An Inspiration to my Art Students!
Last year I used this book as a resource for a special high school art unit that I developed entitled "Sacred Circles." In addition to learning about circular artwork in various cultures and world religions, students used Judith's beautiful illustrations and step by step guides to create mandalas of their own. (...) This is a book that I still have available in my classroom and students continue to refer to it (independently!) to advance their drawing techniques. SO glad I bought this!

Radiantly Inspiring
The beauty of the mandalas pictured in the book intimidated me because it had been so many years since I'd created any art. I didn't think I could do it. But I did it and I'm extremely grateful to Judith Cornell for writing this book. Working on the exercises at home, alone, is not the same experience as it would be in a group. The group can offer a creative support level that helps each individual surpass previous achievements. However, I'm so happy with the mandalas I created as a result of these exercises that I've put each one up on the wall. And, even more important, I've continued to draw. No more creative blocks for me!

Incredibly AWE inspiring!
Mandala: Luminous Symbols for Healing, by Judith Cornell, is absolutely the most incredibly beautiful book I've ever held in my hands. Holding and looking at it, even before reading, is like a sacred experience. Is it the beauty of the lay-out and illustrations? The very real spiritual impact of the mandalas presented, both historical and contemporary? A moment of healing even in the first moment's gasp of awe while browsing its pages? One even begins to caress its binding. One of my favorite activities now is to present it to friends and watch their faces--their eyes pop open, their jaws drop in amazement--and hear the quick intake of breath as its color begins to radiate into their awareness. Beyond the first impression, reading took me to awesome depths and insights regarding ultimate reality, syntheses I'd previously long puzzled. Don't miss this dazzling yet holy experience. Look, read, and practice the simple yet brilliant art-as-at-one-ment exercises for the depth of your life.

EXCELLENCE ALL AROUND!
One of the better writers - bar none!
A gripping story of wounded love and broken trust.
Caity brought about the healing of Justice and love to the children. And eventually forgiveness for McKenna. A true womanly spirit willing to make her marriage work.

McKenna developed a strong, fighting spirit to survive the harsh living conditions that he had not been born into. He overcame his misunderstandings to finally be able to acknowledge his love.
A love he was afraid to admit to - afraid of the vulnerability of love.

I loved the family ties of Justice McKenna, Gabriel Larocque and Mary Rouge and their interaction with McKenna and his family.
And especially how Derry confused Shane McKenna and yet won his love. Then to have Shane sacrifice his buckskin, Cherokee for his family was especially moving.

this book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and please Ms. French, can we follow the McKenna family and have a story for Justice????
Add this book to your library - you won't be sorry!

Luved it!
Excellent, Judith describes the characters so well that you don't have to try hard to imagine them. I couldn't put it down. I could feel all the emotions rushing through Emma, and I was so happy with the ending. This is deffinately a getter:)

Excellent!
"McKenna's Bride" is the first book I have read by Judith French. It is a wonderful romantic story and I highly recommend that you read it. I am looking forward to my next selection by Judith French.

very cool book
We like to eat pasta and have really come to like the whole wheat and other pastas that are actually good for you. This book has been a great resource for us. The recipes are really really good, easy to prepare and have opened my eyes to much more than just the basic tomato sauce. There are recipes for bean and pasta soups, all sorts of pastas with different vegetables, a variety of pasta salads, and more. Really inspirational

Knock your socks off dishes! Mouth watering every time.
This is the one cookbook I go back to over and over. Every single recipe I have tried has been absolutely delicious. Well worth reading the front section on selecting pastas, cheeses and olive oils. My favorites are: Pasta Primavera, Spaghetti with Pumpkin(which I have prepared and served at least 20 times this year), Roasted zucchini half moons with bow tie pasta, & the lasagnas. I am now purchasing additional books as gifts to my friends. You do not have to be vegetarian to love these dishes.

A wealth of excellent recipes
In depth information about ingredients allow you to choose the very best for each recipe; preparations are simple but sophisticated with many innovative vegetable/cheese compositions resulting in great dishes with distinct flavour!

The art of relaxation made easy.
This book is all about letting go by doing nothing purposefully. Judith Lasater, a very experienced Iyengar yoga teacher, shows the reader in words and pictures how to use everyday props (e.g., blankets, pillows, walls and floors) to travel the highway to the state of relaxation. I had the opportunity to practice restorative yoga with Ms. Lasater in Montana about two years ago and I can attest to the fact this yoga works to relax both the mental and physical muscles in the body if practiced regularly. Since most people can't go off to Montana to practice yoga, this book is the next best thing to being there.

A Spiritually-Inspired Book!
So much of "doing" yoga seems to focus on extreme physical performance. Judith's philosophy of just relaxing and doing it, is a great relief. Practicing yoga can become another chore, another ritual. This book is a welcome paradigm shift in the yoga world! For the eternal beginner in all of us!

A must for anyone who wants to reduce stress in their life!
Judith Lasater's wonderful book on restorative yoga, Relax & Renew, sits near my yoga mat in plain view, reminding me to take time everyday to restore and replenish myself.

Two years ago my already busy life as a mother, yoga teacher, writer and community activist got even busier when I decided to run for public office and serve on our local City Council. Instead of drinking coffee to keep going, I practice the restorative poses taught in Judith Lasater's book. I refer to Relax & Renew regularly to deepen my own understanding of restorative yoga and also to better instruct my students.

For busy people juggling many hats, I recommend this book highly! A must read for politicians and anyone wanting to reduce stress in their life!

