Best complete writing on Rastafari
This is the best book I've read on the subject. It is complete and gives the views of various scholars both Rasta and non-Rasta. I keep it as a resource and have read it 3 times.

An excellent overview of Rastafari theology and ideology.
Chanting Down Babylon is a welcomed addition to the growing literature on Rastafari. This reader sucessfully brings together most of the scholars studying Rastafari, as well as Rastafarians themselves, providing an important insight into Rastafari. The inclusion of articles addressing biblical hermeneutics as well as Rastafari theology begins to fill an important gap in Rastafari scholarship. A real treasure for those interested in learning about Rastafari for the first time, and for those who wish to expand their knowledge of this important religious movement.

Good True Story and Photos
The story and photos tell a very interesting view of going off to war. I had no ideal Chaplains had to do so much. I am using the book for a class report---the details and pictures of the Vietnam war from his perspective are highly recommended. Well written. My thanks to all the Chaplains in our country's service.

Excellently Written and Pictorial Vietnam War Narrative
An honest, ground-level, and poignant true story of an Army chaplain, Colonel Sam Hopkins, who served with one of the most highly decorated units of the Vietnam war---4th Battalion, 60th Artillery (Dusters). This plainspoken book is highly recommended because it contains none of the vulgarism, horrors, and often John Wayne bravado depicted in many war narratives. Armed with only a Bible and Kodak Instamatic camera, Hopkins takes the reader on a somber, yet at times humerous, journey into the Vietnam war and the lives of the young American soldiers who fought there; faithfully reminding them time and again, that their frail lives belonged to a higher authority---to "Supreme Six," the Army's slang for God. His feelings, doubts, and fears, before, during, and after the war so clearly presented give this book an unequivocal place in Vietnam war literature.

Excellent and useful
This book is of tremendous assistance to those of us striving to best organize the church for service while understanding our cultural context and the specific spiritual needs of our people.

Just what was needed!
This book was well constructed in 9 powerful and compact chapters. After reading and studying what these authors has to say about the African-American church, pastors and leaders should be pretty much focused and ready to administrate the body in which they have been placed in charge of. Theses authors have left no stones unturned.

COME HOME, LOVE DAD smiles with love
Not all families are disfunctional. In fact, Shelly Reuben proves this beyond a shadow of a doubt. What a wonderful portrait of a loving father as told through her eyes and through his own letters. Reuben paints a picture in words that creates images of a real father. One who lives in a houseful of love, surrounded by his five children, tolerant and loving wife, friends and crazy relatives. One readily sees why Reuben has selected words as her vocation. Her father created, plagerized, quoted and paraphrased the thought provoking guidence and evocative sentiments with which he communicated to his offspring. Written on stationary, or on the back of landlord-tenant court documents, these jewels of creative writing tell of a romantic soul. He is clearly adored, not for his incredible inventions or tenacity regarding real estate investments, but for his character, strength, concern and consideration. Those of us who can relate have surely had fathers of similar noble quality. Those who cannot fathom the beautiful relationships between father and child have missed an incredible experience. Reach back into childhood, read this and enjoy the experience.

Come Home, Love Dad review
If you want to read something that makes you feel good about life, read Shelly Reuben's book, Come Home Love Dad. With so many books flooding the market about serial killers and political espionage it's a pleasure to read something about an actual person that really touches you. Miss Reuben expertly uses narration as well as actual letters written by her father to gradually reveal his personality to the reader. I came to know a man who was an inventor, a landlord, and a salesman, but first and foremost - a father.

Awesome
I read this as a schoolkid in India 30 years back and was entranced by his passionate defense of his clients. Even now the thrill of reading about Justice Leibowitz and the famous trials he participated in makes the Dershowitzs of the world like lilliputians. Like the Beatles it will remain timeless.

JUDGE SAMUEL LEIBOWITZ
On the issue of April 1958 "Selection from the Reader's Digest" published a very important article (condensed from "THIS WEEK") by the well-known JUDGE SAMUEL LEIBOWITZ of the Brooklyn's Court of Assizes, whose title was (on the Italian edition) « Why has Italy the lowest rate of juvenile criminology ». I am trying to trace the original article in English, either that from "Selection from the Reader's Digest" or the original one from "THIS WEEK". Can you help me in some way? Said article concerns the American youth, the American family, and the American way of living, as compared to other nations'. You'll be very interested yourself for sure!

The next step and a must have for those woring with felons
This is an excellent book to continue the journey of understanding the Criminal Mind. This book is more detailed. It shows the drawbacks and the difficulty working with this population. It examines every approach from the past up to and including the present in trying to change Criminal behavior. Why methods have failed and what holds promise. Most of the research was done by a man named Samuel Yochelson who shared his ideas and work with Dr Samenow. Together they untangle the maze that has baffled many on this topic. A must have for those working in the criminal justice fields.

Answers why criminals are that way and how to fix them.
"Conventional wisdom" about criminals is wrong. Dr. Yochelson found why criminals are the way they are and how to habilitate them. Volume I exposes the areas in which criminals are different than responsible people. Volume II is a method for correcting those differences, but, as joke says, "they gotta wanna change."

Read these books to find out why the current system doesn't rehabilitate habitual criminals.

Dr. Samenow collaborated on these volumes and wrote other books for the general audiance.

The Best of the Best
"Crush" kept me on the edge of my seat. It was exciting from the very start right up to the end with a lot of surprises along the way. I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the emotions and excitement of true crime. Samuel E. Stone's ability to pull you into the story line is beyond belief...it's great... I could not put it down...Thank You, Samuel E. Stone keep the stories coming...

Crush It pulls you into the excitement and suspense
Wow, what an action grabbed. Crush seems to just pull you into the lives of the undercover cops revealing all the human emotions they experience. It's down to earth, with realistic overtones of political corruption, mistakes, coverups, life, and death situations. I couldn't put it down and when I was done it left me wanting more. A Great novel by Samuel E. Stone
