Wonderful Testimony- Everyone Should Own a Copy of This Book
I loved this book! It is an excellent portrayal of God's love. We are all sinners- from liars to thieves to adulterers to, yes, even murderers- and Jesus died on the cross for everyone of us. This book is Bob Erler's testimony to that. It describes- in detail- the transformation Erler went through in his life after accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. The details are wonderful! Erler knows how to keep his audience entertained, but more importantly, he is telling the truth about what Jesus has done for him. Since he turned his life over to Jesus Christ, that has been his main goal- to let others know what Jesus did for each and every person. God only asks that you believe in Him and that His Son Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again to live forever in paradise. I highly recommend this book to Christians and nonbelievers alike!

A Quick Read, A Life Change
"Beneath the Surface" really opens the eyes and ears of the reader to the dangers and pitfalls of today's world. Bob Reccord uses personal stories of those he knows and counsels to give the reader examples of just how EASY it really is to FALL into sexual am a single young adult and was given this book to read by my boss. I read it in one night and it really gave me as a single adult a lot to think about and begin to try and notice. It also gave me new insight on how to guard my heart before a serious relatioship and eventually marriage. I am very thankful for Reccord's no-hold's-barred approach to the subject. A must read!

More than one note Samba.
I am not a drumset player (Yet !) but I'm interested in the rhythms of the world and Brazilian Rhythms are Fantastic, this book is quite good, it has sections on Samba, Bossa Nova, Baiao, Maracatu, Marca and Frevo, and patterns in odd meters.

The book starts with a short introduction on Brazilian music and then explaines the traditional Rhythms and the traditional Brazilian instruments and then demonstrates how to apply those rhythms to the drumset, the book comes with two C.D's which demonstrated most of the musical samples in the book.

Great book for drumset players and ALSO for those who want to understand Brazilian Rhythms.

Also recomended are Airto Moreiras great Videos, C,D's and books, and see also Brazilian Percussion Manual by Daniel Sabanovich and Brazilan Music Workshop by Antonio Adolfo.

For other types of rhythms check out these authors, Alan Dworsky, Reinhart Flatichler, Sule Greg Vilson, Yaya Diallo, Peter Magadini, Robert Starer and Gary Hess.

The words of legend.
This book is a collection of the JKD phylosophy in the words of legend himself. Reading this book is one of the best way to experience Bruce Lee's openmindedness and wisdom. Each single quotes of Bruce Lee sounds stanning and deeply impressive because of his phylosophy education background. This is not only a great JKD text but also a great phylosophy book.

A heavily dog-eared and marked up book on my shelf.
My thanks to Gordon Padwick. Integrated Office Application lifted the veil from my eyes and I finally understood how to control one MS Office application from another. It has great, practical examples of how to control Excel from Access, Access from Excel, Excel from Word, etc. Learning about CopyFromRecordset (an Excel Range method) was enough to justify purchase of this book! I grok it now.

precious memories
Heart-warming memoir by an old-style Texas Fiddler and Cowboy. The reader can count on some candid remembrances of life on the road with Bob Wills. Excellent book; but if you're Old School Texas, as this South Texan reviewer is, be prepared to sigh every time you turn a page. They just don't make'em like Mr.McWhorter anymore, and we are all the poorer for it...

The Eagles of Duxford
The 78th Fighter Group is owed a debt of gratitude by all who treasure freedom. The guys of the 78th cut a wide path thru the skies over France, Holland, and Germany to stem the tide of Facism in WWII. The book is one of only two that I would call "definitive" on the Americans and the missions they flew out of the famed Duxford Air Field in England. Duxford was home to the Americans who flew for the British before America entered the war. Lots of data, pictures, personal accounts. If you have even the faintest interest in what some of our boys were doing in WWII you will want to get this book. These guys put the daring in derring-do. If you have more than a faint interest in the material you should already have the book.

An Up-close Look at Life in the Pacific Theater During WWII
First let me say that recon pilots have to have more guts than any fighter pilot! The bad guys are trying just as hard to kill you, but since all you're armed with is a camera, about the only thing you can do is take their picture and try to outfly 'em.

My dad was a P-38 pilot in the 8th Photo Squadron during WWII and I grew up hearing stories about his experiences. This excellent book takes the pages from squadron's daily journal and combines them with rare photographs supplied by the pilots themselves. It gives you a feel for the sometimes tedious, often terrifying conditions these men lived with day in and day out. They never knew if their next mission would be their last.

This squadron's efforts were vital to the success of the Pacific war, and their pride in what they were doing comes through in the pages of this book. Despite the sacrifices they had to make, these men knew they had an important job to do, and in the face of incredible hardships, they went out and did it.

I recommend this book to anyone interested in WWII, the Pacific theater, and in the courageousness of what has rightly been called "the greatest generation." Way to go, Pop!
