Morgan & Me
Morgan and Me had a great impact on me as a child. I would suggest that anyone pass this book along to their child. It was responsible for igniting my love for horses and consequently for the name of my youngest child! :) Enjoy!

Wonderful book
I loved this book as a child for the story as well as the beautiful illustrations. I treated the book well and some years later now share it with my daughter who loves it as much as I did.

Wonderful Story About A Princess & Unicorn
"Morgan and Me" is the story of a young princess who lives in the Land of Later. She's a dreamer, but mostly she's a procrastinator, always putting off her duties until later.

One day she gets lost in the woods and finds a unicorn with his horn stuck in a tree branch. Morgan, the unicorn, asks if she'll help him break free. The princess, however, would rather go play than help Morgan this minute. But she promises to return later.

Once she grows bored of playing, the princess returns and cuts the branch away for Morgan. Together they roam the meadow, Morgan having since forgiven the princess for her belated rescue. However, the princess doesn't watch her step while they are playing and falls into a pond. From the safety of a lily pad, she calls for Morgan to help her. Morgan replies he will--eventually.

The princess realizes her mistake earlier and heartfully apologizes to Morgan. Convinced, Morgan rescues the princess from the pond. And ever since, they've been best friends.

I would recommend this book to young children, but I'm sure most adults will enjoy it just as much. Robin James is the talented illustrator of "Morgan and Me" and many other Stephen Cosgrove books. I highly recommend you read all of Cosgrove's books if you liked this one.

You're special because you're you.
Leo was a very normal little rabbit with a cotten tail and soft fur. The olny diffrence between him and the rest of his family is that his ears don't point straight up! To Leo's surprise, the rest of his family started laughfing at him when ever they saw him! Now Leo must find a way to make his ears stand stright up in the forest he calls home. On the way Leo learns an imporant lesson about being diffrent.

Leo the Lop
I cannot tell you how much I love this book. As a kid I remember reading it. When asked to do a review in my Children's Literature class this book instantly came to mind! This is a book that will speak to your children no matter who they are. Every child has something 'different' about them that makes them feel insecure. "Leo the Lop" is a great book to help your children feel positive about these 'differences'! I was so crushed when I found out my mom had given it to Goodwill that I ordered it here with the quickest delivery! This is a FANTASTIC book!

One of the best childrens books around
I remember a lot of books from my childhood, but this is one of my all time favorites. I've been looking all over for it since my mother accidently gave away my copy. Now I can share this story with my nephew!

Christian Fatherhood: The Eight Commitments of St. Joseph's Covenant Keepers

To Be Shared
Steve Wood's, "Christian Fatherhood" has had a continuing and growing influence on me. Having been married fourteen years, my wife and I have had our share of challenges. The wisdom and charity within this book has helped me be a more loving husband, a better father and has given me the confidence to teach my faith to my children.

Perfect for Fathers Everywhere
Steve Wood and James Burnham have hit the nail on the head. They have identified the critical areas where fathers become either successes or failures. If you're a young father and want to know how to be a great father - this is the book for you. If you're an old father - and want validation for what you did right and identification for where you went wrong - this is the book for you.

The critical areas they deal with involve devotion to God, to Church, and to family. They show how to love and be faithful to your wife. They show how to love your children, and it's spelled T-I-M-E. They show the necessity of rightly ordering family life so that it aims at more than this family's life.

Having observed both Mr. Wood and Mr. Burnham's families, I can say that they practice what they preach and their children (while giving the struggles to their parents that is ordinary) are happy, healthy, and holy. The happiness of their wives and the marvels that are their childrens are astoundingly powerful testimonies of the truth they speak in this book.

Practical, spiritual help for fathers
FACT: Four out of ten American children will go to bed tonight in a home without their fathers (Blankenhorn, David, Fatherless America, 1995).

FACT: About 90 percent of single-parent homes are without a father. (U.S. Bureau of the Census, "Poverty in the U.S.: 1992")

FACT: Seventy percent of long-term prison inmates come from homes where the father wasn't present. ("Family Values Gain Control," The Wall Street Journal, December 12, 1995, p. A6)

So go the statistics...Drawing from the Bible and works such as Pope Pius XI's, Christian Marriage (Casti Connubii), Pope Paul VI's, Of Human Life (Humanae Vitae), and John Paul II's, The Role of the Christian Family in the Modern World (Familiaris Consortio) and Letter to Families, former Protestant minister turned Catholic, Steve Wood, offers 8 practical commitments that fathers can make to ensure they will leave a positive, lasting mark on their children and their children's children.

