest"?). Could stand to lose some of the New Age sci-lingo ("vibrational," etc.); needs more on distance healing.

The Healer's Manual
Ted Andrews's book, The Healer's Manual: A Beginner's Guide to Energy Therapies is "a manual for helping yourself . . . it will show you that you can control and heal more aspects of your life than you probably ever imagined."

Energy (vibrational) therapies are based on the senses. They include healing through touch, color, sound, taste, and smell. Andrews explains exactly what each therapy is and then explains how to use them to heal yourself as well as others. His explanations are written in easy-to-understand terms.

He starts by defining holistic health and detailing the human energy system. He says that "health is the ideal balance between all major parts of our being--body, mind, and soul--in conjunction with our environment and all that we encounter." He emphasizes throughout the book that all healing comes from within, and that individuals must assume responsibility for their own health.

Andrews discusses how the body is a complex energy system and explains that "vibrational remedies are subtle energy stimuli which interact with the energy systems of the human body to help stabilize and correct physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual conditions." He provides a complete description of the chakras, which control all the energy entering or leaving the body, along with information on balancing each chakra.

The bulk of the book is devoted to techniques and exercises for using vibrational therapies in healing. The exercises are generally quite simple and don't require the purchase of expensive equipment or supplies. For example, many of the color therapy techniques can be done with pieces of colored fabric or paper. Some sound healing can be done by running up and down the scales in a certain way.

The appendices include special information on alleviating pain and long distance, or absent, healing. He also includes a chart of major ailments and the specific therapies recommended for each. Andrews emphasizes that his recommendations are not prescriptive, but are guidelines only, meant only to help with understanding how vibrational therapies work.

Andrews wrote his book to "provide an opportunity, for anyone willing to put forth the effort, to experience the innate healing ability that resides within us all." Following his recommendations does not require that you be "gifted." Readers interested in learning how to stimulate their healing abilities will find the Healer's Manual informative and practical.

Love and Compassion Abound!
This is the book I require my Level I students to read before their first class -- especially those not familiar with energy work. It is very informative and overviews all aspects of Reiki, without being overly detailed. It is beautifully illustrated and includes many quotes from students. It is my opinion that this is the best introductory Reiki book in print. It's energy is pure love.

Beautiful, well written, and very usefull and informative
I am a Reiki Master/Teacher and I include this publication in my Reiki I classes. Everyone loves it. I recommend it as a text book along with what ever other material you use in your classes.

Beautifully Illustrated
This book, in addition to providing a basic grounding in Reiki principles, is also beautifully illustrated with photographs, that are enjoyable to look at without even reading the well-written text. I haven't completely read the book yet, so I think it would be unfair to comment on text.

Not for beginners
I'm a huge fan of the Five Tibetans, and this is a great little book for people who are already fit and experienced in yoga-type exercises. For anyone else, however, I strongly recommend Peter Kelder's "Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth", Book 1 or 2, instead (one of Kelder's books introduced this author to the exercises). Kelder tells you how to start gradually and build up repetitions. He gives you tips for doing the exercises safely, and alternate ways to do them effectively when you are starting out and not yet strong, flexible, or confident enough to do them fully. Kelder's Book 2 has more detail, but I started with Book 1 and it was more than adequate. Kilham's book contains none of this basic information, which makes it suitable for practitioners of other Eastern physical movement like yoga or Qi-Gong but difficult for people without that experience. I do very much agree with him that breathing enhances the exercises. Beginners may want to get comfortable with the exercises first, and then add the breathing. If you want some simple exercises you can do in less than 10 minutes, anywhere, with no equipment, where you'll really get results - the Five Tibetans are awesome!

