My daughters keep asking for this book!
My daughters continuously request this book when we go to the library. They decided to purchase it the next time we go to a book store. They enjoyed the pictures and were eager to see what would occur the next evening in the story. A Fun Book!

Wonderful children's book
My son loved this book! As the recent "winner" of a newborn baby sister, my two-and-a-half year-old son was most interested in any book that addressed his concerns. He asked Mommy and Daddy to read THIS book night after night, and it was evident that it helped him with his own feelings of anxiety, and love, for his new sister. It's a very enjoyable book, with lovely pictures

The best in the series
Welcome to Icewind Dale! The Bloodstone Lands, of Vaasa and Damara, are the infamous realms where blood and power reign supreme. As featured in the H series of modules, this land of ice, hope and monstrous terrors is the ideal setting for high-level campaigns. It's here that Orcus, the Prince of the Undead, once reigned supreme. This book features details on culture and history, recent events (summarizing the H modules), foreign relations, cities and ruins, races and monsters, dungeons, famous personages, 8 outlined adventures, and more! An instant classic, and by far the most in-demand book in the series, with good reason.

an extremely well done overview of the bloodstone lands
Bob Salvatore provides the reader with all the information you need to run a full scale roleplaying campaign in this area of the forgotten realms, giving a summary of the recent events in this region (see h1-h4) and describing the major places, lands, cities and NPCs.

The most interesting story that I have ever read.
This book was written by my grandfather. It is his account of World War II, having been through it while still a child. It contains many topics that are not regularly discussed when talking about the war, including the fact that people from many nations were used as slaves in small farm communities, and were the property of regular people. However, many showed kindness to my grandfather, proving that not all people involved in this war were evil, or followed the ideals of the government. The way in which it is written allows it to be read and understood easliy.

captivating book
This book [THE BRIDGE OVER THE MAIN] is a book that keeps your interest till the last page of the book. Every chapter is exciting , it captures all your feelings. Even the two back pages Olypia and Stan. Also the back cover.

Terrific simple instructions, with a spiral binding!!
This is a great bartender's book. It has all the drinks, nicely indexed by liquor type, illustrations of the proper glasses, and instructions on how to stock your own bar. Just as importantly: it has a SPIRAL BINDING. This is key, because it stays open to the same page when you're trying to mix a drink. If you're like me, you need both hands to work on the drink, not hold the book open. Try that with Mr. Boston's and it'll drive you crazy!! Seriously!

Perfect for the up & coming home bartender
The book is well organized into sections of Brandy, Gin, Rum, ... as well as indexed by drink name. The book also contains informative descriptions and history of various spirits. Top-notch book. Buy it.

Fantastic writing - this is an excellent novel
"Love, Zena Beth" is truly one of the best novels I've read in a long time. Part of it's appeal lies in the fact that it is skillfully written, but it also has the authenticity of feeling often lacking in novels (lesbian novels in particular). The book has many humorous moments as well as powerfully sensual scenes. The characters are multidimensional. The dilemma and feelings experienced by the protagonist are as real as I've ever found in print. This author is very talented.

Highly recommended.
This is one of the best novels I've read in a long time. Salvatore makes the experience very realistic for the reader... almost uncomfortably so. The style of writing is excellent and it is clear that this author is quite skilled. It is easy to get lost in this book.

Best Ever!
This is one of the finest photographic books ever irregardless of it being a state book. The compositions are fantastic and varied.

The book is destined to become a classic and Mr. Vasapolli a place amongst the finest photographers ever!

Best ever!
I love Montana and I own almost every book on Montana. This one in particular is destined to be a classic amongst photographic essays. The compositions are varied in itself and each a fantastic journey of Montana cities and wildernesses. Not a weak one in the whole lot- except the ugly bighorn sheep shedding it's winter coat- the sheep is ugly, but the surroundings are still beautiful.

It's a book bound for several editions and Mr. Vasapolli a place along side the photographic greats of all time.