Interesting, and somewhat accurate
This book is an interesting look at your birthday and how it seems to affect personality and character. I did not think my birthday description was correct, but it did seem accurate for some of my friends. (it is hard to be objective on one's own personality)

I first read this book while waiting for an intuitive reading, and decided to buy it. It is fun to share with friends, and I have used it as an ice breaker for a get-together.

The book gives colors, gems, flowers and fragrances for your birthday. As well, your lucky numbers, charms, best day of the week. etc. Judith then gives a description of your personality and it is fun to read about those close to you to see if the description fits. Entertaining, and detailed.

subtle traits about yourself
this book contains typical horoscope information. however, there are some fun additional things like finding out the right composer for you and finding out which tree matches your birthdate. judith's remarks are also remarkably accurate. this is a really fun coffee table book or book to use for an icebreaker!!

The Hidden world of Birthdays
I love this book because it was so accurate. I enjoy reading about Astrology but this book it the nail on the head. I felt like the author new me and all my family members. It's a good book to have if you want to findout who someone really is.

Wonderful
A very witty and perceptive collection by a fine writer. Would love to see more but blessedly this is the kind of fiction that you can read more than once and still enjoy on each reading. I am off to her novel!

Terrific, lucid, hilarious stories
This writer isn't afraid to be smart about human errors we all make. Her stories about family and motherhood and estrangement from people closest to us are shockingly insightful and I felt I had lived in her shoes by the time I finished reading. Her story, "Mammalia," about a mother coming to terms with her own daughter's sexuality is amazing. This writer is a British transplant and has all the elegance of Virginia Woolf and the common ground of every American woman.

tragicfunny, funnytragic
I picked up this book knowing nothing of Grossman's earlier work, but that's my next stop. So smart, so funny, so sad. She's English, apparently, and I get the feeling it's her outsider status that allows her to see America so clearly. What a beautiful book.

Miss Manners Rescues Civilization: From Sexual Harassment, Frivolous Lawsuits, Dissing and Other Lapses in Civility

Good Manners Are Not Just Common Sense
A quick test: Your daughter is getting married and has all of the
household gadgets she needs. Would it be appropriate to enclosed
in the wedding invitations that she and her future husband want
to go to Hawaii for their honeymoon and that cash would be
appreciated?

What would you do if your child was invited to a friend's
birthday party and the invitation listed the gifts that would be
desired? What if your child couldn't go and his friend's mother
told him to drop by later on to drop off his gift?

Stuck so far? Here's an easier one: A colleague at work has a bad
habit of mooching the snacks that you bring for your own use.
Should you send him a note, along with a bag of goodies, telling
him that for his own good you will not share any more?

Less you think I'm making these up, all three problems are
covered in Judith Martin's latest book, Miss Manners Rescues
Civilization. We live today in a society that feels etiquette can
be dropped for common sense, a society that laughs at people who
worry which fork to use for their salad. But Miss Manners (her
column appears in a number of newspapers) disagrees.

One of the major problems in today's society is rudeness. You see
it on the streets, in the classroom, in the workplace, and even
in the home. Just telling people to show good manners isn't
enough, though; we have to specify what those manners are! And
just telling folks to do what makes them comfortable is an
invitation to disaster.

Thus if we remember the specific rule that invitations are sent
to people we want to share our happiness and are not indications
that we expect gifts, we can avoid quite a few headaches. High
school graduates, for example, don't have to worry that an
invitation to a friend will suggest they are asking for presents,
and receiving an invitation from a friend's child does not mean
you have to fork over. It merely means you are being asked to
share in their happiness.

You will probably find a number of your own pet peeves here: the
doctor who calls his 65-year-old patient "John" but who wants to
be called Dr. Jones himself, the nephew who hasn't sent a thank-
you note six months after you mailed a nice gift, and the sales
clerk who ignores you while she finishes her telephone
conversation with a friend.

You'll enjoy her examples and may even learn some manners!

Delightful good sense and good humor
Judith Martin, a.k.a. Miss Manners, will save civilization if anyone can. This book, like her column, is full of good sense and good humor -- and she's got the importance of etiquette just exactly right. Please read this book at once, and try to find a polite way to get everyone you know to read it too.

Less Dr. Laura, More Miss Manners
Miss Manners presents the keys to a more gracious and civilized world, without the "slash-and-burn" style of other social commentators. Old-fashioned without being reactionary, Miss Manners is a role model for us all. Read Miss Manners--please.

Road Warrior learned a few tips!
I love this book! I travel every week and I always find the packing for the trip to be the worst! I absolutely dread it each week. This book helped change that!

The different checklists are great for getting organized AND making sure that you pack every thing you need for your trip.

The bundling system is so incredibly simple and easy... with no wrinkles once you arrive at your destination.

The last part of this book is chock full of good reading on how to pack those bulky items such as shoes and winter sweaters and coats.

With all the security requirements with the airlines now (and tough limits on carry-ons), I really recommend this book... and I'm a road warrior that should've figured out how to pack by now!

Don't need travel iron anymore!!
After reading this book I found I could pack more "stuff" and arrive at my destination with wrinkle free clothing! The "bundle" method is a great idea. I recently bought this same book for my daughter-in-law and a friend's daughter who was traveling abroad.

Packing Paradise
Judith Gilford's book is aimed to the ones who have no clue about of how to pack, no matter if it is related to a weekend, business trip or a dreamy vacations. She makes the worst part of any travel experience mild and clear with her hints and tips throughout the book. It is a must-read if you need to know how to pack right. End of story!
