THE BEST AB BOOK
The information provided in this latest edition of the "Power Factor Specialization" series is first-rate. All scientific, all proven and geared to make every workout efficient, this book is the ultimate ab (and leg) training book I've ever read. If you want a chisled midsection and muscular, powerful legs, then you will definitely benefit from the information in this book. All of the ab and leg exercises are rated, so that you will never again waste time on an unproductive exercise. The Power Factor Specialization series is the best "training" series of books I've ever read. They should be compulsory for all personal trainers who take their business seriously.

Quite Simply: The Best Book I have ever read.
Inspirational. Profound. Practical. A companion.

A one page/three-minute read every day. And an opportunity to plumb the depths of what it means to be a man or a woman.

Philosophy has been called: The Queen of all Sciences. These meditations are from the mind of a brilliant philosopher. A great intellect. An extraordinary human being. A man who has used his mind to reason to Truth. A Truth reflected in his personal life. A life that has transcended and soared above personal tragedy, Naziism, Communism, and Modernism.

This book provides the reader with a few minutes each day to reflect on what is most meaningful to each of us: relationships, work, marriage, family, sex, education, success, failure, suffering, tragedy, death, life.

"Prayers and Devotions: 365 Daily Meditations" is a reflection of other writings by John Paul, such as "Fides et Ratio", which is a treatise discussing the interdependence and complementarity of Faith and Technology. "Faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth; and God has placed in the human heart a desire to know the truth---in a word, to know himself---so that, by knowing and loving God, men and women may also come to the fullness of truth about themselves."

From "Veritatis Splendor": "The splendor of truth shines forth in all the works of the Creator and in a special way in man, created in the image and likeness of God. Truth enlightens man's intelligence and shapes his freedom, leading him to know and love the Lord. Hence the psalmist prays: 'Let the light of your face shine on us, O Lord.'"

And from "Evangelium Vitae": "The Gospel of life is at the heart of Jesus' message. Lovingly received day after day by the church, it is to be preached with dauntless fidelity as 'good news' to the people of every age and culture."

"Prayers and Devotions" capsulizes much of the thought of John Paul. It is a rich treasure with each page providing jewels to be discovered, polished, and reflected upon. A book to be read, enjoyed, shared, and re-read.

The Primacy of Peter: Essays in Ecclesiology and the Early Church
Published in Paperback by St Vladimirs Seminary Pr (1995)
Author: John Meyendorff
Amazon base price: $11.95
Average review score:

Primacy of the Pope: An Orthodox Perspective
As a recent convert from Roman Catholicism to Orthodoxy, I especially recommend this volume of essays, regarding the primacy of Peter, and, by extension, the primacy of the Pope, to any Roman Catholic interested in Orthodoxy. The essays are well researched and well balanced, and give the reader the Orthodox point of view regarding the claims of the Papacy, without resorting to polemics.

I also recommend the book "Rome, Constantinople, Moscow: Historical and Theological Studies" written by Fr. Meyendorff as well as "The Orthodox Church" by Bishop Kallistos Ware for anyone interested in the history of the Church.

Presented in question and answer form, this precise, readable, and enlightening guide to the Catechism is a useful and thought provoking resource for the study for this major Church document. Readable, practical guide to QS-9000
Low cost book on QS-9000, the quality standard for automotive industry and its suppliers and recognized by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG).

As a basic introduction to what QS-9000 is about, element by element, it's complete and readable. It also gives "How" tips on implementation.

The miniguide includes an overview of the other manuals required for implementation guidance, e.g., Advanced Product Planning and Control Plan (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). These are what distinguish QS-9000 from ISO 9000 quality standards.

Wisely, the authors recommend customers be asked what are their particular needs so that unique requirements can be instilled in the organization's QS-9000 system.

For a person like me at an ISO 9001 house but not in the automotive industry (yet!), reading this miniguide made me an informed person about the similarities and differences of QS-9000 and the ISO 9000 quality systems.

Gave me what I wanted
Some people are bashing this book. It gave me what I expected plus some nice extra tidbits. The only valid complaint is it gives an unfair amount of space to one domain while shortchanging the other two. It still does the job of giving you a lot of flavor to add to whatever you do in these domains.

Bottom line: I bought it and got what I wanted out of it. It could have been better, but so can all the other books.

Reassurance - Should I Worry About My Heart Skipping Beats
Peter John Raposa takes us on a adventure on how it feels to sudddenly be out of control of ones body. His anxiety consumes his every thought and daily activities when he first experiences a heart arrythmia (benign skipped beats). I found this book by accident, looking for advice on how to cope with the same condition. PJR conveys his feelings, fears and eventually his acceptance and coping techniques through easy to read pages. Highly recommend this book. Also references other books and nutrition.

My baby's a big fan of this book
Since 7 months old, my baby has loved this book and has insisted on "reading" it over and over and over. The small size of the book makes it easy for him to grasp and turn the pages by himself. But I think it's the simple, colorful pictures that he loves most. He'll study the pages hard, looking at the interesting, whimsical illustrations of the bugs. And when we read it to him, the fun rhyming lines add to the overall joy of this book. What's best about it is that is a "baby-size" book, with great colors and pictures. And last but not least, it's the perfect size for chewing on. This is truly one of my baby's favorite books.

Well written, informative, eye opening.
This is a well written book, linking Peter's reforms to the political culture of Russia and the USSR. Anisimov is in agreement with Voloshin in describing Peter as the first Bolshevik. If you love Russian history, and if you want to understand the people of this fascinating country, this book is a must--have!!!

This is the only review book which backs up all of its answers with papers. I am finding it extremely helpful for my reviews for the boards, and enjoy the humor of the authors!
