Dig deep to find freedom from the pain of your past!
This is an incredible book! Take the time to complete the exercises, you will not be sorry. Some of the tasks seemed mundane but when I was finished, I felt lighter. For me, this book was more effective that 5 years of psycho-therapy combined with anti-depressants. I have FINALLY achieved freedom from my childhood traumas!!
What I was feeling is okay!
I purchased this book on a wednesday and had it finished by sunday. I couldn't put it down, it had covered many of the feelings I was going through and it made me not feel so alone in my battle to get on with life. It has many techniques that I was reluctant at first to try, but I am glad I did. I honestly didn't realize I had issues with so many people rather they were big or small it didn't matter. They still hurt me regardless. I can accept that now. When the book sets the stage for all the phases you go through to reach forgivness I found myself a little bit in each one along the way.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is merely questioning what is causing or creating a certain feeling. It expounded on feelings that I had but could not describe adequatly enough to begin dealing with them.
Thank you to the authors.
Genuine, clear and very helpful!
The author writes in a very clear and unpretentious manner. He simply states what is and what is necessary to heal. In a uncomplicated and genuine tone Dr. Simon makes you feel that there is hope and your aren't a bad person for being 'stuck'. I read the book as voraciously as I wouold have a novel finding compassion for myself as I read. It is very simply a great book.

Jason Voorhees has never been so terrifying!
Crystal Lake is once again the sight of unspeakable terror. Simon Hawke takes us further into the mayhem with his brilliant novelization of the movie FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3. A group of college students out to spend a quiet weekend in a summer cottage on Crystal Lake find themselves in the vengeful grasp of Jason Voorhees, a brutal hockey-masked killer who slaughters anyone who enters his territory. One by one, the teens are picked off until only one is left to face the killer. This is a must for fans of the series and is guaranteed to keep you up all night!
Follows the 1982 film to the exact.
This is yet another entertaining film. This book differs from a previous book published in 1982 (which features stills from the film). This book features the ending as seen in the film: Chris is pulled into the lake by Mrs. Voorhees. The earlier book featured the cut ending which had Chris running up to a cabin and Jason cutting her head off - then she wakes screaming in the police car. Overall, though, Simon Hawke's book is the superior of the two. If you have either book, though, keep it - they are considered collector items.
This is one of the best out of the series
This Book difers from the book a little after each kill it describes a calming over jason it's exactly like the movie I think Better!

Gathering in the Sun: An Alphabet in Spanish and English
This is a must have for any chicano especially with kids. It is a magnificant piece of art that allows us to talk to our kids and others about our latino heritage in the agricultural fields of America. I bought this book because I am a fan of Simon Silva's art work and this book is like having a selection of his prints to display on the coffee table instead of the wall. It is a great conversational piece as art or history, as a tool to teach our personal heritage or as an educational piece for those of different ethnic backgrounds, and last but not least it is great for young and old. I love it!
A Work of Art
This book is not only a wonderful cultural asset it is very pleaseing to the eyes and the spirit. Children will learn valuable knowledge about the cultures the surround us and not even know they are leaning, beacause of all the beautiful drawings. You will read this again and again. I often use just one page in storytime and it sparks a whole hour of interest.
CAPTIVATING!
In this alphabet book, the author combines an alphabetic list of bilingual poems depicting themes of harvest, work, values, and home that both honor and celebrate the lives of migrant farmworkers. The book describes Spanish traditions and the Mexican heritage of the farmworkers with their families while introducing the letters of the alphabet in both English and Spanish. Each poem is presented first in Spanish and then in English. Zubizarreta's English poem on each page is not an exact word for word translation of its Spanish counterpart, but it translates the mood and essence of the original Spanish poem's message. Each Spanish target word describes how the plant, fruit, vegetable, person, or feeling relates to the lives of the workers. The illustrator, Simon Silva uses vibrant paintings portraying their farmlands and lives at work and at home. This alphabet book has great significance, because the poetry gives voice and pride to the experiences of Hispanic agricultural workers. The poems give strong mind pictures by using descriptive words that are attractive and meaningful to the experiences of the farmworkers. This book should be read aloud to a bilingual group of students by a reader who can skillfully use both languages to communicate the moods, otherwise maybe just one language should be read at a time. Adults as well as children will appreciate the poetry and artwork as well as the music that supplements this collection by Suni Paz. She captures the "Hispanic heart" with Spanish guitar music repeating phrases from the Spanish poetry.

Brilliant Filth
I read a whole lot of erotica, and Simon Sheppard's is some of the best I've found. It's brainy as well as very sexy, entertaining, and sometimes touching. His stories touch on everything from gay history to Hinduism, yet never lose their focus on queer desire. I first ran across his work in one year's Best Gay Erotica collection, and that story is in Hotter Than Hell, as well as pieces that have appeared in the Best American Erotica series.(He's in this year's editions of the "Best" books, too.)
Everyone's entitled to an opinion, of course, but I guess the bashing critic from Pennsylvania would rather be reading mindless stroke stories than genuinely excellent storytelling. Oh well--my judgements are shared by such topflight writer/editors as Felice Picano and Susie Bright, so I feel comfortable in saying that Sheppard writes great, sexy stuff, well worth a read.
You will read this from cover to cover!
Every story in this collection delivers. If you're looking for great male/male eroticism you won't want to miss this book. Lots of passion, insight, lust, humor--you name it. These stories will stay with you. They are hot.
Great 'Bed Time' Reading
Simon's characters run the gamut from Boy Next Door Types to Men of the Cloth. The storylines are original and provocative. The sex is hot and descriptive and the men are as varied as the plots--not every guy has a "swimmer's build" and you won't find such stereotypical men in Hotter than Hell. In fact, the only title that might have been better than Hotter than Hell would have been Hotter than Fire!

