This book describes the muscles in the body wonderfully
I just recently graduated from the Swedish Institue of Massage Therapy In New York City. And in my third term one of the courses I took was Trigger Point Therapy. One of the assignment that my teacher gave us was, she gave each student three muscles each to do an oral report on. The rules, we could only use this book. Well, as I started to do my reports I found that This book was a surprising and wonderful reading tool. It was straight and too the point on each muscle, I was greatly impressed with this set of books, I would recommend reading/ or adding this book to any medical professionals library. This book is not just for The massage therapist. On a scale of one to ten I rate this book a ten

Truly A Work That Needs Wide-Spread Acknowledgement
I have been the recipient of the techniques and procedures which are included in this magnificent undertaking. My physician had references in his office taking up all four walls, and then some. However, only this particular text had been seen fit to be placed by his desk, with thumb worn pages and a tattered spine. I took an active role in my own treatment, and purchased Volume I. Thankfully, the physician took my indulgence with professional courtesy, and we both worked to achieve our desired result. A chronic situation was eleviated in three (3) sessions, and has not returned in over ten (10) years. The practicality of this work cannot be overstated. The fact that a lay person can appreciate a text that is so specific in its presentation is quite an endorsement for the approach taken by its authors. The concept of locating a trigger-point, however obscure, can and does result in formidable treatment of the respective ailment. The processes outlined in these volumes are most effective.

A MUST HAVE, FOR PRIMARY CARE GIVERS!
If you deal with patients experiencing pain, you definitly need to have a look at this book and make yourself familiar with the work that Travell has done! It is well worth the money.

Delivering shareholder value is not enough
Well written, easy to read. Hard acts to follow. You will get to know three successful business leaders. What are their background, childhood, education and career? What happened to their companies when they were leading them? Interviews with each one of them in which many questions are answered that you probably would have asked. The companies are large, global and successful. There is a lot to learn. It is not a cookbook. The authors make a useful summary but when you reflect about what the three persons have done there are not only many things they all did but also many things they did differently. I bought the book because it was listed under the heading "business ethics" in an Amazon search. The book is not directly about ethics. It is useful in that context as it shows that these three leaders through their actions demonstrate having moral convictions. Part of that conviction is to deliver shareholder value but also strong feelings of responsibility for the environment and social issues. Furthermore they have been able, with a lot of hard work, to impart this concept on all of the employees. All three believe that employees become much more motivated and loyal to the organisation when they feel that they are working towards goals in addition to shareholder value. One also becomes convinced that they do not set these wider goals as a public relations exercise or a clever way to motivate people to work harder. These leaders are totally sincere in what they say and what they do.

A great study of leadership and business philosophy
The book gives valuable insight into the way these three ground-breaking European leaders think about business, and how they successfully manage global organizations. The book clearly illustrate the different personal traits of the subjects (the builder, the transformer, and the integrator), and ecourages the reader to challange the pros and cons of the different philosophies. The book reads very much like a case study, and provides an excellent but basic overview over the global marketplace and on how to be able to draw on the ideas implemented by these great leaders.

Inspiring vignettes of innovative leaders
Growth on a global stage is the only way to sustainable success. It is an enormous challenge to grow let alone accomplish it globally. This book provides tangible object lessons on how these leaders have done it. If first-hand learning is best, then these stories approximate that construct.

This is an engaging and usefull guide to a difficult act.

The essential 944 Book
Every 924, 944 or 968 owner or enthusiast must have a copy of this excellent book by Peter Morgan. The book contains detailed information and superb photographs of all models in the series and is divided into logical chapters. The book is also an excellent reference containing details on VIN's, engine numbers and options.

Orginal PORSCHE 924/944/968
An absoulte must buy for the 924/944 owner. the book clearly guides you thru all models from 1975 to 1995, including the Turbos. All photographs are in color and the details of each model year are discussed. The book also includes specs and import numbers. Almost all options for each year are listed, a big plus when checking out what came with your car.

Informative
I have been driving/racing/instructing in Porsches since 1983, and am on my 3rd 944 series automobile. I only wish this book had come out many years ago, as it contains many of the answers to both the 1st-time and repeat buyers' questions. Its explanations of the rarer "special editions" is extremely helpful in determining which model is best suited for a particular driving style. I feel proud to have actually owned one of the featured models.

The Most Complete and Informative History of Our Local Area
Mr. Simon has outdone himself with this exceptional piece of work - not only a great read full of lots or great pictures, but an excellent historical resource that you'll refer to again and again! Nowhere else have I found such a comprehensive history of our local area...

Loved it!
It was so nice reading a book that was about what is still home to me even after not living there for 15 years. Some of the people in there are people I knew when I was a child. It made me real homesick.Love to Aunt Mary she was friends with my Grandmother.

WHAT A BOOK!
Only a person who has been there and done that could capture the rhythm and color of the growth of South Florida. Sandy Simon has put together not only the history of the area, but the feel, even the smell of the past 100 years. Marvelous! It deserves to be on everyone's bookshelf.

Burl Barer really captures everything about the Saint in this book. It is a huge source of information, and everytime I read it I find out something new!

Phenomenal!
Even if you aren't a fan of the Saint, you should still buy this book. It's a remarkable, inside account of how a character is translated into books, comics, radio, tv and film. A must-have for anyone thinking of breaking into publishing, tv or film

Burl really captures The Saint
Burl Barer's book on the history of The Saint is "the source" for Saint fans yearning for more information about The Saint. It is a must-have for Saint fans, and makes for an excellent read, even for those detectivish fans who don't really know much about Simon Templar or Leslie Charteris to start with...