Wood takes the "Eight Commitments of the St. Joseph Covenant Keepers" and goes into much greater depth on them than he has in his audiotapes or brochures. Those commitments include: - Affirming Christ's Lordship Over Our Families - Following St. Joseph, the Loving Leader and Head of the Holy Family - Loving Our Wives All Our Lives - Turning Our Heart Toward Our Children - Educating Our Children in the Discipline and Instruction of the Lord - Protecting Our Families - Providing for Our Families - Building Our Marriages and Families on the "Rock"

Wood effectively uses Scripture, secular statistics, and papal encyclicals to provide practical things that fathers can do to build solid marriages and secure families. The book shows how desperately fathers are needed in a world which seems to say that they are not.

Any father wondering how he can raise a faithful family needs to own a copy of this book.

So much to love!
If you revel in pagan dementia, and are in for a solid laugh, James Stephens's Crock of Gold will have you rolling. The words are poetry. The thoughts are strangely intellectual. The characters are truly from another dimension. A masterpiece like no other. Long live the Wise Salmon of Glyn Cagny!

The Philosopher's Delightful Life-Companion
Pure free-poetry as only Stephens can do it, these pages have informed and nourished me--along with friends and lovers--for nearly fifty years: From the time when I first happily seduced my young wife by reading Chapter VI to her...to my having now become one of the Two Philosophers who continue its argument. I was overjoyed to find this edition back in print again, with its wood-block prints and original type plates still intact. Don't miss this one.

Irish traditional folktales with wit, humor and light.
The book is appealing on many levels. It has fantasy, mystery, myth and abundant humor. Most of the tales are mythical in nature. Some are fabricated tall tales. The writing is excellent, with rich detail expressed in terse language. A delight from cover to cover.

Brilliant!
A delightful review of the world of Doctor Who as it stood in the 1970's. It includes many rare pictures from the series as well as publicity shots and behind-the-scenes photos. From Adams, Douglas to Zygons (Terror of), this is a wonderfully produced Master-piece! A truly great book for all Doctor Who fans!

the sixties is a true masterpiece
I've just read this wonderful book and it is WELL worthe reading so dont think twice about buying this book

If you love Who -- then get this book
This is my favorite non-fiction Doctor Who book of all time. The book is loaded with some never before seen footage and insightful data. The layout is wonderful and captures the decade that brought us Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker. My favorite chapter of the book features merchandise from the 70's -- so far the only Who book that addresses this aspect of the show.

One of the best
This is one of the best books I have ever seen for young children who have either been abused or could be. It alerts young children of the dangers of "secrets" that are hallmarks of child abuse either about to happen or having already occurred. It also provides encouragement to those children who have already been abused to start talking about the abuse with an adult who can do something to help them. I have even see this story provide assistance for adults who have abuse issues to deal with.

I enjoy this stories at the age of 60 plus almost as much as my grandchildren have over the years. Each one of the Serendipity Series has beautiful and imaginative illustrations to go along with tales that always have an important lesson to teach.

A must-read title for all kids
Squeekers is an excellent way to start a conversation withchildren about abuse and saying no to peer pressure. It makes iteasier for parents to talk to their kids about a very tough topic.

A Masterpiece for Children
A survivor of abuse myself I wanted a way to teach my children that I want them to learn to say "no" if they have to. I also wanted to teach them we would support them no matter what. This book is such a beautiful way to do that. The art and story are written for just them. All of the Serendipity Books deal with issues that face children in a way that they can feel safe and stronger for reading them. I strongly urge anyone interested in buying these books to do so. You will not be dissapointed.

Good moral lesson; cute art.
Creole, the Big Scary Swamp Critter, is shunned by all of the other marsh denizens. Only a fellow misfit--a stuttering alligator who's often on the business end of taunts--will even give her the time of day. How can they win the acceptance of their neighbors?

This book is a good and uplifting read for any kid who's ever felt like a freak. And Robin James's slightly saccharine but highly intricate art is another plus.

