Excellent Bio Of This Overlooked Confederate Guerilla
Captain John J. Dickison, 2nd Florida Cavalry, CSA, was Florida's equivalent during the Civil War to Virginia's celebrated partisian John Mosby, or to Kentucky's John Hunt Morgan. It was Dickison and his small band of horsemen who almost single-handedly kept Florida's interior from falling under Union control. Using the states natural terrain for cover and employing modern guerilla tactics, he inspired such fear and respect in his northern enemies that Federal forces rarely ventured west of the St. Johns River in central and north Florida. This land became known as "Dixie-land", a play on his last name, and he became known to all as the "Swamp Fox". Using numerous published and unpublished primary sources, Mr. Koblas has written the first-ever thorough military biography of this legendary and overlooked Confederate.

Jackson Mississippi an American Chronicle of Struggle and Schism
Published in Paperback by Krieger Publishing Company (1987)
Author: John Salter

Haunting personal tale of hope.
John Salter, an intelligent and provacative leader of just causes wrote this personal memoir of his work in Jackson Missippii with Medgar Evers, the citizens of that town, and their struggle for equality in that embattled era. Mr. Salter took the struggle into his home, his school, and the community out of sympathy for the students he worked for. He is the person that is portrayed as the "mustard man" in news photos as he was covered in condoments by white residents while in sitting on a stool in a diner in solidarity for equal rights with his students.

Mr. Salter is a gifted writer, this well written book reads like a novel. He paints a vivid picture of that grey time, but injects hope for all of us this account.

Essential reading for anyone interested in United States History and in the struggle for equal rights throughout the world.

(Annual) Definintive guide to aircraft and engines
For almost 80 years Jane's has published an annual guide to currently produced aircraft (including Remotely Piloted Vehicles, Balloons, Sailplanes, Sport (homebuilt/experimental) aircraft, and aircraft engines. It has become the definitive guide to aircraft. Detailed descriptions of the aircraft, performance, systems and design are included. Jane's style is dry (arid) but well developed. Any reader whose interests are in the romance associated with a maker or model, or who delights in the vicarious thrill of climb power and roll rates will find this a dull text. The reader who need to determine which models were manufactured in which years and equipped with which engines will find a data trove within these pages.

John Dewey and the Philosopher's Task (John Dewey Lecture (Teachers College Press).)
Published in Hardcover by Teachers College Pr (2002)
Author: Philip W. Jackson
Amazon base price: $42.00
Average review score:

a glimpse into the philosopher's personal struggle
Prof. Jackson takes up the evolution of John Dewey's philosophy by focusing on the shifts in perspective and the shift in terminology in successive rewrites Dewey produced for his work "Experience and Nature."

The voice Prof. Jackson uses is that of a friend. Someone who has taken up philosophy as a profession, and who reflects on the fruitfulness of the endeavor.

Dewey scholars will find much new and interesting to contemplate. And I came away with a fresh sense of compassion for John Dewey, the human person struggling to understand.

More than this, however, is Prof. Jackson's personal and personable thoughts about his own experience with this work. What happens here is, in effect, a glimpse into the mind of a philosopher who struggles to get a glimpse into the mind of a philosopher. With both efforts directed towards an understanding of the profession of philosophy.

And where we end up is with a good insight into the very human and very well-intended process of DOING philosophy humanely.

Thank-you, Prof. Jackson.

This book is a collection of theses of Jackson who is the scholar who cannot be ignored before studying GATT/WTO. These theses were selected, and important in studying GATT/WTO. Before writing a thesis related to them, this book is very useful material for the researcher.

Khare-Cityport of Traps (Steve Jackson's Sorcery, Sorcery! 2)

AWESOME
The second book in the Sorcery Series is a lot harder than the first, and you probably won't make it through without starting over a couple of times. To unlock the magical gate at the far edge of the city, you must find 4 spell lines scattered throughout Khare. Part of what makes these books cool is that you see & do interesting things even when you are on the "wrong" path - you don't just die like in other choose-your-own-adventure books. Even though you can play this one right away, it's a LOT easier if you did certain things in Sorcery! 1.

Return request of Lost Villages
With the recent interest in genealogy research, I feel this book is an excellent source for all researchers looking for cemeteries within the Delaware County boundries.

I just recently found this book and recommend it to everyone doing genealogy work. The draw back is that it is out of print.

I feel that a reprint would definitely be in order. I understand the first time around was a huge success and see it doing the same again. Who ever would make this decision would be well advised to give it very serious consideration.

A superb book on the location of many old and forgotten cemeteries as well as a great source of lost historical information on old villages and their peoples and lives.

Not a book a game but WHAT A GAME!
...this card game is simple, fun and a riot for any person who has ever played D & D,

In Munchkin you are dealt a hand of cards. Each player starts off as first level, you play items and draw cards, and when you see a monster you fight it, and what monsters, The Potted Pland, the Drooling Slime, the Plutonium Dragon, the stoned Ogre, you get the idea.

You are helped by items such as Don the Horny Helmet, Boots of Butt-Kicking, the singing and dancing sword, but beware, the people you play with might help the monsters to help themselves to your treasure. They may help you instead, for a price that is.

It is very simple, if the strength of your weapons and level combined are higher than the monsters level (enhanced by your foes) you win and get treasure cards and go up a level or you can buy a level for 1000 gold by selling items.

The game is fast paced and very tounge - in - cheek. The maker says it "captures the essence of the dungeon experience...with none of that stupid roleplaying stuff."

Simple, fast paced and full of fun, buy this one...

Get Ready to Fight Back!
Being Christian is not an easy life. When a child of God finally makes their confession of faith, Satans workload gets larger, but the believer is his prime target for all his powerlessness. His work consists of extinguishing the believer and all that he or she can effect for God through whatever weaknesses he can find. This short book helps the reader realize why things have or have not been so smooth in their transition from unbeliever to believer. It will wake you up! When God opens doors we're supposed to walk through them; walk through this book and you'll never regret that you were reading instead of mowing the lawn or checking your email. God bless!
