Almost useless
This is useless as a field guide. Too big to be carried comfortably during a field walk. To bunch all photos at the end and to have just scores of descriptions in the front, with area ranges is not helpful for a quick guide in the field. Look elsewhere for better materials.

Extremely helpful for beginners
Great for easy identification of birds. Contains some beautiful pictures and helpful information on habitats. Paperback edition is convenient for birding walks and drives. Really fueled my interest in birdwatching.

A Breed Apart a Tribute to The Hunting Dogs That Own Our Sou
I was inspired by the compilation of bird dog stories found within this book. If you enjoy the excitement, fear, despair, and elation associated with the training, ownership and running of all breeds of bird dogs, you will enjoy this book. The authors help you relive the moments you have endured with your own dogs in addition to helping you imagine the hunts you have yet to experience. This is a definite must read for bird dog enthusiasts.

For all dog lovers
I borrowed this book from a friend and had a tough time putting it down. Great stories from writers who truly love their dogs. A few of the essays are sad, but all of them allow us to share a part of a fellow dog lovers life with his best friend. Definitely a must read.

Care of the Wild: First Aid for Wild Creatures

This is first aid?
I had thought this book was about first aid for wild animals, but as it turns out it's more like a manual for killing them. It's full of ways to kill but next nothing on healing wild creatures. This is the most disappointing book I've ever seen. I'd recommend that anyone interested in truly helping animals avoid this book...

Great Book!
This book is FILLED with useful advice on how to care for wild creatures. It takes a no nonsense approach to capturing, handling, feeding and caring for orphaned or injured wild animals. Perhaps the previous reviewer couldn't handle the candor with which the authors deal with the reality that some animals in some circumstances can't be helped, but if you can and are interested in effectively helping animals that are in trouble, this book's for you.

All in all a worthy field guide.
I've owned this field guide for quite some time. The pictures and text are all good. I believe it would have been a better book had it had actual maps of of the birds distribution though. Describing where a particular bird is located geographically just in words without a map is not what I like. Other than that, this is more than an adequate guide for any person who enjoys birding.

I know Big Bird is Yellow
Thankfully my son really loves this book. I was hoping for a story here, but there isn't one. The pictures are great. It has Big Bird, Elmo, Ernie, Oscar, Prarie Dawn and Grover. I wouldn't bother buying it for a three year old, but a younger child that is just learning colors will probably like it.

Not what I thought but good basic book
I read a review of the book in a industry magazine and it described it as useful for a professional financial advisor, as the title also implies. It turned out to be a pretty basic educational book with general but basic financial information. A good book for a beginner or someone who is just beginning to break into the financial services industry, but not necessarily for a seasoned professional.

This is a great book for any information on dolphins
If you really enjoy dolphins, you should check this book out. One thing is I like to put my name in the book. It does not give information about the dolphins names though. Read this book and go to the lake.
