This book is excellent. It is very specific: a book to teach you how to use Reiki to change your core beliefs about abundance and lack. It is NOT a book designed to teach you about Reiki itself. Reiki cannot be learned from a book (Diane Stein's teachings notwithstanding, see my Amazon.com review of her book.) It IS a book to teach those who are already Reiki practitioners to use Reiki to change their lives.

All too many of us carry negative beliefs about money and our right to abundance. Many of us were taught that money is "bad", that only those who are not spiritual will have abundance. What nonsense! Spirit wishes us to live life with abundance, it is our birthright (see Lee Carroll's Kryon books for more info on this topic.) Horan's book provides a step-by-step program which, if followed, will disolve blockages in your life and allow the natural abundance of the universe to flow through it.

I followed the program, and the changes in my life were amazing. Not overnight, but substantial nonetheless. The most important part was the change in my mental attitude, and how my life flowed from that. If you are already a Reiki practitioner who wants to change their life, buy this book! If you're interested in learning more about Reiki, find a good Master/Teacher in your area and seek training from them. A teacher is vital, you cannot learn it alone. But once learned, the changes in your life will astound you! I have been praticing Reiki since 1994, and have been a traditionally trained Master/Teacher since 1998. In my opinion, this book is a must have for all reiki practitioners (and actually all energy workers as well), and is written in such a way that non reiki people can get huge benefit from it. Even the "feel" of the energy of this book is wonderful and lush. I think this also would be an excellent book for people to do in a study group together. Be prepared to buy more than one copy of this book if you ever lend it out to friends...they might not want to give it back! :)

Yes, this book has been written by a Reiki Master, but the focus is more on clearing the subconscious of your limiting beliefs about abundance and energy... There is not a lot of information specifically on Reiki, but instead it uses Reiki as an additional method to help the process of clearing. If you are looking for good information about how to experience a more fulfilling life, then this book is very good. If you are looking mostly for Reiki information, then try 'Essential Reiki' by Diane Stein. Another reviewer here has pointed out what they believe to be 'faults' of this book, but these only make up a tiny portion of the book and are merely a viewpoint - can you really expect every sentence in an entire book to agree with your own thoughts? The author also makes it immediately obvious that this is her second book and is NOT specifically about learning Reiki. Having myself taught Reiki to students in over 20 countries and so therefore having an idea of what is actually useful on the Path, I can honestly say that this is a worthwhile addition to any collection.

This is a very intense book. Although there is a lot of information here, it seems the author is writing something to open up people to Kundalini for the purposes of obtaining psychic and magical power. This focus can be dangerous because the emphasis seems to be very much on the 'me' rather than how can my service to humanity be achieved using these methods.

You probably want to start elsewhere and then browse through a copy after you have studied chakras and kundalini for awhile. Not beginner material.

as a how to book for the more esoteric practices of yoga not bad,simple and direct explanations & exercises. and yes it is intense but doable.what I find skrewed is mumford's explanation of the yamas and niyamas they are little off. I would refer you to the yoga sutras or the thirumandiram. both are much better guides on the philosopy. bisides that overall a good book

This book is a bit complicated and rather intense, but not impossible. I would only recommend it for those who seriously want to pursue the exercises in the book; those who are not particularly interested in setting aside the necessary time probably shouldn't bother.

I too am a Reiki Master, and cannot recommend this book to my students. This book dedicates almost one third of it's length to a section about supposed metaphysical meanings of the symptoms of various illnesses. This section makes statements such as, "male sterility indicates fear of close relationship", and "When a miscarriage occurs, it is probable that the child is being consciously or unconsciously rejected." - statements I believe to be insulting, and untrue. Regardless of my opinion of the accuracy of these statements, at the very least, they have nothing whatsoever to do with Reiki, and it is irresponsible to present them as such.

A sweet and nice book, but still a little "vacant" to me. It contains references to eventual emotional and mental symptoms behind the causes for illnesses that can be a worth while reading if you are interested in such things.

