Original Studio Dolls by Sasha Morgenthaler
This magnificent oversized book contains the story of Sasha Morgenthaler's life along with many gorgeous color photos of studio dolls made by Morgenthaler herself in her studio. The dolls are shown with the original costumes made by Morgenthaler from fabrics she recovered from items no longer used. This book is an art book as the dolls shown are pieces of art. One never tires of reading it and dwelling on one after another example of the fine work of this doll artist.

Sasha Dolls Come To Life
This is a beautiful coffee table type book on the Sasha dolls. The pictures of the dolls and their outfits are absolutely stunning. If you are a collector of dolls and especially of the Sasha dolls, you have to own this book! Not only does this over-sized book have full sized color photos of all of the Sasha dolls since the beginning, it also tells in detail the life story of Sasha Morgenthaler and her dream for the Sasha dolls.

Brilliant Study of Germany's Greatest Poet, Stefan George
I wish to stress with some urgency that in my view this recently issued monograph on Germany's greatest poet, Stefan George, who was likewise one of modern Europe's most enigmatic and disturbing political presences, constitutes an achievement of incomparable significance in the historiography of cultural modernism. Experto crede: I have been occupied in studying these individuals for thirty years or more, and I can assure students that Robert Edward Norton has shed more light than admirers of Stefan George would have thought possible upon a dazzlingly talented, albeit indubitably eccentric, literary cenacle at whose center stood the masterful and charismatic visionary who was its spiritus rector.

Although George began his literary career as something of a minor Teutonic satellite on the far fringes of the French Symbolist movement (we learn, for instance, that the poet became quite close, both personally and artistically, to several of the Symbolist School's leading lights, viz., Paul Verlaine and Stephane Mallarme to mention just two of the more prominent figures) the predominant emphasis in Robert E. Norton's monograph rests upon the author's entertaining presentation of a wide range of hitherto obscure details involving the poet's later career, when his personal pretensions began to outweigh his literary career--over which George assiduously endeavored to cast a shroud of mystery and ambiguity--as well as unlocking for us a treasure trove of hitherto obscure biographical facts and anecdotes about the disciples and associates who drifted into the orbit of George-Kreis at one time or another. These anecdotes cover the waterfront, from uproarious and barely believable brawls that erupt out of the blue between alpha-intellects who are not what one would describe as pugilists, to grotesque tales of oddballs and geniuses who prefer to gussy themselves up in amazing couture in order to be wearing chic and appropriate threads when sallying out to attend the legendary and elaborate masqued balls that were almost a matter of routine in Schwabing-Muenchen. That custom, we learn, dictates that these people are more often than not attired in Roman-styled togas or, when feeling somewhat more daring, decked out in some gaudy purple-dyed gown that has been designed to garb a middle-aged intellectual who is impersonating the Magna Mater!

We learn also that these bright young things also hold somewhat outre "language orgies" in the course of which one of the oddest of the odd, viz., Alfred Schuler, launches himself into a catatonic state and then proceeds to time-travel back to ancient Rome (to visit his idol, of course, the Roman Emperor Nero!).

On the darker side of these affairs, the narrative presents more ominous anticipations and adumbrations of ominous types of cultic behaviors and ritual observances many of which would one day come to exert a profound and troubling influence on a less purely literary gathering of activists, viz., Hitler's National Socialists, whose adherents were to inherit so many elements of George's uniquely--even oppresively--authoritarian leadership style, along with the [Schuler-inspired]adoption during the fin de siecle period of the swastika as a sort of occult sigil of mystical might, one that came to adorn the title page of the Circle's official literary journal, the Blaetter fuer die Kunst.

We're also given numerous details about the poet's itinerary as he wandered from one associate's flat to another's (he was definitely what one might call a "professional house-guest"), along with fresh discoveries about the incredible group of renowned thinkers and creative writers (among whom the most talented were surely philosopher Ludwig Klages, archaeologist Alfred Schuler, poet Hugo von Hoffmansthal, and Shakespearean scholar Friedrich Gundolf), all of whom became adherents to the famous "Circles" that were so idiosyncratic a feature of cultural life in Schwabing-Munich at the dawn of the 20th century.

In closing, I repeat that I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in German culture, in the nascent proto-National Socialist scene in early 20th century Bavaria, or simply in the spectacle of some of the weirdest intellectuals ever to have come down the pike.

