This book gives you a small glimpse of Elton John's career up to 1976. It is not a really long book, but it holds your interest. The complicated upbringing of Elton when he was known by his birth name Reginald Dwight. And how he struggled to be seen and heard by his stern father and schoolmates. How music became his salvation through this trying period, and his mother's encouragement to stick with pop music which Elton loved and felt he could best express himself, despite the objections of his father who demanded that he stick with the classics. Elton's tenure in the band Bluesology and how he took the names of two of it's leaders Elton Dean and Long John Baldry and made them his own. He even gave himself a new middle name: Hercules. His determination to write and perform his own songs, and how he found a kindred spirit in Lyricist Bernie Taupin. His debut at the club trubadour in Los Angeles in 1970, and his subsequent success with his self titled debut album, and all the success that followed after. I think that Elton would be happy that he followed his dream of music superstardom instead of following in his father's footsteps. Because of that, you're bound not to see a sign bearing the name Reginald Dwight and Co., which is what probably would have happened to him had he listened to his dad. We're the lucky ones because it didn't happen that way, and we would have missed out on a lot of great music if it had.

i was amazed how small the book was when it arrived. It was absolutly jam packed with useful little bits of information that clarified topic after topic. this is going to be an invaluble aid for undertaking a research project, i reccomend it highly!

This is a great text full of useful information on over 400 chemicals. The text offers information on melting point, density, Henry's law constant, soil sorption coefficient, octanol/water partition coefficient, solubility in organics and water, vapor density and pressure. The text includes a section on each chemical discussing environmental fate, toxicity, drinking water standard and use of each chemical. I've found this book very helpful over the last 10 years.

The text is written in a simple pattern. Each sentence begins "I see patterns on . . ." This makes it easy for ESL students to follow.
Since the book uses only one verb, this will be a good starter for a lesson on the present tense. For lessons on other verb tenses, you can modify this book.

J. Backhouse's work is truly inspirational and this is no exception. The book is wonderfully written and truly reflects backhouse's easy, commanding style. The chapters are concise and easy to read, and Backhouse uses his pure genuis to bring the reader to new levels of understanding. His refreshing teaching stylr also compliments the book and this is probably due to his views on practice makes perfect. Any person who stumbles across this book should read on, and learn all about the backhouse phenomenon that is sweeping the world ( or the floor of whitgift mathematical department anyway!). J. Backhouse for ever!

A beautifully written, gorgeous book about keeping wild birds as pets. Their antics are very funny indeed, and kept me chuckling, but are told with sensitivity and understanding.

I love this book! Reassuring statements to children that Jesus cares for them backed by bible verses. Makes learning these verses easy and fun for children. The illustration of this book is so precious! It and the message of this book make it #1 in my book! I have the whole series for my 8 month daughter and I am buying it for all my friends with children.

Excellent portrayal of feelings experienced by a child who has been sexually abused by her own father. I have used this book for sexual abuse prevention programs conducted for fifth-graders, and they were very engaged by the narrative. I wish this book were in all middle school libraries, so that children experiencing this same loneliness and pain would be empowered to reach out for help. Written in a sensitive, non-graphic manner, the message in this book is encouraging and hopeful. Special bonuses are the almost poetic voice and imagery and the outstanding illustrations. Highly recommended!

I am currently using this book in a college composition course. I find this book to be extrememly helpful in writing my essays. The book gives examples of different types of essays and even examples of parts of essays, like the Introduction and Conclusion. This book is easy to read and understand.