tremendous improvement in doing and enjoying the five rites
thank you very much for the continious improvement in my physical and mental aspect and inspering gratitued while doing the the five tibetans:five dynamic exercise . my bloted tumy ,leg joints hand and finger joints, ribcage pain, hipjoint back joint are improving more and more .my wife alse says you looks bright and energyitic and my working friends also noticed many changes in me in 41 days on my continious exercises i have recomended to about 20 friends about the five tibetans exercise and many are doing the five rites and experiance many changes and also permited to read the book foundatiom of youth which i bought in singapore .thank you very much for the founder of the FIVE TIBETANS :DYNAMIC EXERCISES FOR HEALYH ENERGY AND PERSONAL POWER age 54

The Five Tibetans
I have been doing the Five Rites since 1996 ( It is now July of 2003). Can't begin to say enough good about them. Bad back, tennis elbow, arthritis in shoulder, all gone. Each left in the reverse order of onset after approximately 4 to 6 months of doing the rites. My energy level increased, I was able to begin riding a bicycle again and now am an avid bicyclist doing abut 15 to 20 miles each night after work and about 50 on a weekend. Just completed a 100 mile ride in under 7 hours. (Not bad at 53 years old). At the onset of the Five rites I began to loose weight and keep it off as well as drop from a 38 to 34 waist. My energy and strength make me feel like I am in my early 30's. I think the key is dedication to the Rites. I recommend this book to everyone.

Integration is the key!
This book aids individuals interested in integrating their religious beliefs, physical and mental health, and connecting with the scared through body, mind, and soul.

A wonderful piece of work, full of instruction and examples. A definate user friendly/teach yourself book! Written well and made to digest in small do-able pieces.

One of the best
This is one of the best books I've ever read on chakra energy. The author writes with authority and great clarity on the subject. She explains the many facets of chakra energy and its meaning from diverse cultural and mythological perspectives. The book provides detailed chapters on the aspects of each chakra and how the energy generated effects the physical body, the mental focus and the universal connection to Spirit. She gives practical steps the reader can use to channel chakra energy. This is a great book for yoga teachers or those involved in the healing arts. The techniques shared can be incorporated into workshops, healing circles and study groups or used by the individual truth seeker.

Good informational book for those in the Medical Profession
This is more a beginners guide to Reiki in the Medical Profession than anything else. Many of the ideas of where Reiki is from are outdated. Though for the most part the information is based on the Reiki tradition.

I was disappointed by the lack of in-depth techniques and information on HOW to apply Reiki in these situations. This is a "What is Reiki" and "How Reiki can benefit your profession" book. A beginners information guide again. Good for it's purpose.

The one thing I was upset by was the complete lack of discussion on the Ethics in Reiki. Even going so far as to tell people to do Reiki on people before asking permission. To me, a Reiki/Seichim Teacher the Ethics are some of the most important information to pass on.

Reiki Energy Medicine
Hi I took a class from Libby & Maggie for me it was A Review class. I have an Reiki Teaching and healing practrice. I found the class and the book to be very helpful,in understanding Reiki. It worked well with any level of Reiki or experience that one has with this system. I found the book to be clear and since it was not "airy fairly" I could tell my "main stream" students to buy it without fear that they would be scared away. I liked the clear photo's Angelic Reiki BLessings. Gigi Benanti Norwalk ct

Fantastic!
As an RN, and a CRNA, I found this text especially appealing. Good explanations of just what reiki is about are extremely helpful. As I have just recieved my reiki 1 attunements, I found many of the suggestions very helpful to my practice of anesthesia, and reiki! Thanks and well done!

No new information....
I got nothing new in this book. When I got my attunements from my teacher, I got all the same info from the accomapnying manual by William Rand. Besides, I felt that the print in the book was like reading a draft on MS word!! The book was over-priced for what it gives the reader (considering you have to take a class anyway to get the attunements). Very disappointing.

This book is just what I have been waiting for - SUPERB
This is a wonderful book, obviously written from the heart by a person with a lot of experience with Karuna Reiki. I love all the suggestions for combining the symbols. Working with the meditations and journal have been powerful experiences for me. I learned so much more than I did in my Karuna class. I hope to go Sedona, Arizona one day and repeat the class with the author. Thank you!

