This is a POETRY book
....a warning for those who expected anything else. The poems in this books are, for the most part, rather humorous and bawdy, but when I ordered it, I did not expect to receive in the mail a book of bawdy English poetry.

While the book itself has merit, do not purchase this if you are expecting a collection of erotic writings to "turn your crank", so to speak. You'll be disappointed as I was.

Love Smut!!
This book made me extremely horny!

Sir Richard Styff--You just know his friends call him "Dick"
A rollicking, robust piece of bawdy writing, past and present. May I quote something? Well, perhaps not, this is a family website. Let's just say that the title is from a Robert Burns poem. This book will duly serve those with a taste for exemplary smut.

Fun to read, but just doesn't work.
I bought this book because, basically, I'm lazy. I knew it had to be too good to be true, but what if.....I've been faithfully doing the routine for 8 weeks and have gained inches. I quit doing the aerobics I was doing cause Bodyflex is soooo much easier and I kept eating as I had been. Big mistake. My clothes are uncomfortably tight and I get winded more easily. As my common sense told me, this is too easy to be effective. If you're not doing any type of exercise, perhaps this could help. But if you're already exercising and in pretty good shape (like I WAS) this is no substitute for your regular routine. I think the fact that Greer doesn't eat anything after 4pm may have something to do with her success...I'm very sad that this didn't work but at least my husband got some amusement watching me "exercise."

It really does work!
SMErvin888@aol.com I'm glad to see Kathleen's comment about the book, Hurray for her! I have been doing the breathing exercises for about 3 weeks. I can't do much of any other form of exercise right now because I hurt my foot and just going from one room to another is hard enough. I am trying to eat better for my health, but even when I was on a diet, and did aroebics twice a day I never lost so many inches. It would usually would take me 2 months of exercise and diet to lose just an inch.

Already I have lost 1 1/2 inches off my hips and an inch off my thighs. People are even saying to me you look smaller. I didn't think this program was going to work either until I saw these results and I've only lost 6 lbs. but it looks like I have lost so much more. If anyone want to write to me and tell me how they're doing my e-mail address is SMErvin888

You've GOT TO TRY THIS....it really does work!
I've been doing this workout for only 4 days & am already energized, sleeping soundly @ nights(something I haven't done for about 4 months due to stress & everyday life!)! And while I haven't measure myself, my clothes already feel loose & big on me! This is what the average person needs! Besides that, I like it that it only takes me 15 minutes a day. That is another reason I bought this book. I'm 15 yrs old, a highschooler & I have a job. Time is "of the essence" in my house! This is perfect! I can do it in the time it takes for most people to put on their makeup! Another thing this workout has done for me is it's helped clear up my acne! It's true! I am using a natural acne medication(I have very sensitive skin & can't wear makeup or use anything with chemicals in it.), but I was still having problems on my arms. But this workout has helped alot! That, and a sensible diet. So...buy the book!!!!! It really does work!!!! It's all TRUE! Just try it! What do u have to lose by trying it...well, except that flab!

For those who know the music but want to know the man.
I'm a huge fan and have all the major albums plus a few and thought I knew alot about Nine Inch Nails. Then I read "Self Destruct" and i realized I didn't know half of what there was. The info I gained from reading the book made me appreciate Trent Reznor and his music even more. The book is also great for people who have not yet been introduced to the band and want to learn more. It's great reading- fast paced and even funny in some parts.

Good summary of NIN
I've always been a pretty big fan of Nine Inch Nails, as Trent Reznor is one of the few people with an actual musical vision or views worth listening to. While the book skips most of Reznor's adolescent life and teen-years, unlike the later released "The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell" by label-mate and fellow shock-rocker Marilyn Manson, the book does a better job of telling Trent's story of how he evolved into the music industry and how his life turned into using the studio itself as an instrument. While Manson's autobiography was pleasing in it's disturbing details of the lead singers troubled youth, "Nine Inch Nails" is better off leaving such details out, as Trent has always really wanted things to be about the music and not a bunch of out-played "my parents hate me, I was abused" drivel that would probably be in any book written by a member of KoRn or similar bands.

Instead Martin Huxley decides to focus more on Trent's musical career prior to Nine Inch Nails, with the various successes and failures which filled his life in the musical world, also discussing the making of all the albums up to "The Downward Spiral", the stress of touring and writing an album, and Trent's fallout with one-time bandmate Richard Patrick of Filter.

Piecing together pieces of articles and interviews, along with his own views on Nine Inch Nails' honest and disturbing message, Martin Huxley does a good job of compiling some of the best information on one of the best industrial artists in history (even though Trent prefers not to be called "industrial"). After all, genres can be real limitations. Pick this up whether you're a hardcore fan of NIN or not. Either way it's well-written and interesting and you'll learn something about the band that you didn't know before.

I wish it had more about Trent
This book was pretty good.Kinda A short read though. Most of the interviews on here were pretty good and there was some information about Trent being that he is A very private person.I guess I was just expecting to learn alot more about him.

Lasagna Gardening for Small Spaces: A Layering System for Big Results in Small Gardens and Containers: Garden in Inches, Not Acres (Rodale Organic Gardening Book)

vague and climate-specific
Allow me to be blunt. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.

Pat Lanza gardens in upstate New York. If you don't live in a similar climate, half the book (plant recommendations) isn't going to apply to you. If you want info on in situ composting (which is what she does-- it's not her own original idea, and it's not her grandmother's either), look for books by Ruth Stout (whose books on this topic have been in print since the 1950s) or pursue info on the InterBay Mulch method from Seattle.

