Learn HTML on the Macintosh is a Great Book!
Learn HTML on the Macintosh is the Best Beginers HTML book I have read. It is perfect for a person who is just starting out with HTML. I highly recomend this book. David Lawrence and David Mark make this book very easy to understand, and provide great e-mail support.
This book is a must-have to start learning HTML right now!
Although this manual is written for Mac users, the concepts arerelevant to anyone new to HTML and will teach you what you need toknow to get started, with directions on where you can go next. The authors have written this book to teach the reader HTML basics their way--the way documentation should be presented to anyone new to the subject. It is fun, it is easy to follow, and it immediately sets the novice at ease. It has an excellent layout, lots of graphics, and every word is relevant. With its accompanying CD-ROM, the book is well worth the price. You can even email David Lawrence with questions. Talk about support! For anyone who has browsed the bookshelves thumbing through the endless daunting and voluminous HTML manuals--mostly written for the PC--this comparatively brief (less than 300 pages) guide is a welcome relief. Let's look forward to a Volume II from these two sorcerers when we graduate from apprentices to webmasters.

A great book
This book makes you understand, learn, think and treat spinal problems in a racional way.
textbook of spinal surgery
This represents a substantial improvement from the first edition, which was a good text in it's own right. The subject matter is more complete, and virtually every topic has been updated. I recommend it highly.

Best reference on thyroid health and treatment.
YOUR THYROID is the single most comprehensive and accessible reference on thyroid problems I have seen. It includes summaries of recent studies that other books lack, it treats the cluster of thyroid problems in a unified way, and raises issues of treatment with the same level of integration. Of particular help to women seeking in-depth information on thyroid issues.
The best thyroid book I've found so far!
Not only did this book help me understand my thyroid and what it does, it helped my primary care giver diagnos my disorder. The book lists all the tests that should be done and what the normal levels should be and it has a great resource listing. It also tells how to trace thyroid problems in families. I finally have a handy resource book at home when I need it!

Local Interest
31 is a collection of stories by Lawrence Clayton. Clayton, author of many books about ranches in Texas, tells his favorite stories about ranches and cowboys in the West Texas area, particularly in Shackleford and Throckmorton counties. It is a good collection, particularly to those who are interested in the history of Albany, Texas, and the cowboy culture that still exists there.

In 1919 Lawrence arrived in Venice with a banned book
In 1919 Lawrence arrived in Venice with a banned book to his name, living on very little and concerned with health problems. His last years in Venice were to include a relationship with Frieda and travels between America, Europe and England - Body Of Truth: D.H. Lawrence, The Nomadic Years, 1919-1930 re-creates his movements and his nomadic years, and his eventual reconciliation with the literary world.

Minor Work
The Boy in the Bush is a minor work being a collaboration between Lawrence & Mollie Skinner. It is still a interesting read containing "Laurentian" ideas more fully worked out in his other novels.

Politics of the Golden State
This is a great textbook, if you are teaching a whole cooure in California politics, or if you give at least two weeks in your American Politics class to California politics. There is a lot of content here, and some good photographs, too. The book contains more information than Gerston's and Christensen's "California Politics: A Practical Approach" (see one of my previous review to learn more about this book), but Gerston and Christensen make a better use of empirical data than Lawrence.
If you feel like going for a lot of information on California politics, then pick up this book. Also, be aware that in addition to facts, this book does theorize from beginning to end, which is something not found in Gerston and Christensen. The book is an easy reas and it puts histroical and political information into a cogent theoretical framework. I certainly recommend it to people wishing to learn more about the politics of the Golden State.

An excellent resource for the practicing physician
This is probably the best single text I have ever seen for the practicing physician interested in clinical gastroenterology. The book is practical, clearly written and does not contain a great deal of extraneous material or information of interest only to laboratory scientists. Illustrations and tables are excellent. The text is very up to date. The physiologic descriptions are concise and valuable. All in all a must for any physician who comes in contact with patients who may have digestive diseases.

Blends a biography with extracts of major critical essays
John Keats (5934-0, $19.95) adds to the research guides in the 'Major Poets' series, blending a biography with extracts of major critical essays examining the poet's works. New to the Major Short Story Writers series ($19.95 each) is D. H. Lawrence (5947-2) and Henry James (5943-X), which use similar approaches to examine the major themes and ideas of each writer. All are recommended as basic library acquisitions.
