A Michigan Poet to share with friends
David James writes powerful poetry. Period. Thus far I've bought this book for two friends, and I will buy it for others. James writes with plain words that produce extraordinary results. He covers taboo topics like God, death, reasons to live -- but he does it in such a way that you don't think the subjects should be taboo. He sheds light where some have said darkness will always be. I am not doing this book justice. Just buy it.

Essential For The Brothers Karamazov
Notes are essential for this great russian novel. It will take anybody at least a few hundred pages to reslize who evybody is, with those wierd russian names, but the notes eliminate that. Also since this book is very long you might forget something from the begining or you just might stop reading it for a while, which makes these notes very helpful

A medical educator and physician reviews this book
There are many books on the market that try to give both the starting physician and the experienced physician guidance on "current therapy", but most of them, I think, spend way too much time on diagnosis and not nearly enough time on the details of treatment - which drugs to use first, second, third, and in what dosages, and the rationale for choosing certain drugs. This book, Drug Therapy: Decision Making Guide, however, is written on the principle that most diagnoses a physician makes are reasonably routine, so it saves your time by getting right to the point - how to treat, with plenty of detail. I especially appreciate the fact that the authors back up their preferences with CITATIONS from the current literature. This is a great book for medical students, interns and residents to learn from, giving them guidance solidly based in the literature for effectively using medicines. This edition, written in 1996, is starting to get a little old in some areas and it really is time for the authors to update it, but, even so, it's still a good guide and is still completely up-to-date in most of the areas that matter.

A superbly presented treatise
In The Eclectic Odyssey Of Atlee B. Ayres, Architect, Robert Coote (professor emeritus of architecture at the University of Texas, Austin) informatively surveys thirty years of the architectural career of Atlee Ayres, focusing on Ayres' residential architecture in the San Antonio suburbs of Monte Vista, Olmos Park, and Terrell-Hills. It is in these architectural designs that Ayres' eclecticism is most apparent. Coote studies twenty-five of Ayres' houses in detail including their plans, spaces, exteriors, materials, and structure. Additionally, Coote describes Ayres' architectural education, travels, and career highlights. Highly recommended for professional and academic architectural reference collections, The Eclectic Odyssey Of Atlee B. Ayres, Architect is a superbly presented treatise on the work and career of a most remarkable American architect.

Modernization of Oresteia
Mourning becomes electra is well known as a modernization of the Greek myth of the Oresteria. Perhaps the difference between Aeschylus and O'neill is to some degree a measure of the extent to which the weakening of the sanctions has weakend the emotions with they supported.

Wonderfully informative
I used this book a great deal when I was a practicum student with little knowledge about substance abuse. It provides an extensive glossary/dictionary of both medical and slang terms for thousands of entries. I strongly recommend this book for anyone who would like to develop thier understanding of substance abuse.

A Necessary and Important Book...
Mr. Enterline has written an important book, a book that looks at the maps themselves and the evidence therein. This is a refreshing change from the baseless conjectures, theories, and "trendy" interpretations that have sometimes siezed hold of the history of cartography. Enterline's interpretations will open up new debate on these early maps of the arctic regions, but it is this kind of debate that is sorely needed. Most important, however, is that Enterline has shown a true understanding of the context in which early maps were made, and how sources (earlier maps, explorers' reports, etc.) were integrated in a complex and agglutinative manner, a manner that we, as historians, must now "de-code". This book is a fine place to begin that process...

The framers of the Constitution in their own words
An essential book for every American both young or old, male or female, Democrat or Republican. A delightful discovery on the need of God and guns (or perhaps swords) in the United States and the intolerance of a government in charge of all but answerable to noone. An undeniably perfect fit for todays culture.
Discover your roots from the men that gave their lives for the signing of the Constitution; true heroes. Their resolve was unquestionable and the love for country without reproach.
They brought us so far. We've walked away. Read it and weep. BK
