VERY GOOD!!
I really liked this one. I was really happy when Jana and Randy went on a date together in the beginning, and loved seeing Taffy jealous! I was mad though how Randy acted when all those girls started fawning all over him and how he ignored Jana. I cheered when she stood up for herself and told him exactly what she thought of him! He deserved it, and I'm glad that woke him to his senses. This is a really good book, though I don't think a girl's life she revol around hoping a cute guy likes you. Al the same, I wish people would quit saying how 'dumb' this series is compared to BSC. Sure the girls act different, but everyone likes to read different stuff, so I'm happy w/ the way Taffy, Fab. Five is!! I WISH ALL THE TAFFY BOOKS AND FABULOUS FIVE SERIES WOULD GO BACK IN PRINT!!!!

Lights-ready-aCtIoN!!
This one, like "The Truth About Taffy Sinclair", isfrom Taffy's point of view. Finally, after her little parts in TVshows and commericals, Taffy is off to Hollywood to play the main role in a TV movie. There she must deal with the snooty Paige Kramer who wants her part and try to figure out whether one of her co-stars, the teen idol Raven Blaine, likes her or not. Plus, she's worried that her best friend back home is going out with her boyfriend! This is a good book with a lot of plot twists!!

Taffy gets revenge...
When one of Jana's experiments to make the Fabulous Five better friends backfires, she ends up with 4 new enemies! But the biggest shock comes when Taffy Sinclair starts hanging out with Jana and offering to teach her things that will get 'boy's attention'. But when Jana realizes Taffy has been tricking her all along- it's time to get back at Taffy and get her old friends back! This is a really good book. I feel bad that Jana gets tricked, but I know if I were Taffy, I'd jump at the opportunity to get back at my worst enemy. I still think Taffy was kinda mean because Jana really trusted her.

A Very Good Book!
I couldn't say that this was the best in the series b/c i havn't read all of them, but this book was the best out of the five i read... yeah i know only FIVE, but thats because they are no where to be found. I don't know why this book is out of print, the baby sitters club is just as old but it's still out on book store shelves! i wish this series would go back in print. I wish i didn't start reading these because i got so hooked on them!!! ok anyways this book was really touching, i even cried. Jana gets upset when she hears laura McCall talking in the hall about randy(jana's b/f), jana thinks laura wants to take him away from her. When she spots randy and laura sitting together at bumbers jana gets mad and runs out of bumbers away from randy, she doesn't see the oncomming car but randy does. He pushes jana out of the way but gets hit himself. Randy goes into a comma and jana blames herself for the accident. thats what mainly the book is about this IS a MUST READ!

The 11th Book in The Fabulous Five Series
When 13-year-old Jana Morgan overhears a rumor about her boyfriend (Randy Kirwan) and another girl (Laura McCall), she can't help but believe it's true, especially after she catches them together at a local hangout, Bumpers. Randy tries to convince her there's nothing going on, but Jana runs away before he can finish--and almost gets hit by a speeding car. Randy quickly saves her by pushing her out of the way, but by doing so, he is hit by the car instead.

The two teens are then rushed to the hospital where Randy remains in a coma and Jana recovers from a concussion and a few minor bruises. During her short stay, Jana befriends a young girl (Lisa "the brat" Pratt) who has also been in a car accident. Lisa is enough of a distraction for Jana to forget her own problems; yet Jana still worries Randy may die before she has a chance to make up with him.

As best as I can remember, this was one of my favorite Fab Five books among the handful that I did read. It's a little soapy now that I look back on it, but other young girls (around 9-12) will probably like it as much as I did.

By far, my favorite
I remember this book about ten years ago when it was first published. I was really into the Fabulous Five then, even though I was almost 16! It was my guilty pleasure and I wish Ms. Haynes continued the series. She inspired me to make up my own stories and I am still writing to this day. The Fabulous Five, in my opinion, was always better than the BSC and this particular selection is by far the best.

Strong plot on drinking, but Jana needs to grow up still...
I thought the part about the drinking at the class trip was realistic & especially the part dealing with peer pressure was real when the Fantastic Foursome ridiculed the Fab Five for not joining in the drinking. I liked how Katie was courageous enough to openly refuse to drink at Shawnie's party no matter what others said. Katie's always been my fave; she has a lot of courage. It was good that the other Fab Five members came around & resolved not to drink on the trip, even with Laura's teasing. The descriptions of the Ellis Island trip was good & I was touched by how Katie was aware of the beauty & significance of the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island & the important role immigration had in American history. I think Jana needs to grow up when it comes to "her" Randy, though! Randy tries to help Laura discuss trouble that she has at home & Jana falls into a jealous snit & ruins the trip for herself & almost for Randy too! And I think that when Laura got drunk, then threw up on the trip, I get the feeling that Jana was feeling superior. Of course Randy comes back & reassures Jana that he's ever-devoted to her & tells her, "I'm glad you never handled things the way Laura did." Jana secretly gloats over Laura's mistake & the fact that Laura's embarrassed in front of everyone on the trip. I think Jana needs to have a little more compassion, even if she doesn't like Laura.

Peer Pressure...
This book was one of the most realistic ones in the entire series. When the 7th graders at Wacko Jr. High find out they will be the reigning class next year (as Wacko is becoming a middle school) it's party time! But Jana Morgan soon finds out the downside of the whole thing when a lot of the kids in her class start acting like big deals and planning on showing their "maturity" by taking liquor in thermoses on their class trip to Ellis Island. When Jana, the rest of the Fab Five and some of their other friends decide not to drink, they are ridiculed as 'babies'. (how true!) Meanwhile, Jana is also becoming a bit worried when she sees her worst enemy (Laura McCall) hanging around her boyfriend, Randy Kirwan, a lot. Is something really going on between them, or is she being paranoid again? Plus, Jana is also upset that she hasn't heard from her father lately- is her new stepmom hiding Jana's letters from her dad? And what's up with Beth? This is a great book, and I know you'll like it!

Uh oh....
Jana is really upset when most of her class gets all caught up in being the upperclassman the next year and start doing things (like planning to take booze on a field trip) that Jana and her friends don't think are right. I thought the storyline was really interesting and that it was a lot more realistic then some of the other books in the Fab Five series. Also, it was so exciting that she got a letter from her dad! All through the series, I've been hoping things would get resolved between her and her dad, and this is a start. I really really wish Betsy Haynes would write another series about the girls in 8th grade or highschool- there is so much more that can happen! Why are these good books out of print? Also, I thought it was good that Laura got some come-uppance in this book. She always does nasty things and gets away with it, but here she learned a lesson. Though you do feel a little bad for her. I hope you can find this book and read it some day. GO BACK IN PRINT!