Read Aloud for Optimal Pleasure
"On a foggy, foggy morning, in the land of the swamp, from a battered speckled egg, Creole was born." Serendipity books are made to share. The words are on the left page, pictures on the right. You can fold the book back (I know- People for the Ethical Treatment of Books will object.) and your audience can view the picture as you read. Of course, you will prefer some over others but they're all worth buying! Each has a moral at the end. Creole meets up with a stuttering baby alligator and makes a friend.

At 24 this is still my favorite book!
I first read this book as a child, and I still love to read it now. I love the morals and this one truely is touching. I feel that ever child that is dealing with being different should read this book and learn the individual differences about us are what makes us special. A Wonderful story!

Morgan and Yew
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (1999)
Authors: Stephen Cosgrove and Robin James
Amazon base price: $12.70
Average review score:

A lesson for young children about envy.
A dumpy little sheep named Yew wishes he could have a unicorn's horn like his best friend Morgan so that he can feel special instead of ordinary. When the Morning Star grants Yew's wish, he wears the horn for one day, but at the cost of his friend Morgan: the unicorn is gone! After crying of guilt and loneliness all night long, Yew pleads with the Morning Star to restore things to normal. After Morgan comes back to him and the horn is returned to the unicorn, the two friends play together forever and Yew never again envies his best friend.

Even very young children "get" the message in this book. It's been around for years--I even used it while doing my student-teaching more than 15 years ago. With bright, colorful illustrations and sweet characters, this book is a perennial favorite for primary school students.

Best Book Ever!!
I bought this book when I was in 3rd grade, it made me cry then and it makes me cry now! This book is great for kids as well as grown ups. The lesson in this book teaches about having material things at the expense of those we love. Good thing Yew learns the lesson and is able to fix it! In this day in age I am glad they are bringinning these books back. Not only will your child be reading, but learning a very important lesson. Not many books today do that! If you decide to purchase this book you won't regret it and there is a whole series of them, but this one is my favorite!

Still makes me cry
This was the Serendipity book I saved for special, cathartic occasions in my childhood when I had to have a good tearing-up. Possibly the most excellent and moving of the series, with the same beautiful illustrations.

The Jedi's Handbook
The Power of the Jedi Sourcebook is a full-color, hardcover resource for all things pertaining to the Jedi Order. Continuing from the standard set by the Dark Side Sourcebook, the "PotJ" book combines information and utility with a tasteful arrangement of interior artwork and photos.

Most players will probably be most interested in the selection of new Jedi Prestige Classes, Light Side Force skills, feats, and equipment that the book offers. But there are also sections discussing Jedi history, Jedi traditions, new equipment, and new force-sensitive creatures. There are entries on important characters, important locations, and even advice on how to run a Jedi campaign. And of course, no book on the Jedi would be complete without a discussion of Force Spirits. This is also a section discussing new races, but most of these are also in the newer Ultimate Alien Anthology.

This book has been one of the important resources in my Star Wars campaign. I've really enjoyed using the Prestige Classes. From the Jedi Healer to the powerful Jedi Weapon Master, players now have a much wider range of advancement options open to their characters. In addition many of the force-sensitive characters, creatures, and locations have already popped up in my storyline. I also found the notes on running a Jedi campaign to be very useful, for not only can they guide a GM but they can also aid players on how a Jedi should conduct himself.

However, I do have a few minor complaints. A few of the Light Side force skills, particularly Force Light and Sever Force, seem to be quite powerful. Perhaps this is because they were based on the abilities of comic-book characters, but in any case, it was a wise move that such skills may only be acquired with GM approval. I would have also preferred to see a much more in-depth history section, particularly as it pertains to the Tales of the Jedi storyline. Finally, I felt that the maps for some of the important locations were fairly inadequate.

However, as I noted earlier, these were minor complaints.

Overall, I found this to be an outstanding addition to my Star Wars campaign. I use it often, and it is likely that I will continue to do so for some time to come. Whether you're the GM of a campaign with Jedi in it, or whether you're a player wanting to explore the possibilities of a Jedi character, I'd recommend this book as a solid investment.

Great book for SW RPG
If you have the Core Rulebook, this supplement is a must. It contains lots of info on the jedi and lots of great stuff about the types of jedi you can play with prestige classes and all. Being a Jedi is what Star Wars is made of, so this book is a must if you want your adventure of RPG to be complete.

Amazing!
This is a must have for all Star Wars roleplayers. It has a huge amount of new stuff for playing as a jedi. An EXTREMELY helpful addition.
