Awesome!
I met one of the contributors (Micha) and heard him speak. I bought the book from him and read it. It was really great. It talks about the stuff that teens deal with.

This book is absolutly excelent!
If you need a book that deals with stuff that teens are going through, this is the book. It contains solid advice from motivational speakers from around the world. I suggest you read this book.

It gives Chicken Soup for Teens a run for their money.
As a co-author to this book, I must admit I am biased. But, I would not have gotten involved if I did not think this is a book every teen must have. With a collection of youth speakers from across the United States, it is a collection of hilarious and touching stories from a variety of very different authors. This is the original in a series of four and it truly helps teens get the power to do what is positive. If you have any questions, just email me!

A Hearwarming, True Story.....
"It was midnight. The light of the full moon followed the tired old car. Tomas was tired too. Hot and tired. He missed his own bed, in his own house in Texas. Tomas was on his way to Iowa again with his family..." Tomas' family were migrant workers. As his parents toiled in the fields during the day picking corn in the hot Iowa sun, Tomas and his brother, Enrique, tried to stay cool under the shade of trees, listening to the old stories told by their grandfather, Papa Grande. "Tomas, you know all my stories, " he said. "There are many more in the library. You are big enough to go by youself. Then you can teach us new stories." The library was large and cool, and had more books than Tomas had ever imagined. But more importantly, the librarian was very kind and took the young boy under her wing. And with her help, opens up a whole new world for Tomas; the love of books and learning..... Based on the story of Tomas Rivera, a migrant worker who grew up to become an educator and eventually chancellor of the University of California at Riverside, Tomas And The Library Lady is a heartwarming and inspiring story. Pat Mora's sweet, simple, and quiet text is complemented by Raul Colon's gentle and evocative illustrations and together word and art detail the joys of reading, and the wonderful impact one person can have on a young life. Perfect for children 4-8, Ms Mora includes a short biography of Tomas Rivera at the end to complete the story.

inviting-like the library!
This is a short story of a boy named Tomas, who needs more stories than his grandfather can tell, and so he goes to the library. Poor, migrant and Hispanic, he finds a friendly, caring librarian who provides him with the books he needs to nurture his spirit. The illustrations are warm and textured, lending a rich (almost biblical) quality. The experiences of Tomas, and his fertile imagination, are easily recognizable to children of all ages. The historical note on his later success in life is added incentive to keep going to the library for good books, like this one!

Tomas makes reading a life changing experience
This book is the wonderful true story of Tomas Rivera who was the son of migrant workers and became the chancellor of the University of California at Riverside.

My sister and nephews were in town and they took a trip to the library with their Nana(my mom). I believe that my sister grabbed this book, because it mentioned the library lady. I liked the fact that the author dedicated this book to Tomas Rivera and "for librarians who lure us in."

I read this book to my oldest nephew while he was here. He was absolutely mesmerized by this book. The author draws you in with the tale of Tomas Rivera's life and how his life changed when he discovered the library. The illustrations in the book were beautifully drawn and colorful.

Tomas lived with his Mama, Papa, Papa Grande and his little brother, Enrique. His parents were migrant workers. They picked fruit in Texas in the winter and in Iowa in the summer. They were on their way to Iowa for the summer.

Tomas had always enjoyed listening to his Papa Grande's stories, and he knew all of them by heart. So, Papa Grande encouraged Tomas to go to the library in Iowa and tell them more stories. The next morning when he reaches the library he becomes very intimidated by the big library. Well, things change once he meets the library lady.

She is so warm and inviting to Tomas that Tomas spends the whole day at the library reading. Using her own card, the library lady checks out two books for Tomas to take home and read. While reading, Tomas gets lost in adventures with dinosaurs.

During the course of the summer, Tomas teaches the library lady some Spanish, while she encourages him to read more books. There is a tearful goodbye as Tomas gives the library lady some pan dulce(sweet bread) and she gives him a book.

I'm glad that the author put a note about the story at the end of the book. The note gives a brief synopsis of Tomas Rivera's life.

The major reason I liked this book is the fact that it is encouraging children to read. Reading is the big key to education and success. Also, I think that it is encouraging adults to read to their children, which is definitely important. This book is definitely designed for four to eight year olds.

Tomas and the Library Lady should be a part of every child's life.

Breathtaking!
This is an EXCELLENT compilation of information on the philately of Tuva, that mysterious land in the heart of Asia. Some of it is available from no other source.

Whether it be stamps, postmarks, covers, bibliographic titles, or what have you, you just never know what you're going to uncover next! This makes browsing this CD a real philatelic adventure, and a pleasure indeed.

To top it off, it seems the CD is updated periodically as yet more ultra-rare material crawls out of the woodwork --- or falls out of the stamp album, as the case may be.

