outstanding
since I know the author I can really relate to the subject. I would love to hear from her

The best book written of the subject of grief and loss.
Dr. Buckinghams book is certainly the best book written on the subject of loss and grief to date.

This book is focused on the young reader, it is a perfect book for an adolescent to read on such issues as loss of a parent, loss of a pet, divorce, or the grief form a romantic breadk-up.

A must read for all teenagers.

A Compelling Argument
Young has managed to combine many factors in this work. He cogently explains how costal planters could perceive themselves as paternalistic masters protecting their slaves while at the same time literally driving those slaves to death in the name of profit. Even more cleverly, he traces the spread of this paternalistic, anti-capitalist rhetoric of the planters through their growing network of commercial capitalism. A revealing read.

Brilliant, insightful, and thought-provoking. A great read.
Mr. Young has outdone himself. His book not only offers well-argued insights on the subject matter, but his prose is sharp, funny and beautifully crafted. I recommend this book not only for historians, but for anyone looking to take an adventurous ride through our nation's earliest years. Mr. Young is clearly a young historian on the rise. I eagerly await his next work.

Ernst & Young's Personal Financial Planning Guide - 3rd Edit
As a tax professional and tax educator, I recognized many years ago that tax & financial illiteracy is a major problem amongst taxpayers. For example, consider: 1. how many wage-earners do not even understand all the deductions posted on their pay statements -- or that net pay is not the same as taxable income; or 2. how many people do not understand that the basic tax equation is "tax liability = tax base x tax rate" -- and that tax rate alone is not enough information to calculate one's tax liability; or 3. how many people think capital gains taxes paid are a "bad thing" -- when in fact, they are frequently a "subsidy" provided to wealthier taxpayers at the expense of wage-earners; or 4. how many people are eligible for some form of deferred compensation [401(k)plan, 403(b) plan etc] but they either do not participate or do not participate fully; etc, etc, etc.

In an effort to promote "Basic Tax Literacy," I highly recommend the EY-PFP Guide as a highly accessible & understandable guide for teens and above. This book makes a wonderful gift for all life events -- coming of age ceremonies, graduations, marriage, birth of child, divorce, mid-life crisis, pre-retirement, retirement. It could even serve as a textbook for certain courses and seminars.

E&Y Personal Financial Planning Guide(3rd ed.)- a good tool
This 3rd edition is a useful tool for people who are either starting to understand personal financial planning or those who have years of practical experience but want the latest information available. Complex concepts are explained clearly and concisely. There are no major gaps in the information provided. The book is well organized. Part II which uses a life-event approach to financial planning will be most helpful for people beginning to understand personal financial planning or facing a major life-event.

I enjoyed reading the book and found it filled with exactly the information I was seeking to improve my own personal financial planning. The format was very understandable and will allow me to continue using the book as a reference.

An Action Packed Plot Makes For Great Reading
The incredible writer Robert Elmer has really outdone himself on this one. The roller coaster of ups and downs provides the reader with a set of emotions different from any other book. Just when you think the plot has settled back down, it throws you right back into suspense. For example, right after they receive the phone call it seems like they're not going to the island. Then in the next chapter the reader is surprised to find them going to Bornholm. The climax and ending are so good it's very hard to put the book down.
The details of the book are also superb. When they have the problem on the way back to Bornholm it's almost as if you're there. I recommend this book as well as the whole Young Underground Series to readers who love conflict and adventure.

Fantastic Book!
I have read this series three times because the books are sogreat. "Follow the Star" is a must-read book. You reallyget into the characters; Peter and Elise, who are Danish, in the middle of World War II. These are enjoyable books that everyone should read; young and old. -WeirdAlFan

Nice and simple
I bought this for my 3 year old not really knowing what to expect. When it arrived my daughter wanted to open it immediately and read it. She loved the beautiful pictures. I loved the simple words. A great introduction to Jewish traditions, thoughts and prayer that you can build on at home.

Wonderful for young children
This book is one of the best I've ordered so far. The writing is in large bold print and there are only a few sentances per page, so it holds a toddler's attention. There is a great message and the illustrations are adorable. Great children's book!

The Ghost Memoirs of Robert Falcon Scott

excellent for older elem. students
Older children will enjoy reading the story because of the format Mr. Derby used. It'll make history come alive for them and educate them at the same time.

History on line.
I found this book to be a fastinating fictional story of Robert Falcon Scott, written in today's language that children understand - the internet.

I have always believed that Mr. Scott deserved a more prominent place in history.

This Yellow Pages is a great resource for online shopping! If you are looking for great Internet guides for Kids & Family, High School, and College students, check out the You Are Here Internet series!

Takes the work out of shopping
I loved the convenience of shopping on the Internet but I had trouble finding the sites that sell what I want. Not any more! This book lists over one thousand sites that sell everything you can imagine. Where else could you find sites that sell spy and security goodies, decorator umbrellas and ladies lingerie all in the same book? You can even go to to the author's Internet site to find reviews of new shopping sites and, more importantly, the sites that have gone belly-up since the book was published.

A great book! Peter and Elise help spread underground newspapers around their city. A great book for WWII nuts, adventure lovers and everyone else!

A reader
After reading the first two books in this series, A Way Through the Sea ,and Beyond the River, I was very excited about reading this book. Out of the ones that I have already read this was the most exciting, fantastic, yet real book that I have read so far. Trust me once you pick it up it's VERY hard to put it down, you'll LOVE this book.

Very Intriging
I found this book to have everything in it that a good book should have. It is sad, humorous, exciting, and adventurous all in one. It kept me wanting to get back to it, to see what was going to happen next. I liked it because it deals with a simple, common family, ( like you or I would be ), that finds out they aren't so common after all, especially Jeffery. I think it was interesting following Jeffery growing up, and all the situations he finds himself in.

Fun to read!
To put it plainly, I really enjoyed Jeffrey. Heart-warming, yet plenty of action. Jeffrey is a fun book to curl up on the couch with! How he overcame his deformity and used that for a tool for good, was great! The Supreme One and General Lathaan were as mean and despicable as anyone could get!

How to be your best in business and life!
I really enjoyed this book! Written in the form of letters of advice to his son, a struggling college freshman, the 9 lessons that Quinn outlines in this book apply to anyone going through a transition at any age in any situation. Choose to make a difference, look internally, connect with others...Anyone who is struggling with transition at any age--in business or in life--will appreciate the lessons outlined in the book.

Inspiring!
I found Letters to Garrett to be a truly wonderful book and recommend it highly. When I started, I thought I wouldn't be able to identify with Garrett that much. I'm older than he is and know pretty much where I'm going in life. I was surprised then about how often I saw myself in Garrett. It pointed out that we face transitions much more often in our lives than we might think. It's not just the adolescence into adulthood, becoming a parent, changing jobs, mid-life crisis etc. Recognizing transitions when we're faced with them (rather than in retrospect) helps us navigate times of change and make better decisions.
