Good Book worthless CD
The author has done a fairly good job of writing a book for Window programmers to use and learn Kylix on Linux. But I bought the book to use the Open Edition, but the install directions are not current with the layout of the CD that ships with the book. Be prepared to do some work to get the install correct.

Better install directions and errata at the SAMS site would help tremendously.

A Fantastic Book
Forget the CD as I have never bothered to even use it. The book itself is a treasure chest of information. Well written, robust and easy to follow. Kylix Developers guide gives you the fundamentals as well as the advanced features you will require to become a well versed Kylix/Pascal programmer. A particular point which I enjoyed is how the authors teach you how to program outside of the components for X, which teaches you to actually program for X directly. Databases, Games you name it, it is in there.

Another book I would recommend is LEARN OBJECT PASCAL WITH DELPHI. Though it says delphi, the langauage of Pascal is thoroughly covered in this book and translates quite well to Kylix.

Great book for Aeronca fans... covers a lot of history
This rare book covers much of Aeronca's history through the photo collection of the Aeronca factory. Put together with love by two former Aeronca employees, now retired, this book captures the golden age of flying low-cost, fun aircraft. Many one of a kind Aeroncas are pictured. Get it before the second printing disappears and this book becomes a collectors item.

Some true brilliance in a few tales
This anthology of Delta Green short stories presents a good introduction to the conspiracy/horror concepts of the DG world. Some stories are better than others, and each tale has it's own merits, but the story by Arinn Dembo stands head and shoulders above the rest. The story, a DG-flavored explanation of the life and times of a rockstar who closely resembles Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain, is truly fantastic in my opinion. I'm probably a bigger fan of the story because of the unsolved mystery of Cobain's death, but it's well-written and sucks you in with a mixture of present-time and flashback sequences. I recommend the book as both an introduction to DG, and as a source of fresh new historical fiction authors.

Auto repair at its finest.
This manual far exceeds any chiltons manual I have ever purchased. The electrical diagrams were all there (broke down by year) with no questions left unanswered. The book entailed many helpful photographs not just sketched pictures. I did think they could have provided more color photos though. Overall I would reccomend this manual to any nissan maxima owner.

An eye-opening and soul searching experience
I enjoyed this book from cover to cover, and each topic in between. I read this book in just 2 days as it was hard to put down andI was eager to get to the next subject. I waspleased with the author's use scriptures as they pertained to the subject at hand, and condensing them to "layman's" terms and simple analogies. Not only a new way to think about or to view money, but a new understanding of myself, relationships with others and with God.

A nice addition to Space:1889 literature.

The third installment of TRMGS is a welcome addition to the canon of literature for the role-playing game Space:1889. Although some of the material is re-printed from the old GDW magazine Challenge, the bulk of this title is new, fresh information. The quality of this volume stands up well with the previous two volumes, and it is clear that the publisher (Heliograph, Inc.) is starting to better understand DTP layout and the limitations and/or strengths of their printer, Lightning Print, Inc.

The only quibble that keeps me from rating this volume with 5 stars, is the interior artwork. Bob Brown's drawings are a welcome addition but do not (in this reviewer's opinion) stand up well against the vintage victorian artwork (clipart) in this volume or against the art originally produced for Space: 1889 and associated articles in GDW's Challenge magazine.

That quibble coupled with an over-abundance of advertising for other Heliograph projects, serve as annoying distractions to an otherwise excellent volume. That all said, I am looking forward to volume #4.