An absolute must for a Tanna Tuva collector.
As a dealer, and a stamp collector for more than 45 years, I wish that this item would have been available as a reference tool. If your interest lies in Tanna Tuva, I highly recommend this item.

Indispensible resource for the Tuvaphile.
The TuvaFiles CD-ROM is an indispensible collection of text and images related to Tuva. The scanned images are of excellent quality, the websites on the CD are full of almost everything one could want to know about Tuva, and the archive of the alt.culture.tuva newsgroup is a unique collection of the online discussions about Tuva since 1992.

It's difficult to think of any drawbacks to the CD-ROM.

A great CD for the novice, but also a great CD for the completist. A real bargain at the current price!

Charming and unique, and a great read-a-loud...
I purchased this book and the accompanying stuffed toy for Christmas 2001 for a nephew - a very bright boy, by the way. At our family gathering Christmas Day, I read it aloud to him and his entranced family. The illustrations are first rate, the humor is wonderful, the value of caring well expressed. I'm so glad I got it.

An enchanting book for adults and children alike
We received this book as a Christmas gift for my three-year-old son and it's quite extraordinary and made a wonderful gift. I've since given it as a gift myself to children as well as a confirmed-bachelor friend! It's an oversized book with amazing engraved illustrations and a charming rhymed text.

Mugnificent!!
This book is great and I should know because I co-wrote it with Eric and did the illustrations ( silver Medal from The Society of Illustrators) and Published it myself with the help of Mr. Jerry McConnell at Madison Square Press. The good news is the book is not out of print and you can get a personally inscribed copy from me by contacting me at traglin@horizon.hit.net. Thank you!!

Couldn't do without it
I had a series with slightly less-than brilliant interviews with a couple of US consulting firms after completing my (part-time) MBA last year here (I am a liberal arts undergrad major form an European school). One of the intervievers referred me to the Vault site and this book particularly to help me correct my alleged "firehose" approach to business cases for... my next interviews. To my amazement, it worked. I gladly recommend it to anyone interested in getting into consulting.

best case interview preparation in print
In my opinion, this Vault guide is the best guide available which prepares the reader to excel in a case interview. I suggest you at least flip throug it if you are serious about doing well during consulting firm interviews.

excellent and essential guide
This guide contains numerous essential frameworks, case strategies, and actual case questions with model answers. There must have been more than 100 cases of various types in the guide. I highly recommend to anyone pursuing a consulting position, particularly with strategy consulting practice areas.

Number two in a nine book series that every student needs!
I was hooked on Richard Maybury's series after reading "Are you Liberal or Conservative? Or Confused?" I immediately ordered the entire series and have not regretted it for an instant.

I began with number one and moved through them all in the correct order, or at least the recommended order by the author.

"Let's talk about Personal, Career and Financial Security" was the first and just wet the curiosity. It left you wanting to know more.

This book began the meat and potatoes of a series that is easy to read, written on an understandable level for everyone and enlightening to all concerning the many mysteries of historical, economic and governmental issues and interminglings that have to do with social, moral, political and so many other issues.

I would recommend this series as a Middle School Required reading text with in depth discussions and working groups for the youth of America to be better informed than they now are about the world and how it all works and fits together.

Mr. Maybury's elaboration of the various "Models" that people create for the world they try to live in was a very thought provoking exercise and explained a great deal about the great divide that currently separates the American consciousness.

Two down and still batting a thousand. Great job Mr. Maybury.

GET THIS BOOK!
This is an awesome book on economics. It is a fun and easy way to learn about WHY and HOW our economy works..I learned so much......my father gave me this book and I have not stopped raving about it...FIVE STARS!

Excellent book.
I'm embarrassed to say that I learned more about our economy in this half-inch book than I ever did attending college (which included several econ and management science courses, some of which were pretty high level).

Maybury is to economics, what Luther was to the papacy, and Paine was to the political elite.

Bravo.

Maybury for President!

If you want to understand money and the economy, this is a great place to start. Enjoyable reading as well.

I plan to read the entire Uncle Eric series.

Buy it, you won't regret it.

Wonderful and Heartwarming...
The stories in this book warm your hearts. You see popular figures in a new light when you read their inspirational stories. I'm glad we've got a book that's ours. Soul Food is ours anyway. Looking forward to the continuation of the series.

Great
A collection of essays about such thing as self-esteem, family, and faith. The essays are from everyday people as well as famous people. The essays were really helpful.

WOW!
I really enjoyed these marvelous and uplifting stories. A lot of them had definite messages to be used in your everyday life. Queen Latifah's contributions were extremely powerful. This would be a great book just to keep around and open to any story to meditate upon.

