The book is a MUST READ! A "must read" for even people who are currently employed; as it will give you the insight of what a person with a disability will go thru during their job search. Any temporary able bodied person may become disabled at any time in their employed life. Your "employment life" will be altered forever; thru no fault of your own doing.
No one chapter stands out. Each chapter carries its' own weight for the total read of this outstanding document.
I wish the authors great success with an excellent and easy to read reference book and a solid companion to WHAT COLOR IS YOUR PARACHUTE!
The authors have broken down yet another barrier!
Often both employers and prospective employees have misconceptions about what the law says about disabilitiy. The book explains how the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) protects individuals with disabilities. At the same time, it also explains what the ADA will not do.
I particularly liked the section on creative ways to interview for a job. Having a disability may make one seem strange and unfamiliar to a prospective employer. The book suggests creative ways to emphasize how one is also similar to the employer. Even if you do not have a disability, you may still want to read some of these clever suggestions.
It is often difficult to get disability benefits in the first place. This makes returning to work seem a risky proposition: What if you try to go to work and you are really not ready. If you fail, will you lose your disability benefits and have to start all over again? The book explains ways to protect some degree of benefits while easing back into the work force.
The two authors blend their areas of expertise to produce an outstanding book. The book is divided into sections with clear explanations and objectives. In the back of the book there are useful appendices with resources for further help and support.

The study notes at the bottom cover about every verse and is very good at explaining without over doing.. If I only had one Bible this is the one I would pick..
There is a lot of other reasons for liking this Bible, like the beginning commentary on each book, the IN Depth articles, Word focus, Quick View Charts, Concordance, Maps (in-text and full-color) and in the front of the book it tells where to find all of this with the page number.

thinking advice from Norman Vincent Peale in mini-sermons.
Norman Vincent Peale originated the popular religious magazine,
Guideposts.
This product is based on a java applet and for Windows and Macintosh. For each of the chapter, about 30 review questions are available in a multiple-choice format. The answer is not only with alphabetical one, but also with a concise explanation with a link to the textbook. I find this feature very helpful. I haven't checked "Nelson Review of Pediatrics, 2nd ed., Behrman,R.E.CW.B.Saunders , 2000 263p", but the publisher says that this feature is based on this book.
Update service is available. Every time when you launch the program, you are asked whether it checks the updates. Full access to NelsonPediatrics.com for further information is also available, after you sign up on the web site. After all, the support service is awesome.
However, there are some things you should know as windows users, which is why I put 4 stars. First, you are required to use Netscape or Internet Explorer as your default browser. The browser must be new enough, too. Second, you must insert the CD-ROM every time you use this program, since it doesn't install all the files to your hard disk unlike the previous edition. Third, if you are using localized Windows other than English, you may have to replace some files. The procedure is as follows, quoted from the mail I got immediately from the support center:
>The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) that we distribute with the Nelson
>product is not the internationalized version. It could be that one of
>the following may address the issue (FIRST BACKUP THE JRE DIRECTORY IN
>NELSON'S INSTALL DIRECTORY):
>1. Download and install the international version of the JRE 1.2.2 (the
>one we use for Nelson) from
>http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.2/jre/download-windows.html. Then
>copy the installed JRE directory and all contents to the Nelson
>directory, naming it JRE.
>
>2. Download and install the international version of the newer JRE 1.3.0
>from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre/download-windows.html and do the
>same thing as above.
Nonetheless, "Nelson's Textbook of Pediatrics" comes as close as possible. Along with another other classic pediatric text, "Rudolph's Pediatrics," Nelson's represents the best of pediatric medicine in America. Every pediatrician has a favorite, but Nelson's is the gold standard.
Nelson's is particularly strong in pediatric cardiology and immunology. For the latest in infectious disease, see the "Red Book" published by the American Academy of Pediatrics. For neonatology, developmental pediatrics, and the surgical sub-specialties, consult specialty books in those fields. For congenital malformations and syndromes, "Smiths's" (by Jones!) is a good place to start. For the latest in oncology, your best bet (after your local trusted oncologist) is to search Medline or the Web, but watch out for quackery.
This work's greatest strengths are the summary charts for every book of the Bible. Unlike most, these analyze each book in A NUMBER of complementary ways, not just one. You see themes that overlap and weave together! The outlines and many, many topical charts give even more depth to each book and help tie books and themes together. The articles also include a lot of very useful background material. Overall, this reference is laid out in a very user-friendly fashion.
I use this book for both personal study and teaching preparation. It is literally a must-own for anyone serious about understanding the Bible better; I cannot say enough good things about this work!

I caution you, however. This is not necessarily an easy read. It gets to be a grudge match at times, but that is the way Solomon wrote it. Nelson does a wonderful job in trying to relate this book to every day usage.
Despite the difficulties in reading this book, it will be well worth it when you finish. I give Nelson an A for the effort he put in to explaining and interpreting this difficult book.
It gives simple, concise advice on how to conduct a job search, and what to do in an interview. It tells you how keep a prospective employer from getting nervous about your disability, and how to communicate in an interview in an honest and positive way.
If you are person with a disability this is a terrific book, if you have a co-worker with a disability, it is a terrific book, if you have people working for you with disabilities it is a terrific book, and if you are a "normal" person (whatever that is...} it is a terrific book.
The advice in the book leverages the expertise of both authors and is sound and easy to understand. It also helps you to do a better job, once you have employment. The book is highly recommended for everyone!