Wonderful Book-Highly Recommended
While reading this book I felt a strong feeling of peace and happiness. I could feel the presence of the Archangels. I loved all the additional information in this book. Especially the reference to crystals and the meditation to connect to the Angelic Realms. The treatment techniques for specific illnesses are wonderful.

The cover is beautiful and the type is crisp, clear and so easy on the eyes. It was a joy to read, and I will return to it as a reference many times.

Siddhartha
this was an exilerating expierence. Cox liked it very much. Th motions of the characters were lavishing. However, it only gets a two in my book beacause there wasn't enough passion in it.

I wouldn't read this book unless...
I wouldn't read this book unless I had a highlighter in my hand. It is full of wisdom that can be absorbed by anyone whether they are just beginning a journey of self discovery or have all ready reached enlightenment. The author can make you believe he actually lived in ancient China by the way he paints vivid pictures with his words. I became so absorbed I felt sometimes I was living and traveling with the Taoist monks and sharing their adventures. The book is very easy to understand and enjoyable to read. It will make you wonder about the possibilities of the Human potential. I advise you to buy it!

A Gift Lovingly Given and Humbly Received
The Immortal's Gift is perhaps one of the most important books ever written on the most important subject of all, Life. All too often books that deal with the growth and progression of the soul speak in vague, abstract ideas that are impossible to grasp. The struggles and triumphs of the main character, Hunglu, are so universal, I felt as though this book were written for me. I identified with so many things about the character and couldn't believe how many things in the book I've experienced to some degree. This may be the best teaching tool I've seen on this thing called life! This is a reference that I will return to time and time again. This is not only a great place for anyone wishing to understand Tai Chi to start, but it is a great beginning for anyone who wishes to realize the loving potential of their soul.

Reiki the Healing Touch : First and Second Degree Manual (Revised and Expanded Edition)

A great Reiki book!
William Lee Rand has managed to write a Reiki book that is both spiritual and practical. His reference to the sourse of Reiki and the higher power, the need for compassion and it's relationship to healing helps us remember the real purpose of healing.

The fact that he has studied with so many different teachers from different lineages has given him a very broad understanding. You can sense the respect he has for all Reiki people and the fact that he promotes harmony in the Reiki community is very important to the health and well being of all of us involved with Reiki.

At the sametime, it is a very practical and down to earth Reiki book. He has done research in Japan and also taken classes from Japanese Reiki masters so that his Reiki information is based on facts and on original information from Japan, rather than second hand information that has wandered from the original intent of Reiki. He also includes all the hand positions for both self and others and important information on the Japanese Reiki Techniques that were taught by Dr. Usui and the Hayashi Healing Guide which are really necessary if one is to understand how Dr. Usui practiced Reiki. He has also provide very helpful information on developing your Reiki practice and becoming a Reiki master which I have found useful in getting my practice started. It also includes some of the best information on the Reiki symbols I have found.

This book is one of the clearest and easist to understand of all the Reiki books I have read. I truely feel that he comes from the heart and has done his best to create a very helpful and informative Reiki manual.

Excellent course manual
I highly recommend this book to all Reiki Masters, and to those students who feel like their Reiki I and/or II training lacked depth and clarity. I have to disagree with the previous few reviewers who slammed the book for being too oriented towards the author's healing center. The book has pages and pages of diagrams of hand positions, both for self-treatment and the treatment of others, useful articles on how to develop your own Reiki practice, updated history on where Reiki comes from, a chapter on how to use the symbols (and very few books show the actual symbols, so if you want the symbols then buy the other books), as well as good general information on what Reiki is. It does have one chapter on the author's school of teaching, so you can just skip that chapter if it doesn't interest you. And it does have a "catalog" of items you can buy from his Center...but it is in the appendix where it belongs. And throughout the manual he stresses that Reiki is open to all and it isn't required that you go to his Center for training. He simply offers his Center as a resource if you want it. He also shares a list of related books that have nothing to do with him or his Center. This book is a valuable resource. Not a be-all/end-all for Reiki, but the best manual for Reiki I and II that you will find anywhere! I use it for my classes and I am not affiliated with the author or his Center. It is also not the only book on Reiki that I own. This is just a great place to get a strong foundation of information in a few pages.