There are no pictures of her garden in this book, despite the fact that she spends tons of time describing what her gardens are like and how she created them. I can't remember gaining any really helpful info on pests, composting decomposition, small garden planning, or landscaping techniques, either.

Doesn't sound very helpful, does it?

The book I've been searching for . . .
Finally, a gardening book that doesn't assume you have acres of land and a barn full of expensive equipment--or that you have the money to go out and buy them.

For three years I've been limited to a small balcony, after having lived my life with a large garden. Instead of going through gardening withdrawals, I decided to fill some containers with soil and see what I could grow. I've learned a lot through trial and error, but I've also been on the lookout for a good gardening book that could give me some encouragement and some fresh ideas. "Lasagna Gardening for Small Spaces" is that book.

I found Patricia Lanza's book to be extremely practical and down-to-earth. Even if you don't use her "lasagna" method to create your garden, you can still benefit from her advice about maximizing any small space you have to work with. The basic idea is if you don't have room to grow out, then grow up! And she's not just talking about flowers. She shows how easy it is to grow satisfying crops of just about any vegetable or fruit in tiny plots of land and containers. And she shows how to do it without spending any money. This book is peppered with ideas about how to use things we might consider to be trash as decorative containers, plant supports, and garden tools.

I was especially impressed with the section on pests and disease. Not only does she explain organic remedies for pest and disease problems, she spends time describing simple, natural ways to prevent pests and diseases from even becoming a problem, including a list of plants that attract beneficial insects (so you don't have to spend money to buy eggs or larvae from a catalog).

Perhaps what I am most grateful for in this book is its fearlessness. If the only space you have is a few containers on a balcony, Patricia Lanza doesn't tell you to buy some nice impatiens from the nursery--she tells you to grow an apple tree! If you've been discouraged by the typical container gardening book--you know, the kind that tells you to go out and buy a ridiculously expensive decorative pot and fill it with flashy annuals from the nursery--then give this book a try. Hopefully it will give you the courage to grow a satisfying garden--flowers, vegetables, and even fruits--with whatever space you have to work with, even just a few pots on a balcony, like I have.

Good for First Time Gardeners
Lasagna refers to planting directly in layered compost. I have to think that there's a reason that gardeners don't already do this, like heat production or rate of decomposition. The value in this book are the tips for gardening in small spaces including dwarf varieties. But don't infer that this means patio gardening, as most approaches require some kind of trellis. In general, it is a good book for getting started with gardening.

Not bad!
I have been reading books by Bruce Coville since I was in second grade, and I think that he is a great author for children. Now, this book certainly wasn't his best, but it was up there. I would recommend this to any child who has an interest in science fiction.

Not for beginners
This book offers beautifully designed doll clothing patterns and advice about sewing for dolls in general. However, it is not for beginners as it gives a minimum of construction information. It would have been nice if the smocking designs had been included, but they are not.All in all, it is a beautiful book that will stimulate your imagination to sew for your dolls. It does offer patterns in several useful sizes so that you can make a complete wardrobe for several of your dolls.

Corduroy's Hike (Puffin Easy-To-Read)
Published in Paperback by Puffin (2003)
Authors: Alison Inches and Allan Eitzen
Amazon base price: $3.99

Corduroy's Hike
When Corduroy sneaks into Lisa's backpack for a hiking trip, little dos he know of the adventure that awaits him. A black ink cartoon with spare use of watercolor and crayon to highlight the main characters and events, this easy to read book guides the reader through a semi-textured adventure through the forest. This book includes a more complex and larger controlled vocabulary than that found in Dr. Seuss books. In Dr. Seuss' Shape of Me and Other Stuff, he uses black ink to draw the reader's attention to the main characters; a few primary colors comprise the background and highlight the poetic verse characteristic of Dr. Seuss. Although both Corduroy's Hike and Shape of Me and Other Stuff are both classified as easy reader books, much has changed in the complexity and length of text (and illustration) found in children's books over the years.

Critical Thinking and Communication: The Use of Reason in Argument
Published in Paperback by MacMillan Pub Co (1989)

A good step-by-step guide to argument and debate
I have used this text to teach my argumentation course for the past three years. It has proven very effective in teaching students step-by-step how to recognize claims, evidence and reasoning. Each chapter contains very practical exercises for students to complete proving they grasp the concepts of the chapter. Very clear examples are provided of arguments and the impact of culture on argument (in one chapter). The only weakness is on the focus on debate solely. This is not a weakness for some, but is for me who is striving to introduce students to both dialogue and debate.

AutoLISP Treasure Chest by Bill Kramer
Disappointment. This is a book hard to understand for beginners and almost useless for profesional AutoLISP programmers. What I was lookig for a some exapmples and descriptions of the basic functions to get access complexity entities and instead, found magazine-like article and programs. The rest of the programs except matrix I found very common and very familiar. DCL almost did not tuched and did not explained. However this book still can be usable and at some point helpfull.

AutoLISP Treasure Chest by Bill Kramer
It will help to have some knowledge of AutoLISP before reading this book. It has excellent examples of good programming technique. Some of the programs are difficult to follow so it would be helpful to use the VLISP editor to step through the code. The programming examples have something for everyone. This is an excellent book to have in your library.

Brian R. Ogg
This book can be difficult for beginners but it has a wealth of programming examples. It helps to have the VLISP editor in AutoCAD 14 and above. This allows a person to step through the code one line at a time. I do recommend this book for beginners and intermediates. Just realize that you are going to have to sit down and really study the code. Bill has the ability to combine several ideas in one line of code. These examples show the best way to approach and code a program.