Essential!
Robert Norton's landmark biography on Stefan George and his circle truly is an exceptional book in every respect. Expansive in its inclusion of meticulous detail, this work stands as the definitive biography on George in any language to date.

A good source of information
The book is a good source of information on stable distributions (univariate and multivariate) and on their applications in different finance areas, including modeling of financial returns, portfolio analysis, option pricing, and risk management. The book might be helpful not only to finance researchers and practitioners but also to others who encounter heavy-tailed and/or skewed processes, for example, econometricians and actuaries.

Foreword, by Eduardo S. Schwartz,California Chair in Real Estate and Professor of Finance Anderson School of Management
The adoption of stable modeling in finance and econometrics is undoubtedly one of the most interesting and promising ideas which has arisen in these fields. It is now widely accepted that classical models for the description of the dynamics of financial and economic variables suffer from major structural weaknesses, as they fail to explain important features of the empirical data. Therefore, the search for new more powerful models is a fundamental and fascinating topic of research. In this book, Rachev and Mittnik, two of the most prominent experts in so-called Stable Finance, present a wealth of convincing arguments to support the claim that stable models offer the right approach to the subject. Their monograph, which collects a large part of the authors' work in stable financial modeling, brings together innovative insights as well as new elegant explanations of financial and economic phenomena. Life Changing Information
I read this book twice. The information in this book changed my life. I read it quite a few years ago before the Internet even existed in its present form.

It's not like other UFO related books that talk about things like alien abductions which are performed by the evil aliens. In fact the Iargans indicate that these evil aliens' flying saucers sometimes crash such as the Roswell crash and the alien autopsy video.

This book talks about things like Jesus Christ, the bible, the anti-Christ, injustice on our planet, the buildup of nuclear arsenals, etc., and how these same events and patterns of behavior occur on many other planets.

The Iargans talk about their planet also. They are much more socialistic and advanced than earth but they do have to deal with many of the same issues and problems.

The Iargans mention Edgar Cayce and Atlantis.

I searched through quite a few UFO books and other far out info. This book is by far the most valuable UFO related book I've ever read.

The Iargans indicate that some changes are going to occur on our planet as they do on many other planets. The time for these changes are probably approaching soon although I don't know what form these events will take.

They said 'Satan is going to collect all of the selfishness he's given out'.

Yes, I suspect Satan is going to be taking care of some business soon.

Very abstract..wonderful
A wonderfully abstract, deeply strange and startling UFO contact book. The 2nd half, not easy reading, is the startling and suprising part. I've never read anything like it !...and I have a huge UFO book collection, from the "flakey", to the scientifically statistical !

A very simple translation
Ms. Gajjar gives a very simple translation of what is arguably the most complex of all the well-known scriptures of the world. Although much of the metaphysical, philosophical and yogic content of the original Gita is missing the essential message is still preserved and maybe even brought out with greater clarity in this little book. An ideal translation for absolute beginners and children. But my advice is: don't stop here. Use this book as a springboard for yourself and your children to leap into the spiritual depths of this ancient scripture

The Search for Truth; a translation of The Gita
Irina Gajjar is clearly the work she has so elequently and completely translated. The awesome task and responsibility in translating The Bhagavad Gita is met with grace and intellectual competence. This is a 21st Century poetic and gender pure work. The words are simply beautiful.

The Gita tells the story of Humankind's search for Truth. The underlying theme in The Gita is that who ever seeks Him thru listening or reading His words, will know Him.

The accompanying art work is delicate and appropriate to accompanying a work of Scripture. The "simplicity" of this translation is it's strength.

24 horas y toda una vida para olvidar
24 HORAS EN LA VIDA DE UNA MUJER. Stefan Zweig.

Raised my score three points
I used the second edition of this course and it was terrific. The book is loaded with practice tests. Also there are many diagnostic tests which help who pinpoint exactly which points you are weakest on. For instance whether you should study algebra or geometry. Its also contains many helpful test taking tips but most importantly it will RAISE YOUR SCORE!

GREAT!
Great book, with large 11 x 11 cover reproductions. Too bad they aren't actual 12 x 12 size, but other than that, this is one's perfect 10. The best album art collection I've seen, without a doubt.
