William K. Powers is, in my opinion, of inestimable value as a scholar of present-day Lakota society. He somehow manages to straddle a fence that few bother with: how to keep his credibility as a scholar, and yet show respect to the Native culture which he portrays. In my opinion, no contemporary non-Indian scholar does this, but Powers is as close as you'll get. It is apparent from his writings that he truly loves the Lakota people. It is a shame that in the end, he boils it down to a Levi-Straussian analysis. This follows the standard Western hermeneutic of assuming that no culture has value unless its ultimate worth is traced to Western scholarship. I would recommend any of Powers' writings highly. The Lakota have assisted him in making his spiritual pilgrimage to become a non-Indian interpreter with rare wisdom and insight into the lives of contemporary Natives.

This excellent little book is purported to be a collection of the work of a purely fictional writer named William Ashbless.
The authors originally created him when they were literature students at Fullerton State University near L.A. Over the years he has either appeared in or been referred to in most of their books and Tim Powers considers him a "good luck charm".

The book gave me a scoope in the matter. People that is concerned with this kind of subject need to know, at first, where is the north. The media generaly put us crazy.
To electrical engineers, dealing with line construction and with people against the development, based in pseudo technical knowledge need to have references so,I think that is an important book to help development in a bases of science.
I recomend it to the media, before write, study or ask to those that deals with the matter.

As a Biblical student who studies Hebrew roots, I appreciate that the Power New Testament is a viable alternative to the Complete Jewish Bible translated by David Stern. This text fully affirms both the inspiration of the Greek text and the fact that it has a Hebraic archetype behind it.

The only problem that I had with this publication was that it emphasized "Jewish" roots as opposed to "Hebrew" roots. Putting too much of a "Jewish" emphasis on works can make Christians think that they're not part of the people of Israel, which according to Ephesians 2:11-12, they are.

As any real estate agent knows there isn't a lot time to sit down and come up with new letters for every transaction. This book really comes in handy. There isn't a lot of solicitation letters but all the other one's make up for it.

More clean, carefully constructed prose from Rub of the Green author, Bill Hallberg. As with his previous work, even if you care nothing at all about the game, you will be drawn in by the the drama of the words. Nicely done.

Christian ethicists are running around like chickens in the face of postmodernity. Some fear it and are running away, relegating their insistence on archaic morality to the realm of irrelevance. Others claim it to be "Christian" and are running to it with open arms, yet uncriticially selecting the helpful aspects and dismissing its skepticism as just "ultramodernism." William Schweiker trips into neither of these pitfalls. He makes a careful assessment of postmodern life and thought, identifying its problems yet learning from its insights. He draws on the grand philosophical and theological tradition, yet adapts it in new ways. Schweiker gives special attention to issues of value and power in relation to one another and to their divine source. What results is a successful construction of Christian theological ethics in a postmodern age. Pick this one up!

From the contents, the book looks to be very useful for the practitioners as well as novices in the field. The uses of various circuits and valves seem to be very useful.

I have not read this book. The purpose of writing this is to inform prospective buyers that there's a slight error in the book description. Checking with Kessinger's catalog, this book contains 94 pages and not the stated 226 (check book dimensions).

I did rate this book, however, based on another book I have by the same author and publisher. It is Practical Psychomancy and Crystal Gazing (1907) and at 93 pages it basically has the same dimensions as this book does.

I could never understand how Christains would be able to do "greater works" than Jesus. How could Jesus make this statement. As I have studied the person of the Holy Spirit I have seen the truth of Christ's prediction. Several books have helped me see key passages in the Bible. The book, "You Will Receive Power" by William Law has a clear understandable message. And the message is told by someone that has come to a new understanding of the person of the Holy Spirit.

Mr. Law guides the reader through a coarse of Biblical truths that show Jesus was in constant communication with God the father by way of the Holy Spirit. And the miracles that were done in Jesus ministry was by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Here is the eye poper, the Holy Spirit is here today so you and I can follow Jesus instruction and become a bridge for the Power of Heaven to touch earth's need.

I highly reccommend this book for greater understanding of the power in Jesus ministry. And even more pressing is the understanding that the Holy Spirit is here today to work in and through every Christian. Check it out!