I think this really helped me get closer to understanding the metaphysical side of reiki and how it can help yourself and others. I would love to see you all read this one. Love & Light

After reading books on Bhudism and Toltec wisdom I thought this book would provide precise methods of enhancing my body's energy systems and develop more awareness. In both cases it failed miserably.
The first half of the book covered such disparate topics like the Internet and its influence in world communication, quantum mechanics and the Heisenberg principle, world politics, energy vibrations, and even geophysics. Somehow the author connected them all to some central celestial theme. I can see why many skeptics avoid metaphysics. Essentially, the first half was a culmination of many books with the author's slant.
The second half spent 221 pages describing so called "energy axioms." [...]

Energy Dynamics is the most complete collection of subtle energy information that I have seen gathered in one place. It is written in a way that anyone can understand not just those who are involved with energy work. The reference resources alone make the book of great value and the axioms hit the nail on the head every time. This book has proven to be a continual resource of information. It is multileveled, so the beginner and serious student both benefit. Through theNsimple exercises you will learn valuable methods of making love not only to others, but to yourself, awakening mystical union and opening to alchemical transformation. This book is a wonderful introduction to the the wonders of Tantra. Though not a long book, it has a lot of interesting information. I learned alot about my own body's capabilities and through the techniques, greatly enhanced my enjoyment and my prowess as a lover (and improved my lover's enjoyment as well). Mumford's book is an excellent resource for unusual and powerful insights into the sacred magic of tantra/sexuality. There is a very informative glossary of terms in the book, and explanations about certain aspects that may be surprising. The chapter on the Tantric Weekend is a wonderful guide to share a beautiful and loving retreat with one's partner. I strongly recommend this book to improve relationships not only between lovers but also to one's own potential to touch their own sacred bliss and enjoyment of their own bodies. John Mumford has obviously done his research, because he points out aspects in his book that I've not seen in other books on Tantra. I think the thing I like best about his book is that it allows eastern tantra to meet with the western mind. My current copy is the second one I've bought because the first one I bought became so dog-eared...Highly recommended.

Ecstasy Through Tantra is, without a doubt, one of the best Tantric Yoga books I have ever read and one I often recommend to clients and friends whether they are new to Tantra or have some knowleldge of it. Students of all levels will be able to find something in Ecstasy Through Tantra. The beginner will gain an excellent understanding of Tantric Yoga after reading the book and the intermediate and advanced student will benefit from practicing the powerful techniques which are presented in such a beautiful and masterful way. Ecstasy Through Tantra is not just another book on the subject of Tantric Yoga. It is rather an insightful, beautiful and practical manual of Tantric Yoga, sexuality and spirituality with very valuable information for the Western mind. I practice Reiki regularly and will soon recieve my Reiki 2 attunements. I have purchased several excellent books about Reiki as I have prepared for this attunement. This book is NOT one of them. It was disturbing to open the book and discover that all of the illustrations depict people in the nude. The author explains this with a statement that this was done to "convey the feeling of intimacy. freedom and love which is the very essence of Reiki". Reiki is a wonderful gift and provides a sense of well being to the reciever. I would RUN if anyone wanted to give me Reiki in the nude. The act of touching someone in the act of healing requires absolute respect for the other person's body and feelings. The "intimacy" suggested in this book does not feel right to me. The information shared about the practice of Reiki was not as useful to me as the information shared in other books I have purchased. I do not recommend this book.

A consice and clear guideline on Reiki and its applications. There are at this moment over 50 books on the market on this subject. Walter Lubeck is just one amongst many Reiki practitioners, therefore it is not surprising to find different opinions as to the best method/technique. With such diversity of opinions, it follows that there is no "complete" handbook. The author has skipped over historial background, the use of symbolism, and has diverted into divination with the use of the pendulum. The best way to go is to follow the advice of your Master or anyone who is well into this subject, before picking your choice.

Excellent book - and only for people who have gotten out of their body shame and can face nature the way it is!

completely inappropriate title. i was hoping for a practical book that gives techniques and wha to expect, since the author has exoperienced awakening of kundalini , i expected rich descriptions of his experiences. instead his experiences are confined to a few paragraphs. the book heavily quotes others , and it is done professionally , with all references quoted mentioned. if you are looking for a scholarly book , then this would do. but if you are looking for a how to book rich with personal experiences, this isn't a good choice. i am looking for a "how to" book written by a snsible author (the author in this book is sensible i must say ...not over the top like some others ...)