Random Heterogeneous Materials

Fundamental book discovering new horizons in micromechanics
The micromechanics of random structure heterogeneous materials is a multidisciplinary research area that has experienced a revolutionary renascence at the overlap of various branches of materials science, mechanical engineering, applied mathematics, technical physics, geophysics, and biology. The present book is a perfect reflection of this overlapping. It demonstrats intriguing successes of unified rigorous theoretical methods of applied mathematics and statistical physics in material science of microheterogeneous media. The prediction of the behavior of heterogeneous materials by the use of properties of constituents and their microstructure is a central problem of micromechanics. This book is the first one in micromechanics where a successful effort of systematic and fundamental research of the microstructure of the wide class of heterogeneous materials of natural and synthetic nature is attempted. The uniqueness of the book by Torquato consists of the development and expressive representation of statistical methods quantitatively describing random structures (first part of the book) which are at most adopted for the forthcoming evaluation of a wide variety of macroscopic transport, electromagnetic, elastic, and chemical properties of heterogeneous materials (second part of the book). The popular methods in micromechanics that are essentially one particle ones which are invariant with respect to statistical second and higher order quantities examining the association of one particle relative to other particles. The book by Torquato expressively reflects the explosive character of progress of the modern micromechanics caused by the development of image analyses and computer-simulation methods from one side and improved materials processing from the other hand, since processing controls the prescribed microstructure. This progress in micromechanics is based on the methods of allowing for the statistical mechanics of a multi-particle system considering n-point correlation functions and direct multi-particle interaction of inclusions, and the book presents a universally rigorous scheme of both analyses of the microstructures and prediction of macroscopic properties which leaves room for corrections of their individual elements if improved methods are utilized for the analysis of these individual elements.

This book is a landmark in the area of advanced heterogeneous materials and constitutes an excellent balance of depth and clarity of their representation. Every science library and every individual involved in serious research in heterogeneous materials must have this book which will be interesting for both advanced senior scientists and graduate students.

A modern and comprehensive treatise of material properties
I had the opportunity to use this text while taking Prof. Torquato's material science course at Princeton. The classnotes were a condensed version of the book, while the book describes all the concepts in their glorious details. The book presents a unified treatment of the basic equations of continuum mechanics (flow, elasticity, conduction, diffusion) from a statistical mechanical viewpoint, in composite materials characterized by effective properties (conductivity, permeability, stiffness, trapping constant). The effective properties are calculated rigorously from first principles via an arsenal of correlation functions (for random media- see Section I). To my knowledge, it is the first book which treats all these topics in the context of *random* media. Most of these statistical mechanical techniques were previously available only in the specialized literature. This treatment is modern, and lucid. Difficult concepts are explained via numerous examples. Careful attention is paid to the mathematical results. The book uses lots of vector and tensor calculus, so a quick review of these concepts will be helpful. An acquaintance with modern statistical mechanics is recommended (Chandler, McQuarrie). Extensive use is made of variational principles in the second half of the book. There is, of course, a section on hard sphere packing for which the author is well-known for. The chapter on Homogenization theory is one of the best I've seen.

Worth waiting a century for
"Therese and Lisieux" is an iconography of Therese which has delighted her friends. A marvel of precision and incomparable photographic work, combining scholarly detail with popular appeal, it shows the friends of Therese pictures of many scenes, objects, and documents never previously available. The English text explains the significance of all the photos and places them in context. You can follow Therese month by month in this powerful visual pilgrimage through her life. Don't miss this work of art, which opens the Lisieux Carmel to all of us.

A Theresian Treasure
The unbelievable photographs in this book chronicle the life of Saint Therese. It is a veritable scrapbook of authentic photos, relics, handwritten documents, and personal items that any devotee of Saint Therese will treasure. For those who are familiar with her autobiography and the story of her life, it is the next best thing to a pilgrimage to Lisieux.

A Guide to Playing the Mythos Card Game
This book contains miscellaneous information about the Mythos collectible card game. It contains: the rules of the game, a FAQ, a short play and deck construction guide, a sort of designer's notes on the game, background information on selected cards, rules for solitaire play and creating your own adventures, a complete spoiler list for the limited edition of the game and lists of card attributes and requirements for completing adventures.

As a collector and player of the game, I found the designer's notes on the history of the game and the design philosophy to be especially interesting. Also useful to me are the short notes on the background of selected cards and the rules for creating and scoring your own adventures. The pictures of the selected cards are black & white with a paragraph of background info. Buyers should also note that there is an updated version of the rules of the game at the Chaosium website.
