very good
It was done as the seller told me. It was very good.

An encouraging, biblical book on healing.
This is not a splashy, sensational account of testimonies to healing. Testimonies there are, but Wimbers excellent handling of the subject of healing is presented, not as evidence of the insights and abilities of Wimber, but, as Richard Foster comments in the Introduction, as a reminder "that at the very heart of God is the desire to give and forgive. [This] book encourages us to believe that God is good and that he desires to pour out his goodness into our hearts and lives." (p. xi) It would be difficult to recommend a more biblically-based book on healing that is also as practical and honest.

Live What You Believe without Compromise
The Prince of Deceipt is having a field day with modern people, even those who think they stand firm on God's word. MacArthur challenges us to carefully find out what we believe about God from His Word, (confession of faith), then live this confession without compromise, something the church has problems with.

Compromise translates into false confession and belief. MacArthur aids by first examinining the essentials to motivate one to find the true confession, then be a person of discernment, which is the true way to live without compromise.

Great advice throughout this work, e.g. "Growing in deeper knowledge of Christ is a lifelong process that will not be complete until we see our Lord face to face," and "Unity of faith is impossible unless it is built on the foundation of commonly held truth."

Developing Integrity in challenging situations
This is an excellent book to develop character and integrity. As we use fire to temper steel, our Lord uses trials to temper our character. The wisdom in this scripturally-sound book helps me respond to challenges by displaying the integrity which honors our Lord.

The Power of Positive Praying

Maybe the Best Book You'll ever buy
Let me see if I can make this perfectly clear: BUY THIS BOOK. How come? For starters, I'll tell you what it is not. It is not a book that simply tries to motivate you toward a certain way of praying. Oh, you'll be motivated all right. It's just that the motivation comes from the discovery of how to pray and breaking molds of praying like you've heard.

This book goes step by step through the way God wants you to pray; not out of desparation, but out of fellowship and worship. If you begin your prayer requests with something like, "God, if it be your will..." then you desparately need this book. After reading it, your prayer life will be unlike ever before.

"It's the law."
This little book gives a credible, plain language explanation of why answered prayers are not a miracle, but to be expected. The author describes how a person can expect to have prayer answered just like we expect water to freeze in the cold.

The writing is not a "holier than thou", lofty theory. It explains why prayer should be confident, answers are to be expected. The power of prayer is limitless. How do we access that power? This book does an exceptional job of answering that and many other questions.

The book is 91 pages of concrete ways to look at praying - a delight to read and re-read.

I have studied and referred back to the ideas in this book many times, over many years and repeatedly found fresh perspectives and very useable ideas. I regard it as a treasure.

In a time when questions are all around and answers are hard to find, "The Power of Positive Praying" shines a bright beacon toward finding answers.

Power to Dissolve: Lawyers and Marriages in the Courts of the Roman Curia

A fascinating and careful study
I read 55 books in 1973 and this volume on marriage cases in Church courts was the best of the 55. It carefully examines 6 marriage cases. Reading this book made me wish I were a canon lawyer!

A landmark study of Catholic marriage and annulments.
John Noonan, now a prominent judge on the federal Circuit Court of Appeals, was also for many years a respected scholar of canon law history. This work, based on Noonan's direct study of Vatican archives, caused quite stir upon its publication in 1972, by painting an accurate, if not entirely flattering, picture of the complex canonical process by which, prior to the Second Vatican Council, Catholic marriage cases were adjudicated. The work is respectful of canonical tradition and, in my opinion, basically wanted only to see a franker admission by some canonical judges that adjudicating marriage cases is as much an art as it is a science.

Outstanding book on relationships. Something for everyone.
The main point of the book is summed up on page 17, "The individual can rarely just act, nor is forcing others to act usually an option. The net result is that effectivemess in the political world stems from the ability to influence the people and organizations that share power. This, more than any other reason, is why the only real power is the power to persuade." The author presents a compelling model using the points of the compass to represent key relationships everyone must form. The author claims that success requires sensitivity and the ability to persuade those at each compass point: Center - yourself; North - those you work for; East - those you work with; South - those who work for you; and, East - those you should work with. Strategy, tactics, and examples are presented for maintaining these relationships. The Power to Persuade is a significant book. In the political and non-profit arenas persuasion is the primary means whereby change occurs. The author implies that while these techniques are useful in the "for-profit" world, they are not as important as in the "non-profit" world. I challenge the author on this point. I believe that persuasion is becoming more and more integral in the "for profit" business world as leadership crumbles, use of teams and self-directed work groups increases, and integrated design methodologies take hold.