Prayerbook Hebrew the Easy Way
Published in Paperback by Eks Pub Co (1988)
Authors: Joseph Anderson, Ethelyn Simon, and Jonathan Rubenstein
Amazon base price: $18.95

Book is good; tapes could be better
I bought both the book and the accompanying tapes.

The book introduces no more than 10 vocabulary words, a grammatical concept, and reading from a prayer. By the time you're finished, you understand basic constructs of Hebrew thought, and several important prayers, including the Sh'ma, the Aleinu, and V'ahavtah.

It presupposes only that you know basic Hebrew pronunciation of the alefbet and vowels.

I really like the book, but I'm disappointed with the tapes, which I would have preferred to have been read by an Israeli speaker. Still, I may be too picky on this aspect, since it's designed to help you with prayer, and not with getting along in Israel. One thing that might help is if the tapes separated the grammar lessons from the prayers. I would be willing to listen to a tape of prayers in the car, just so I could get an idea how they sound, especially if the prayers were chanted.

Fear-free!
As a child, I tried to learn and it didn't stay with me. What did stay was a fear that understanding prayerbook Hebrew was something I couldn't do. Well, judging by the excellent reviews, I bought this book. And lesson one made me sigh with relief. I *can* learn this!

Please note that you need to know the Hebrew alphabet but then you can move right along.

Very Easy-to-Learn Hebrew Manual
This book does not require any complicated grammatical prerequisites. You don't have to have headache to cram up the declension and the conjugation of the nouns and verbs. If you just follow the lessons, you will soon be accustomed to the practical Hebrew liturgy. This is a well designed excellent manual for learning Hebrew for the beginners.

Prison and Jail Administration: Practice and Theory

Provides a comprehensive guide for managing prisons.
Dr. Carlson has extensive background in correctional administration. His book provides the reader with numerous examples (both practical and theoretical) for managing correctional facilities. I plan to use this text teaching undergraduate studies in correctional administration. (Robert A. Hood - McMinnville, Oregon)

Very Good College Text
The book is well-suited for a semester course in correctional institution administration. Topics are well chosen and the various authors seem to know the prison business. Although the chapters are abbreviated, they all seem to cover the subjects adequately ... for a survey course. I would use this as a text.

Great overview of correctional institution operations.
The collection of authors in this compendium is excellent...they seem to know the business and have a sense of what it's like on the inside of a prison. I was impressed with how the authors have organized the material and their selection of academics (professors) and "pracademics" (practical world experts) who have contributed to the book. Overall....top notch.

Ch 12 is worth the price alone!
I've only read Ch 12 - Designing Web Applications and Servlet Patterns, via PDF online at the authors site. It's worth the price alone - I went to my local bookstore to purchase it last night - but alast the isles are full of MS C# and .NET books.

However on to what I learned from Ch 12 - the patterns that are put into action are wonderful! I've used MVC in the past - but adding the 'Command & Controller' to MVC is a real boon! I've not been successful with pattern books in the past, because they typically do not provide code examples, which I find a great learning tool [ I'm a "visual" learner ]. This book includes great code examples, the graphics are very professional, and helpful also.

4 of 5 stars - I've not read the whole book - I've got to reserve total commitment til then.

MUST HAVE
This is a very good book.
It is a must have for any serious web-application devloper.
It explains well all the subjects you need to know about servlet programming.

Buying this book saves you lot of learning-by-step time.
I really suggest this title.
Finally one book that i'm glad to pay.

This is my forst wrox book but, if all worx books are like this one, for sure not the last.

Amazing Book!!
Hiya All,

I have this book for sometime now, and I think, you can't have a better book to learn Servlets 2.3 API. Specially, the Chap on MVC pattern was very good. I liked the way the book has been written. There are lots of practicle examples in the book. The Patterns have been explained in a very good manner. But my favourite is Chap 8. Its downright interesting that how you can combine a database with a JSP page to create a Web Apps. I had some problems in Running the code and had to take the help of Wrox People, But I managed it with there help. Overall, a dependable book.

The best World Music's Guide released since today
Walk inside the universe of World Music is not easy. You have the feeling to moove in a jungle of names, titles and unknown instruments. A Guide is necessary to understand and help you for orientation. This book is good for primers and experts, speaking about generes, origins, musicians and their best records. From the 1994's first edition the new release is more rich and reflects the high number of World Music records released in the last five years. I think you are in presence of the best guide you can buy today on the matter.

A superb survey of African, European & Middle East music.
World Music appeared in 1994 and became a fine resource: here is the first volume of a 2-volume edition; this first volume covering Africa, Europe and the Middle East with expanded musical references, over 80 articles from experts, extensive discographies organized by country and photos and directors of world music labels and specialty stores. An outstanding reference and a 'must' for avid world music listeners. Don't miss the Rough Guide Music Sampler CD, which provides a satisfyingly diverse sampler of some of the most famous names in world music from Carlos Gardel's tangos to Inti-Illimani's Andean sounds and the Soul Brothers' special South African beats.

A World Music Bonanza
I am biased: I love the Rough Guide series of CDs. They have opened my ears and mind to worlds I not only never knew existed but also couldn't have imagined. This revision and expansion of the original Rough Guide to World Music is dazzling in its diversity. I agree with the first reviewer about its strengths and weaknesses. However, if you love the exploration of music and are willing to acknowledge that no encyclopedic work can but scratch surfaces, you'll love this book.
