the sea of adventure by enid blyton
Reviewer: c.f. Thomas from Taupo New Zealand.
This book is great. It is aged for 9-12, but I find good for 8 year olds. It's an adventure/mystery about five children who have just recoverd from a bad case of measles. They take a trip to a bird island in the middle of the sea. Their 2 pets Huffin and Puffin are Puffins. The children go to an island which they make their headquarters. I am not going to tell you any more as it will spoil the story. You need to read it yourself as it is great reading I would give it 10/10

A great 10/10 book!
This book is great. It is aimed for the age groupe 9-12, but infact i still find it intesting at 14 years old. It is an adventure/mystery about seven children who start saving money to buy fireworks. Peter, Janet, Pam, Colin, George, Jack and Barbara are collecting old clothes and money, but then everything is stolen! Who could have done this? Could it be Jack's little sister and her gang? Could it have something to do with the nearby robery? I'm not giving anything away, you will just have to read it for yourself. You wont regret buying it, I'll tell you that for a fact. I give it a fab 10/10

Another Great Famous Five Book
When a tree falls on George's house, the Famous Five are sent to a fellow scientist's house. "Sooty" shows them how to have fun, by climbing on the city walls and going through secret tunnels. George gets in trouble, and is locked in her room untill her dad arrives. Meanwhile Timmy disappers, and Block ,deaf, is seen talking with a well known smuggler. When George's dad and Sooty disapper, the Five must find them before it's too late, but do they suspect the wrong person?

Smashing
We thought this book was so cool that we wrote a Haiku on it;

Five go to smugglers top pop, They have adventures, Oh no, it's time to go home.

Easter Gale Castle on top of the hill Sinister tower Dogs not allowed Uncle Quentin is kidnapped Timmy unearths fugitives

I think the coolest chapter is the one where Block gets a surprise- it was so full of suspense. The second coolest chapter is the one called Sooty Lenoir. My most scariest moment was when Timmy fell into the marsh and the lorry driver had to use his planks to help pull him out. I felt so scared because I thought Timmy would die, and the Famous Five would have to become the Famous Four, and they might not be able to solve adventures the same. The secret passages were real spooky. I wish we had secret passages in our house.

Read all of the series...

I hope you too will agree that this is the coolest one.

A Delightful Mystery
Three children of a widowed mystery writer strives to solve the murder next door - to get their mother some publicity (and maybe a love interest). This is a great read! Read it years ago and adopted the children's secret language to use with my friends. Am still reading it at least once a year. If ONLY the movie made from this book (starring Dean Stockwell as the son, Lynn Bari as the mother and Peggy Ann Garner as one of the daughters) could be re-released on videotape!! It was a three-star rated movie and beats anything other old movie shown today!

A wonderful read if you like this sort of thing (and I do)
I'm very happy to see this book back in print. If you're a Rice fan as I am, you've probably had to scour used book stores, desperately seeking any beaten up old copy of a novel by the once famous, now forgotten, Craig Rice (under one of her many pseudonyms).

Though it lacks the alchohol-inspired zaniness of her Malone books, this novel more than makes up for it in charm.

The three children of a rather neglectful mystery writer (yes, the novel has autobiographical elements to it) solve a murder and play matchmaker for their mother at the same time.

If, after reading the previous sentence you're still with me, I recommend you give this book a try. It may be Rice's most-loved novel, and no wonder. I didn't want it to end. The children are charming and sweet without being too charming and sweet, if you know what I mean. The mystery itself is rather slight, but you won't mind.

The lightness and humour of this book were exactly what I needed during a rather difficult time. For that reason I'm breaking my usual rule and giving it five stars.

Enid Blyton is really wonderful Author. Im sure if u read his books u'll luv him too

adventure series
Enid Blyton is wonderful. I read all the books in the adventure series, and the Secret Seven series. I am buying those books for my nieces. I read them when I was in school, in Spanish and I remember that it was so hard to put them aside. A must buy for children and helps with their imagination. I very strongly recommend both series. It will be nice if Amazon will carry both complete series.

great imagition
This book has a great lot of fantasy.Enid Blyton has really got wonderful imagition. All the characters in the book have suitable names for their nature, for example Moonface has a moon-shaped face,Dame Washalot loves to wash a lot,Silky the fairy has silky hair and wears a dress made of silk.there are many more other charactersin this book. You will have to read the book to find out about them. The Lands too are totaly amazing. My favourate ones are The Land of Goodies because they are made up of all the things i love to eat,The Land of Magic Medicines so that my family can get well soon when they are not feeling well and The Land of Spells so that i can make my cat sing too. The book is about four children- Jo,Fanny,Bessie and Dick who explore lands in the magic faraway tree with moonface, silky and
saucepan man and have narrow escapes.

Loved the faraway tree as a kid...still love it!!
All the faraway tree stories are wonderfully vivid. Kids will love following the adventures of the faraway tree as it leads to the fascinating lands that appear at the top of the tree. Mr SaucePanMan, Dame WashALot, MoonFace and the other adorable characters never cease to entertain. Unfortunately like most Enid Blyton books, you cannot get this title easily in the US. I ordered my copy from the UK Amazon.com

Definitely Enid!
This is a great book for people to get introduced to Enid Blyton's wook. This is an awesome book and I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates good old fashioned litreture for children. This book may have been written ages ago but anyone can identify with the characters.Enjoy!!

The best Detective Story (I think)
This book is the first-book of Five Find-Outers and Dog. This story is started when a cottage get burned, and there are four children that trying to know who did that? And, they make a group. This is because an idea of a children that new in their village. First time the another four seems to do not like him. But, at last they can work together well and it is because his dog, Buster too. Can they solve the mystery and with whom they can say their deduction?? - Sorry, my English isn't too good. And I read the Indonesian version. But I am sure it is the same as English version. ^_^

IT IS GREAT!!!
I LOVE NODDY BOOKS AND I THINK THEY ARE REALLY GOOD FOR YOUNG CHILDREN TO READ!!! THEY HAVE FUNNY STORYLINES AND ALWAYS MAKE ME LAUGH!!!

Classic books to read to and with little ones.
I had the Noddy books as a child, brought back from England by a neighbor. I loved them and now my five year old loves them just as much. These are great for early readers, with only a very few British phrases that need translation. Ignore the minor racial insensitivity and get these if you are lucky enough to find them. The publisher should reprint them for all to enjoy!

What a shame
I second the comments made by the reviewer above. I can still remember reading The Secret Seven and Famous Five books when I was a kid and praying that I too somehow will be transported to their world and relive all the adventures that they've gone through. I came in here looking for Ms. Blyton's books for a gift to my niece but I was doubtly dissapointed that they are mostly out of print. Harry Potter and the like are nice books but nothing compares to the Secret Seven and Famous Five series. Read one and you'll know what I mean.

twenty years later i still love her books
it is indeed surprising that enid blyton doesnt seem to be in vogue any longer, infact her books which made many a long summer afternoon fly are not even available today. her variuos mystery and adventure series, incl famous five, secret seven, five findouters, the adventure series starring kiki the talking parrot, the r's mystery series with miranda the monkey and snubby the scallywag, and ofcourse her inimitable school stories the St Claires and Malory Towers and all timeless classics whcih i enjoy even today. i will be happy to chat to like minded readers

Must read
We have many Soul Mates. One of the keys is to be able to be able to know when you found one. Enid is a caring soul who flows with energy and it's definitely there when you read the book I would reccomend it heavily

Invaluable Tool
Have you ever met someone and immediately felt drawn to them? This book will explain why! You can also predict, through the use of easy-to-use tables where you might have problems in relationships you currently have.
