Origins of the English Language
Joseph Williams's Origins of the English Language: A Social & Linguistic History accurately highlights the history of the English language from the evolution of man clear through to Modern English that we speak today, providing enough knowledge for anyone to completely understand the origin of English. Intended for use as a textbook in college-level English history classes, Williams style is one that is conservative yet informative when he touches on many of the major aspects of the evolution of English, backing each up with references that make for a quite impressive bibliography with over 200 references. By reinforcing the facts that he mentions, Williams's style is one that is hard to misinterpret yet very informational and easy to follow. Some of this may be due, in part, to the assistance that Williams received from various university professors while writing this piece. Although at times Williams repeats his theories and arguments, he warns of this in his preface so that the reader is aware that this repetition is only to emphasize major points. Overall, I feel that this book is one of the most indepth yet comprehensible books on the history of the English language.

Worth the Money
I just purchased the DVD and It was worth the money. The only thing was they didn't have any interviews with their mother.
The story of Richard In Shreveport Louisana being held down
and having something nailed in his leg sent Chills down my spine
I am originally from Louisiana myself. The footage with the girls on the carasel was too cute Venus helping Serena even then
to be safe was cute. Man they have a heavy workout routine to prepare for tournaments. Richard is really the man to manage to come from where he did to make it to the place he is now.
So all in all this was a pretty good story I loved the footage with each grand slam they won. I was really nice to see them at home just relaxing in between their workouts. Go out and bye the tape it's worth it once again.

If you thought they just build the Hubble Space Telescope and launched it, you're wrong. This book let you see what all such projects got to go through from the first bright idea and to the actual launch of an earth orbiting space vehicle. Sander Elvik, aerospace engineering student

Structural dynamics
For me, this is a good book for students who want to get master degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering and Aerospace Engineering. Students can understand of the dynamic response of structures and the analytical tools to determine such responses. Furthermore, it demonstrates modern theories, solution techniques and real-world problems.
Tales of the Northwest

Good historical reading
At the time this book was originally written (1830), the Northwest was the upper Missisippi Valley. I originally read this book because the author had lived among the Native American Indians and knew their culture. This was before the true nature of the European White man had become evident to the Indians and the Indians treated the White man as equals. But, in his introduction, even though he blasts other authors for their shallow representation of the Indian, he automatically assumes the Indians are not as good as White people and treats them as such in the book. Frequently though, the Indian looks more honorable than the White man in the ten stories. Despite the author's bias, a picture of the Indian's culture does come through. A good read for Indian and White culture at the time

An Incomplete Un-Collection
Although I have not read all of his short stories, I find Faulkner's tales to be poigniant reflections of American life, without being overtly obvious in their symbolism. The reader draws as much, or as little, as he wishes from Faulkner.
Being a work of 'uncollected' stories, it does not have the consistency as, say, These 13, or others arranged by Faulkner, but it does have its gems.
Consider it the "B-side" to a great album collection, some of which you may otherwise never have read, but worth it read, nonetheless.

Should've been called "How to Build 35 Great Clock Cabinets"
Maybe I'm crazy, but I've always considered a clock to be the inner workings - springs, pendulums, and such. This book doesn't tell you how to build those - it is merely a woodworking book that talks about the design of the cabinets that house clocks. Not for a horologist.
Entry level
I bought this book based on the title, which for me was a mistake. I was expecting drawing and guidance on making reproductions of time honored classics. While it is helpful it lacks the details about the originals that are needed to built future classics.
Former Student of author
I have this book and was looking for other books by Mr. Daniele since I had him as a teacher years ago at Ludlow. One of the best classes I've ever taken. He is a master craftsman with wood and metal, and certainly respected and admired the colonial period. He conveyed this respect to his classes, and through his books, I am able to convey it to my sons. The drawings and instructions are clear and easily used by all levels of woodworker. Lots of photos of finished peices. Ideal for the home hobbiest.

Ok introductory book but look elsewhere for in depth info.
As an introductory book its fine but as a 'Most Complete' you want it to expand beyond basic examples into e.g. interaction between the cartridge types, practical implementation advice etc.
I'd have used the money back guarantee if there was one as I expected a bit more from it.
Buy Oracle Web Application Server Handbook instead
Does a reasonable job of covering Oracle Web Application Server 3.0, but the Oracle Press book is better.
Good, but certainly not "The Most Complete Reference"
This book does a good job of providing an overview of the architecture surrounding OAS 3.0, but certainly does not hold to its claim as "The Most Complete Reference." Its biggest shortfall is its lack of detail concerning Inter-Cartridge Exchange (ICX). It mentions this topic at least a few times, and explains the premise behind ICX, but doesn't provide any examples of how ICX is accomplished from a PL/SQL cartridge to a C cartridge, for example. A good book for people who are just learning about OAS and want an introduction and then some.

In 4: A young girl finds herself gaining the skills of her friends as they are offed by Freddy.
In 5: The main from the fourth finds herself caught in dreams as she is awake. She discovers that Freddy's attempt to take over her unborn child is the cause of this.
Both novels were quick, simple, and surprisingly suspenseful reads. The main character was sypathetic as she discovered that her friends are dying because of her ability to join others in dreams. So, every time she sleeps, Freddy pulls one of her friends into the dream with her and forces her to watch as they die. Freddy fans will find this an enjoyable read, as will others. The writting is obviously intended for a teenage audience. This is surprising because of the inclusion of swearing in the novel. Heck, the first paragraph of part 5 details a sex scene between two teenagers. This is not too bad, though, so I will still recomend this read to anyone who can find the book.
