Economic Democracy: The Political Struggle of the 21st Century

Co-operative Economic Theory
Dr J W Smith's magnum opus will one day be heralded as the seminal work debunking Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations and "unequal freetrade". Dr Smith painstakingly traces the history of Plunder by Raids to Plunder by Trade and suggests simple and subtle changes in the free trade theory to make it equitable and just, while retaining all the advantages of the competitive instinct. He tells the Developing world to stop competing agaisnt each other for Developed world markets and instead to co-operate with each other to exchange resources equitably to build the infrastructure we so woefully need. Dr Smith's documentation is copious, exhaustive and unrefutable.

It would be the greatest shame of our new Millennium if we do not act on his advice as a matter of urgency. Part of Dr Smith's thesis is that unless the Developed Countries join in the restructuring of the economic system of the planet, the Developing nations unilateral restructuring will cause unnecessary economic distress. One way or the other, the developing nations are not going to be patsies forever and there need not be the violent reactions that we are seeing.

Human beings naturally co-operate in their common interest and when one gets right down to it, if the majority of humans were not co-operating now, by subscribing, albeit unknowingly, to indoctrinated Social control belief systems, the fraud that is perpertrated against us would not be possible.

When I learnt the secret of poverty creation and maintenance I just started to cry at how simply avoidable it could all have been. This is a book we ignore at our peril.

Free World Leaders Secretly Imposing World Violence
"I feel that this scholarly work will be viewed in the future as a milestone of the new Millennium. It is a work that turns the corner from the mode of thinking of one era to the mode of thinking in the next." -- WM. H. Kotke, author of The Final Empire

"This book constitutes an incisive review and analysis of the post-war political economy. J.W. Smith carefully integrates geopolitical, strategic, institutional and human rights issues into the understanding of post-war economic change and transformation." -- Michel Chossudovsky, University of Ottawa, Professor.

Review(s):"With an unusual flair for historical prototypes, Smith strips the Washington Consensus to its underclothes and beyond. A dazzling performance." -- William Krehm Editor, Economic Reform.

Smith's exposure of how conscientious professors and reporters are the unwitting carriers of disinformation, and thus unwittingly misinform their students and audience, provides researchers with an invaluable tool for unearthing truth." -- Ralph McGehee, originator of the database, CIABASE, and author of Deadly Deceits: My 25 Years in the CIA.

"The Introduction through Chapter Three turns the world's power brokers' fundamental philosophy to dust and the rest of the book turns it into powder."-The Author.

She's Wonderful
Rev. Smith's book is nothing short of inspirational. It is truly a daily guide that provides a wonderful blueprint on how to strengthen and develop a personal relationship with God. By using true life examples of how people have overcome their individual hardships and difficulties and in the process discover their inner divinity, the book brings great clarity on how to incorporate these life lessons and how to use them to develop a personal and full relationship with God. It is a wonderful book and I have read and reread it several times, always discovering new messages and new insights along the way.

A Book To Bring Wholeness
This book is designed to bring into focus the reasons why we so often feel weighed down and defeated. Lent is not a frivolous time, but a time to enter into a process that will bring about real spiritual change, healing and wholeness. Through story, examples and scriptures, "From Calvary to Victory" really takes readers from a place of hurt and pain to a place of hope and healing.

Comprehensive, state-of-the-art, engaging and brimming with practical and user-friendly templates (the 60+ pages on DDI's website are a major plus), "Grow Your Own Leaders" is one of the best leadership development books I have come across yet. I will be referring to this book for many years to come. Thank you William Byham and company.

Hugs for the Hurting Screen Saver
I have the screen saver and it is beautiful. Each day there is a soothing background, with uplifting quotes. There is also a more extensive quote available. It starts my day off perfectly, and we really appreciate it.

Fast track to soothing the soul
This is a book that made me feel as if it was written especially for me. It inspires as it soothes the soul. Its light reading and yet powerful. It touched me as no other book ever has and will always be by my bedside for those times when I need that special Hug. What wonderful book for a person who is being challanged emotionally or physically. Everyone should experince at least one Hug! Its a keeper.

Life Sentence: Selected Poems
Published in Paperback by W.W. Norton & Company (1991)
Authors: Nina Cassian and William Jay Smith
Amazon base price: $8.95
Average review score:

marvelous
Nina Cassian's Selected Poems is a wonderful collection of her work, translated by some other great poets and translators (Richard Wilbur, Dana Gioia, William Jay Smith, and Carolyn Kizer). This collection isn't just about the art of poetry, it is about the art of translation. I wish there had been biographical notes on the translators, but other than that, it's a wonderful collection. I recommend it.

A voice for the future.
Nina Cassian's poetry is some of the most extraordinary to emerge from Eastern Europe in many years, and American readers can thank editor and translator William Jay for putting together this collection of samples of Cassian's best work, including some translations by the author herself. A resident of the United States since 1985, having been exiled from her own country, Nina Cassian is a poet who is both academic and accessible. Her fluid, easily grasped metaphors and poetic leaps have a charm which sets her apart from her more obscure, less emotional contemporaries.

My Girl (Motown Baby Love Board Books, 1)

Rock Star Babies!
These books are so cute. There are several of them in the series. They use the lyrics from popular Motown songs with pictures of various happy babies.

The books are heavy cardboard so if you have a child that is just at the point of trying to turn the pages by themselves they won't rip the pages. They are also well sized for little hands.

The babies are a multicultural lot with both mommies and daddies represented so chances are you will find babies, and parents, that look just like you.

And since the words are really song lyrics they are easily sung or spoke in a rhythm that children should like.

Too cute! Gotta sing along!
Perfect book for both my girls! The baby is biracial and it's so hard to find anything that isn't all blonde hair and blue eyes! These books are cute, fun and we all know the words! Only complaint: HARD TO FIND! Even here, unless you know what you are looking for! But worth the search!

Old Testament History: An Overview of Sacred History and Truth

An Excellent Basic Reference For Bible Students
I am one of thousands of priviledged students who have sat at the feet of this Godly man. Brother Wilbur Fields blends an earnest love of Scripture with archaeological findings. It is written with a passion for reaching the lost and edifying the saved. Kudos to my friend and teacher, Wilbur Fields.

Excellent evangelical overview of Genesis through Esther.
Fields sets aside the typical detailed discussions of authorship and construction and instead explains the historical books of the Old Testament (Genesis through Esther) from a decidedly evangelical and narrative veiwpoint. Written for college freshman, the book employs hundreds of "study questions," encouraging the reader to use both this text and their Bible. For those seeking a presentation of Old Testament history that accepts the historicity of the biblical accounts and concentrates on the historic and faith lessons within the material, this is among the best sources currently in print.