Ravindra Kumar, Ph.D. has studied the religions of the world and believes there is "a common thread woven through all of them." He wrote Kundalini for Beginners to explore this common thread and "to show that Kundalini or Sleeping Serpent Power is the common denominator in most cases of awakening, irrespective of the religion or faith of the aspirant."

Kundalini was awakened for Dr. Kumar in 1987. Later he retired from a long career as a mathematics professor and devoted himself to spiritual research. He has lived and worked in dozens of countries. He's written several books and conducts workshops internationally.

Dr. Kumar defines Kundalini as a form of energy residing in every human. For many people, it remains dormant. In a few, it awakens spontaneously. He says that "the awakening of Kundalini causes a transformation and transcendence in life." Kundalini that is awakened prematurely or incorrectly can be frightening, and in some cases, damaging.

He explains how people need to prepare themselves for Kundalini, then details how people can work to arouse their sleeping serpents in a safe manner. He calls his technique the "Integral Path," which he says is "the shortest path to God."

As Kundalini is awakened, it rises through the chakras, which are energy centers located along the length of the spine. Dr. Kumar describes what people should expect as Kundalini continues its upward climb from the base of the spine to the crown of the head, which for most people, is a 12-year journey.

He also discusses the roles of psychic senses, free will, and reincarnation in the journey to self-realization.

As Kundalini progresses, people experience what Dr. Kumar calls the "twin pillars of God," which are Light and Sound. These are experienced on an inner level. People also achieve an inner balance between masculine and feminine aspects, and between instinct and intellectual powers. People for whom Kundalini is fully awakened discover an ability to heal themselves and others.

Kundalini for Beginners is a useful reference for all those interested in learning "how to activate and assist the rise of Kundalini, and channel this energy in transcendent ways."

This book was the "right fit" for me - I found more in it that correlates to my own personal beliefs and experience than ever found before. I thought he did a good job of giving an overview of K and showed how the power and phenomenon of the emerging Kundalini spirit is also found in Christianity, Judasism & other religious traditions. Easy to read, and I liked the way he pulled the basic common truths from these alternate traditions without getting bogged down into belaboring points where they diverge.

I also liked his descriptions of the awakening process in general. So many religious/spiritual teachings are very long on peddling the "Great Truths" they have gathered, but rarely prepare one for the direct experience of God or offer support and guidance to those who find themselves in the throes of awakening.

Absolutely and completely a waste of money. A childish routine that for sure won't hurt anyone but very easy to sell if packed with newage/mistical/oriental/pacefull package. Looks like the manifest of a scientific church (of course to practice correctly and teach you must belong to the "church" or you get lost from the correct pat). Anyway,IN MY OPINION, if you are looking for something (very easy, without any effort, absolutely not demanding) that will keep you in a temporary and false "state of grace" like whatever synthetic commercial new age practice with an nice Oriental flavor, this is the book for you.
If on the contrary you are really looking for knowing Qi Gong,well there are a lot of serious and exaustive Books to buy.

At first I had good feelings about this book, but as I got into it I discovered that it is very shallow in theory and spent a lot of time promoting the author and his products. The forms used in the book are good when practiced daily and would be a nice addition to a more complete Qigong workout, but by themselves they lack completeness. I was especially turned off when the author stated that if you practiced certain things without his approval it could injure you. The particular exercise he was talking about, at the level he was teaching is totally safe and deserves better treatment.

It's a wonderful book. It explained the profound Qigong theory in a simple way and introduced a simple but effecient method to improve one's health and energy (Qi) level.
In a nutshell, it really works right away!

I am a beginning Reiki student and eager to read all material that will advance my studies. I was very disappointed in this selection. I feel that it is one woman's catharsis on a dysfunctional family and served very little information to a first time Reiki student looking for guidance. While I totally respect the author, the angst she is feeling, and her role with the International organization, I do not see the value of this "diary entry". Other titles on Reiki better serve the interests of beginning students, in my opinion.

This book is a biography of a Reiki Master. It does not include the "How to" or even the "What" of Reiki. This book discusses the events in a Reiki Master's life and encourages you to find similar events in your life and apply Reiki to the negative emotions.

It was written with the hope that everyone can see that no matter what our life circumstances have been there is a light that helps us out of our darkness and that light is Reiki.