An excellent resource for students, teachers and the curious
I find Reiki the Healing Touch by William Rand to be an indispensable tool in my teaching practice. I have been practicing Reiki for ten years and teaching Reiki classes all around the world for six years. The manual is written clearly, which makes it easy for beginning practitioners to understand this healing art, or to help those who are simply curious about Reiki to develop an awareness of how Reiki can be applied to their life. As a teacher, this manual is a lifesaver for me. It contains all the elements I need to provide instruction in Reiki levels I & II. This minimizes the necessity for students to do extensive note-taking, and allows them more time in class for experiential learning. Mr. Rand is well known for his investigative nature, and it is through his diligent research and networking with other dedicated Reiki Masters that new light was shed on the history of Reiki. This book includes a comprehensive and documented history section, that brings new light to Usui Sensei's true intent for the use of Reiki. It replaces some of the myth with factual historical information. The story of the author's personal journey to Usui Sensei's tomb and his experiences on the holy mountain of Kurama bring life to the history. The many uses for Reiki and the symbols are clearly explained, as well as what Reiki is and how it heals. The hand positions for treating self and others are well illustrated. The treatment documentation form included in the book is a useful tool for practitioners, and helpful for clients in understanding their healing process. There is also useful information on developing a Reiki practice and informative material on how Reiki is being used in hospitals. Reiki the Healing Touch, in this revised and expanded version, is a must for any serious Reiki practitioner or teacher.

Mr. Petter's best book to date!
As a Reiki master, I am very interested in any new materials or information that is written about Reiki. Having read all of Mr. Petter's books on the subject, I am very pleased with this one!

The color photographs of the many hand positions are wonderful! He has made the information easy to understand and the techniques are all explained simply and thoroughly. I highly recommend this book to all of my Reiki students and anyone who is a practitioner.

I do agree with some reviewers who seem to feel that all of the information would be nice in one volume, rather than the 3 other earlier books that Mr. Petter has written on the subject.

I remember anxiously awaiting his earlier works after hearing about them and being a bit disappointed in their lack of information. It seemed that he was making the information available to the world in bits and pieces. Nevertheless, I appreciate his dedication to Reiki and making this information available to all of us! Thank you Mr. Petter! Bravo! This latest book is a great contribution to the Reiki community! I look forward to reading your next one, as well!

Insights from a Reiki Master
I became a Sacred Path Reiki Master in the Summer of 1999. After attaining Master level I started intensely reading and studying every book on Reiki and energy healing I could get my hands on in preperation to start teaching Reiki. January 2000 I received " The Original Reiki Handbook of Dr. Mikao Usui" as a gift from my husband. Since January I have been doing the meditations and breathing exercises in the book daily. My healing energy has increased by about 1000% and more. One day while meditating in my minds eye I saw a vision of a Japanese man carrying me. He laid me down and touched my forehead. I physically felt his hand and received a healing. Working daily with the healing techniques in this book gave me the extra training and focus I needed to set up my professional Reiki Practice. I highly recommend this book of all the Reiki books I've read this one is definitely the best. I give it 100 stars

The Original Reiki Handbook of Dr. Mikao Usui
The translation of Dr. Usui's Reiki handbook is a a very significant development for the Reiki community. At last we have proof that Reiki is not an oral tradition and that Dr. Usui gave out written material to all his students. I find the exercises to be useful and that my Reiki healing abilities have increased. The explainations and the insights about the origins of Reiki are also helpful. The color pictures of the hand positions Dr. Usui rcommends for various illnesses and conditions are wonderful. I have tried some of them and found them to work. I am very pleased that we now have such detailed information from the founder of the Usui system to use in our Reiki practices. Thank you Arjava and Chetna for taking the time to write this very important book.