Spot's Touch and Feel Day
The reason I choose SPOT'S Touch and Feel Day is because it seems to be a very good baby book. My son is nine months and he would love this book. It has lots of textures in it so that little kids can touch it and feel what it is saying. The colors are nice and bright so that the children can see the pictures. The words in this book are short so that the kids can under stand what we are saying.

An eternal favorite...
After over two years, this is still one of my daughters favorite all time books. Our first copy was read to pieces (literally) She was a little over a year old when we first got it, and didn't understand the concept of interacting with the story...she just loved the pictures. However, then she got the hang of it...and was hooked. The muddy paw prints don't stay sticky very long, but otherwise this is a very durable book. The story is simple, with bold letters for introduction to reading and simple drawings which enhance interest and understanding. A great buy!

1st Graders LOVE the Spot books!
I am a first grader at Anna Merritt Elementary School in Lockport, NY. I have read all of the Spot lift-the-flap books. My favorite Spot book is Spot's Touch and Feel Day. I like feeling all the pictures. I liked feeling the grass and the steps the best. I hope Eric Hill writes 500 more lift-the-flap books!

Three Against the Wilderness is a lifetime memory
My first contact with this story began in 1959 when my mother read the condensed book section in the Readers Digest to me and to two other small boys from up the road. She said that we sat spellbound. It was a good story then; it has been each of the multiple times that I've read it. The story is of a man whose father wanted him to be a lawyer in England but who came to B.C. in about 1921 and ended up on 150,000 acre registered trap line ---to which he reintroduced the beaver. It is an intensly personal and heartwarming story of a family as it faced the wilderness into which they had come. The world of ecology today needs to remember that there were those who took serious the simultanous protection and the use of the environment before today's jealots were born.

A MUST for any nature lover.
There was a time when, I think, every public and every school library stocked at least one copy each of Three Against The Wilderness, North To Alaska, and Crusoe of Lonesome Lake. That was before video games and role playing captured our youth's attention. Now, all three are quickly disappearing from our libraries.

Three Against is a heart-warming story of one Britisher finding himself in a remote area of Canada's British Columbia. In a search for a life he could enjoy among nature, he finds a badly damaged remote tract of land and decides to make a life for himself and his new wife (Native American) by restoring nature's grandeur by introducing beaver.

The story is one of courage and sacrifice and helps explain not only the early days of conservation but of how one man could make a difference in his environment by acting locally. Margaret Meade would have been proud as punch!

After you read this book, read North To Alaska and Crusoe of Lonesome Lake. You will probably do as I and keep a copy for reading every couple of years to remind yourself you can dream, you can improve your world, and you can enjoy living without too greatly harming the environment.

A BOOK THAT YOU`LL FIND YOURSELF READING ONCE A YEAR!
My father introduced this book to me when i was a young boy and ive been drawn back to it in the fall of every year since.I can tell you that you`ll find your self transported to a time when family was the number 1 thing in your life,it had to be because you totally realied on one another for everything. It gives you a feeling of hope that is allmost undiscribile. The collier family take me into there life every year and at that time i feel as if i am apart of their story. My thanks to them and i hope you have the same wonderfull experiance that i have had again and again.

Thinking Your Way Around the Golf Course : Solid Decision Making to Lead to Better Scoring
Published in Spiral-bound by Go Low Golf (01 October, 1999)
Author: Eric Coultoff
Amazon base price: $9.99
Average review score:

Consider this before you buy!
Prepare yourself to receive a book that's only 31 pages of print, of which 9 are full-page drawings (basically, cartoons). Add another drawing that's 2/3 of a page and you are left with just 21 1/3 pages of text, of which some aren't even complete pages. That's less than 20 pages of "education". What's more, the text is large print with large spaces in between. In my opinion, what you have here is the production of a guy who figured he could make a lot of money by publishing a book and who did as little as he could to justify calling it a "book". In reality it's a pamphlet full of common-sense advice, most of which even the novice golfer could eventually surmise on his own. I've seen few situations in life that so aptly qualify as a "rip-off".

Simple Way to Improve Your Golf IQ
This book has helped me disocover new ways to approach my next golf shot. Without filling my head with swing thoughts, this book has helped sort out shot selections as I play. Mr. Coultoff presents us with shot options a player faces during any given round. Then proceeds to communicate which shot option is best, under multiple scenarios. This is a great read for a player struggling with course management. So, if you're on Amazon.com looking for golf instruction... it's safe to say that you haven't mastered course management yet. Get it. Very good value.

Easy to understand and helpful!
I found this book one of the easy books to follow and out of all the golf books I have read this one helped me the most. This book will bring anyone who follows it low scores on the golf course! I thought that the clear drawings made it very easy to understand and fun to read.