Exquisite
Surprising, moving, magical. Brenner's photographs speak volumes. I was most moved by a picture that includes not a single Jew. It features instead a panoramic shot of the main street of Billings, Montana, the citizens of which had filled the streets, each holding a menorah aloft in protest against a violent attack on a Jewish resident's home. A book that claims to, and succeeds at, framing the diversity of American Jewish experience also succeeded in reaffirming my faith in the decency of humankind.
The Jews do not control the banks, newspapers and movies.
All stereotypes are broken with this unique view of a people and their eclectic influence on the American scene. The mostly black & white panoramic viewpoint maximizes the visual impact. The outstanding photo technique, large page size and strong composition make this a center piece of your home coffee table books to be enjoyed for years to come. I only wish several pages were devoted to the actual technical aspects of the shots
Stunning photographs of Jews in America and American Jews
This oversize coffee table book caught my eye in the bookstore. With a price of $67.50, its gotta be great to sell -- and it is. The photographs are truly outstanding and many outlandish. Jews on Harleys in front of a synogoge in Florida, Holocaust survivors visiting LA's holocaust museum, and a family of persian, jewish immigrants seated on a flying carpet in their neighborhood. The best part of this book is not that the photographer manages to capture the diversity of jews in the states but that each of the pictures he presents is stunning in its own right. Brenner managed to gain access to an unbeliveable number of private, Jewish forums, from Jewish Civil War buffs who get together in costume to re-enact period battles to Lesbian Jewish families, the collection is fresh, provocative, and rich

Quality Historical Fiction for the Younger Set
The Girlhood Journeys series, written in the late '90's, is something that I've long wanted to see -- a series of books about kids in different historical periods, that talks about what their life was really like. This book fits the bill perfectly: Juliet is a freeman's daughter in medieval England, and her friend is the manor-holder's daughter. There is an excellent contrast shown between Juliet's lifestyle and that of her friend Marguerite. The book also has an excellent lesson about honesty ... teaching the importance of this value without preaching about it is perfectly executed here.
I'm a reenactor by hobby, and wish that books like this had been available to me when I was a young girl growing up. Parents who want their daughters to have a sense of history while still being entertained by good story lines should definitely investigate the Girlhood Journeys books.

Bootlegers Dream
For anyone who has a modist size Zeppelin collection of live recordings this book is a must, It has an incredible breakdown of hundreds of shows including track lists and commentary on the play quality as well as remarks on Robert Plants witty comentary between songs. I found myself going back and listening to many of my bootlegs to see how the author's opinion of concerts compared to mine. It was also nice because It helped straighten out some of the songs from the compelation discs I have, correcting the perpatraitors generally incorrect slipsheets and liner notes.
All you need to know about the BEST live Rock-n-Roll band
Dave Lewis and Simon Pallett have provided readers with a treasure: a look at every known live performance of the world's greatest rock band, Led Zeppelin. The book is full of reports of what, where, and when the band played, how good the concert was, concert facts, and many samples of the wisdom of Robert Plant. They even recommend the best bootlegs, perfect for us die-hard Zepp fans. The authors also include innumerable concert photos, many of which don't appear in other books. Any Zeppelin collection is incomplete without this book.
Excellent and detailed history :setlists, photos, and more.
This book is a dream come true for any Zep fan. The set lists and descriptions of every Led Zeppelin performance are great. If you are not sure exactly when or where you saw that Zep concert, this book has the information you need. Loads of pictures of the band, venue posters, backstage passes and more. Looks great on the coffee table too.

Murder by numbers
I thought that it was a very good book on the subject, the author demonstrated a professional view that is lacking in other books in this catagory. All in all very informative.

Where other books stop this one continues
This books introduces the more advanced Java topics, wich are mentioned in other books but never explained. This book explains these topics in clear and easy to understand way. If i see a Sybex book i mostly leave it in the bookstore, but this book is ok to pick up!
Fab...fab...fab...fab...fab...fab...fab...fab...fabulous!!
This is definitely one of the better (a lot better!) books on Java I've bought so far(I've got about 10 others). Explains difficult topics well. I use a more general book on Java for a general view of the language/classes and I use this one for more difficult topics which a lot of books only mention but do not explain. The use of diagrams and figures together with easy to follow explanations gives a better understanding of Java topics like streams, threads and networking.
Very detailed and specific look at Java features
After taking a class from Phil, I went ahead and bought his book. I have found it to be one of the best resources for general Java matter, as well as in depth discussions on advanced technologies. A+ Phil.
