Same top techniques but in an audio format
Whether you are trying to remember names, phone numbers, dates, appointments, lists, or other items it is easy once you have mastered the techniques presented here. While there are no new techniques presented, it does provide an overview of the various memory methods (loci, peg, phoenetic, etc.) and how each one is used. There is one difference in the phoenetic method presented here and the method as traditionally taught. The method taught here is easier to use with lists of less than a hundred items but would be more complex with larger lists. Still it is an interesting variation. This is not instant memory, but does provide the listener with the tools and techniques to remember anything you have a desire to recall. Within ten days you can gain enough knowledge to have a substantially better memory. If you are serious enough to master the techniques then they will serve you the rest of your life and you will be sure to stun others with your ability to recall just about anything you want to remember.

The Army of Robert E. Lee

excellent reference book
Phillip Katchers' book is so far the best on the army of Lee. It is good to see that there is no references on the "romantic" side of Lee, but rather an objective, concise outline of him as a general, and his army. I really liked the way in which Katcher explained the different ranks in each unit. For this has been not one of my strengths. However, there are some very odd spelling errors in it. But we are only human aren't we ? The only reason that i gave it 4 stars is because i am not widely read in this kind of text. If anyone reads this, can someone tell me how i can get the periodical "AMERICAS' CIVIL WAR"? thankyou.

A teachers guide to genetics
One of m friends were showing me this book when we were talking about genetics and stuff. I became intrested of it and borrowed it for a couple of weeks. This book led me into the world of genetic principles, possibilities and etics in no time. The language is in a medium level, quit easy to understand even for a swedish teacher. It is perfect if you study fundamental genetics or want to now what genetics is all about.

Short, Solid, and to the Point--a Gem
RAND, as usual, produced a first-rate study here. In this text, they looked into commercial SATCOM for Department of Defense use, what roles it should fill, and cost comparison between DoD-owned satellite versus commercial satellites. Many graphs adorn the text, adding useful information to make conclusions clearer and vivid. Anyone interested in commercial satellites and the role they should play for the DoD should buy this book. No hyperbole or propaganda here, RAND's text is useful text and solid conclusions that layperson and communicator alike can understand.

Great starting point for radiology residents
Following the quality standard set by the Radiology Requisites Series, this revised version of the original publication presents the radiographic evaluation of the gastrointestinal system in a time-efficient, yet comprehensive manner. It certainly prepares the groundwork for more detailed texts. The book is divided in eight chapters of moderate length and plenty of images to help solidify concepts. Although gastrointestinal radiology may not be one of the most sought out themes by the radiology residents, this book makes it an enjoyable experience.

The Satellite Solution
William H. Mott IV takes us into the world of Satellite communications with an effective, business-like approach; so don't expect to be taken away by beautiful language, however, Mr. Mott IV gets the job done in any case.

The reader is given a slam-dunk course in Satellites 101 going through the types of satellite, stakeholders, national powers in the space, applications, economics, challenges, developments, and provides some foresight. But do not expect to find out what satellite service you should be investing in; that is not the purpose of this book.

If you have in interest in learning more about satellite technology and want to learn about how it might solve some of communication's problems, you will find it in this book.

The perfect introductory text!
Zimbardo and Weber present an up-to-date and well laid out text for the first time psychology student. Introductory Psychology is an incredibly difficult course for both the instructor and the student. The scope of material can be overwhelming to absorb in a single course. Dr.Zimbardo gleans the most important (and pertinent) material and presents it in a well thought out manner. As those of us in the field know, each chapter of an introductory text is a course in itself. How do we impart the most important points in an 18 week semester? Zimbardo facilitates easy reading for the student, allowing the instructor to focus on the "hot-points" in lecture material. A highly recommended text.

Robert Frank: New York to Nova Scotia
Published in Hardcover by New York Graphic Society (1986)
Authors: Anne Tucker and Philip Brookman
Amazon base price: $35.00
Used price: $175.00

Very interesting material. Unique among the books on Frank.
A few rare Frank images are reproduced, but this book is mainly a collection of documents and writings by or about Frank. This is the only source for much of this material: letters from a young Robert Frank to his parents about New York, for example; a facsimile of Frank's Guggenheim application; a police report made during Frank's trip across America; writing by Kerouac about a trip made with Frank to Florida. I recommend this book to any person interested in Robert Frank and already familiar with his work. Nevertheless, the few images here reproduced stand out like flowers.
