An excellent and insightful perspective
Dorries does an excellent job of settling an age-old Christological controversy through his thorough overview of the contributions of this relatively unknown Scottish theologian and pastor. His reading of the church fathers and the reformers adds credibility to the author's consideration of this central tenent of the historic Christian faith. A provocative and compelling read for enquiring and thoughtful readers.
Essential French

The word "essential" says it all!
I took this book with me while visiting my sister and her family in Paris this Fall. It was so "essential" that the French kids (and adults) over there used it to learn English! They got a real kick out of it because it contains common phrases that everyone uses during the day! It focuses on everyday things to say and not the grammar etc. The pronunciations of words was VERY helpful as well! I highly recommend this if you are traveling to France and not so comfortable with your French! Now I need to find the "Essential English" from the French point of view for all of them!

An entertaining biography of P. T. Barnum
I read this books several years ago, and found it very amusing. It not only tells Barnum's story, but it also gives background on the lives of the different people associated to him, like midget Tom Thumb. Recommended.

First 100 Words in French
This is a delightful book! The pictures are darling, and the selection of basic vocabulary words is perfect for a young reader learning a new language. I especially like the pronunciation guide in back of the book. It can really help parents/caregivers along in correct pronunciation. There's also a little "find the duck" game on each page that adds to the fun. If you're interested in teaching a young child French, this is a great starter book.

Incredibly Helpful...
This book is incredibly helpful from children ages 6 all the way up to adults. You can be in French 1 in high school or AP French in college. No matter which way you go, this book helps you review for all the common French words that no tourist should be without. What's that word for watermelon? How about bathroom? Oh, dang, I forgot how to say tooth! Well, just review the pages of this book and its cute little pictures, and you'll remember in no time. It's also great if you're trying to teach young children their 2nd language, which I recommend, because children learn easier. This book will be fun for them, and for you to brush up on your French!

A Great Tragic Figure
Edward Irving was an extremely gifted Presbyterian minister whose charismatic beliefs lead ultimately to what we now know as the Pentecostal Church. Irving eventually built up a large group of London followers during a twelve-year period beginning in 1822. Irving's biography is a fascinating look at how one man can radically bring about a change in beliefs in the lives of many people and also become a victim of the very cause for which he fought. Dallimore does not seek to pass judgment on Irving, but instead seeks to tell the gripping story of one of the most tragic figures of the nineteenth-century church. A fantastic read!!!

Well reseached a technically thourgh, excellent.
This book tells the story of German nuclear research from 1930's to 1945. This book shows the history of the nuclear chemistry germane to the nuclear bomb and then tells the story of experiments and internal politics in the third reich. For instance an error was made in an experiment to test the suitability of CARBON as a moderator in reactors. This forced the germans to rely on heavy water, and the only large scale production in the world at that time was in norway (british commandos saw to that in 1943, a good chapter of the book). More frightening is the lack of safety with nuclear materials used in those days. One photograph shows british and american intellegence officers dismantling the last secret german atomic pile. They are handling everything with bare hands and are wearing normal lightwieght army clothing (not a gas mask in sight even). The first few chapeters of this book give a good history (and explanation) of nuclear chemistry. The author must have been trained in chemistry/physics to write this clearly on it. PS the ENGLISH edition is titled "THE VIRUS HOUSE" (this was the name put up on the door of the first german reactor in the MIDDLE of berlin, the sign was to keep people out !)