Great book on working in government, less useful for busines
The author has many years of experience as a federal official, and gives us the benefit of his experience. He describes four generic groups of people that government people must work with, and gives useful advice on dealing with each group. There is also an excellent list of books recommended for further reading. Valuable if you work in an area where you have little ability to do "command and control" but have to lean heavily on diplomacy. Especially highly recommended for those who work or aspire to work in government.

Clears Up Much of the False Teaching on Demons
Astute as a researcher, writer and theologian, Montgomery here tackles the hot topic of demonology. A passage from his intro says something excellent about this topic and book: "If you are as the felicitours phrase puts it so narrow-minded that you can see through a keyhole with both eyes simultaneously, this book is not for you, for in the world of the occult you need stereoscopic vision to avoid being a blind man leading the blind. The closeminded occultist will boggle at the theology of this volume and the close-minded religionist will be offended by its recognition of legitimate and positive occult domains."

Read on if you want to get informed by this master informer.

A sane, non-hysterical Christian view of the occult
Most Christian books on the occult comprise a mixture of debunking and denunciation. This book offers an intriguing alternative interpretation. Montgomery's interest in the occult goes back to his own childhood in the 1930s. Montgomery's purpose in this book is to offer an interpretation of the occult as opposed to the mere recounting of phenomena. He begins with a consideration of how to define the occult, and looks at supernatural, paranormal and naturalistic levels of meaning. Montgomery underscores how one's own world-view can colour the way the occult is interpreted - is it real, humbug or devilish. In this complex web Montgomery steers a course that takes the phenomena seriously with paranormal and supernatural explanations being within his thesis. He then offers a brief historical overview of the occult from ancient times up to the 1970s (which is when the book was originally released). From here Montgomery then devotes chapters to the Cabala and Alchemy, astrology and prophecy, spiritism, tarot cards, fairies and so on. As a Christian theologian Montgomery avers that the occult represents a spiritual quest for meaning. He acknowledges the reality of the Devil and the demonic, but does not claim that all things occult originate with His Infernal Majesty. To further tease out issues he includes his own "ghost story" to make a theological point. This book engages the reader (whether Christian or occultist) to wrestle with the deeper interpretative issues of meaning. Thus unlike those works that totally demonize or totally debunk the occult, Montgomery offers Christians a more provocative, scholarly understanding. He also points an unwavering finger for the occultist through the labyrinth of phenomena to the fulfillment of their quest as found in Christ. The book will challenge readers' assumptions on the subject. It is therefore commended for a wide readership as occult, new age, neo-pagan and paranormal topics are once more in season in the late 1990s. A most engaging text worth taking the time to read.

A must for power systems students
Comprehensive and lucid... this book presents all of the most important subjects in modern power electronics and electric power system control, and presents them in an organized fashion with a readable format. It also touches on many emerging concepts currently being developed in labs and universities, and is revised frequently.

Great Book
This book has a complete idea for the Power Electronics. Every line has an important meaning in it. Even though we have to read it very carefully. It worth for you to know all the bible of Power Electronics. One said Power System bible is Stevenson's book, on the other hand, Power Electronics' bible is Kassakian too. You can find everything in this book. You will not be regret if you hit this book.

This book on electricity is simply shocking!
What can i not say about this book.... none of us really have the time to get into extensive research in huge hardcover books on the mundane details of electricity.. so what more could you ask for in a comprehensive thorough yet easy-to-read and understand book on electricity for any age...

I love this book.
I love this book. As a parent as well as a high school Science teacher, his book is priceless. I have learned over the years that children learn faster when they are learning with a sense of humor, combined with facts. This book combines both beautifully. It is a must for every educator and parent who wants their children to know about the wonderful world of science, and wants to help unfold the mysteries underneath the why's
