Charlie Jones shows he is a master of cutting to the chase and teaching us the lessons of History that are found in the individuals that make it. Read it and see why Charlie is one of my heroes. Now, do yourself a favor and order it. While you are at it, buy a copy of "Life is Tremendous." It Is and the book is too.

Mutiny on the bounty is a thrilling tale full of adventure. The trilogy tells the complete story from when the Bounty left its port, to the seperate pathways of the crew and captain following the mutiny. Describing this book as a historical novel makes it sound dry and boring, but Charles Hall and James Nordhoff do a superb job as authors so that the pace of the novel glides along quickly from one adventure to the next without getting dry. Definately the best trilogy I have ever read, it is amazing to think that it is based on reality. If you like adventure this book is worth reading - and better than many modern fiction novels that are out there. Highly Recommended!!

This book is about Charles Lindbergh, the first person to cross the Atlantic Ocean with his Spirit of St. Louis. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more about Charles Lindbergh.

Charles James filled his designs with beauty and technical brilliance. He was an architect of fabric. His designs were as beautiful on the inside as they were on the outside. This book is a glimpse into his world of manipulating shape and form. My only regret is that is not longer. Enjoy!

After finishing this book, it is hard to imagine there can be anything left to say about Charles James Fox. The familiar picture emerges of a politician who didn't have the skills or temperament of Pitt the Younger and hence was in opposition for most of his career. Yet Mitchell also makes two very interesting observations. First, Fox often preferred his private social life to politics. Did he, in fact, spend more time at the race track and at his London club than at the House of Commons? Secondly, Fox was less of a radical than most of his contemporaries thought. He was not, for instance, especially keen on far-reaching parliamentary reform. A big thumbs-up for this biography, not least for quoting verbatim from the strong language of certain original sources!

"China and Charles Darwin" is an impressive historical monograph, well argued thoughout by the author. Most impressive is the clarity of discription of the ideological dialogue between East and West. Though nearly 500 pages of thickly constructed analysis, the book is very readable thanks in part to a peppering of humor throughout by Pusey.

Akenson and Wolfe have provided a format for scholars, students and others to share their love and insight into the broad and diverse range that is country music yesterday and today. The papers presented in the book are well researhed, informative and extremely readable...which makes the book all the more enjoyable! I give this book a 5 star rating and look forward to the next issue.

As a long time visiter to the Owens Valley I found this book to be excellent. Its great for the first time traveler or the person who has been to the valley many times. Its section on side roads is good for those passing through the area and wanting to explore a bit. The history and geology areas are current and answer those questions that arise when encountering the vast numbers of different geological features. While no one guide does it all this book comes close. A great book for those who want a general guide to the valley, its history,geology,flora and fauna.

I found this text to be very useful to me and prefer it among other steel texts. Concentration on bridges makes this book even more valuable. The text in, many sections, deals with some more advanced theories about steel which you may not find in many texts.
