This book makes you think and is educative
I had to give 5 stars to this book. The story, the characters, the "scenary", the writting,... makes you read about 500 pages in a blink of an eye. This book addresses a real problem that our supposed "advanced" society has yet to match. How to we deal with our strong emotions and instincts regarding to sex and pleasure. Repress it, or aknowledge it? This is a decision each one of us has to make several times in the course of our life, but in the meantime read this book and see how a tribe in a lost island of the Pacific did it. Maybe they can teach you a thing or two...
One of the best by Wallace
I have read almost every book of Wallace and have a strong liking for it. In this book he depicts the lifestyles of the Polyneasians. Wish I could have a copy of it.

A great courtroom novel
This is one of the finest courtroom novels I've ever read. Sol Stein, in his book, STEIN ON WRITING, mentions it as a flawless example of use of point of view. Never mind that -- it's a great read! It captures the seamy side of the legal life, it has excellent characters, and I couldn't put it down! Much better than anything that Grisham has ever written. Clifford Irving is a winner -- just about everything he writes is 5-star. One day he'll be recognized as one of our best novelists.
YOU HAVE GOT TO READ THIS!!!!!
I can't believe that noone has reviewed this book. I have read it several times and recommend it to anyone who likes to read.

Fascinating book about two unique and remarkable men.
As a descendent of Chang Bunker, I found "the Two" a fascinating trip into my families past. The book chronicles their lives and the lives of their wives and children in a very thoughtful and honest way. A good read!
Excellent book. The most accurate account I have read.
As a great great grandson of Eng I have heard all the stories that were passed down thru the years. This book captures the essence of the twins and the time in which they lived accurately and without exageration.

Excellent Read!
I highly praise George. S Irving (The Ultimate Bull). It is an easy read, and I was impressed as avid reader! I enjoy reading a lot books, and I must say The Ultimate Bull is one of my best reads for 2001!
George. S Irving is not only a great author but he is also a thrill seeker! I praised his efforts, and I highly recommend his lastest hit The Ultimate Bull... (Wonderful) Five Star***** Captivating and witty!
Rollicking fun-- even for City Slickers!
George S. Irving again brings the wonderful Patrick F. McManus & Favorite Characters to Audio Life in these six stories about the Great Outdoors, and its many complex facets. While portraying a 90-year-old man or a young child or even McManus himself, Irving's narration of McManus' deep thinking and wit kept us thinking and laughing together (in other words, insanely SANE) while on a recent road trip. McManus-- Don't leave home without him! This tape contains the following stories: "The Ultimate Bull", "The Blue Dress", "Ed In Camp", "Excuse Me, While I Get Out of the Way", "The Bandage", and "How I Got This Way, PartII."

An Intriguing Book
This book is a great choice to read for anyone, even more so for those interested in commercial aviation. It has elements of drama, and also limits the techno-babble to keep it interesting.
Superb & entertaining read
Thoroughly enjoyable for anyone with an interest in aviation or human endevour on a large scale. Not too technical so don't be put off

small town life through a boy's eyes
The author shows us the characters in his small town through the 14 year old protagonist, Fid, and he remains very true to this perspective. I particularly liked the device of having the characters introduced as Fid delivers newspapers. There are interesting plot developments, and the details around the presentation of the big event -- the womanless wedding -- are well done. Our book club very much enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to other book clubs.
Huck Finn in Wisconsin in the '30's
This is a very well-written, engaging novel. The title refers to what was once a quite common event in small communities in the mid-West and the South (and still occurs to this day): as a fund-raising effort, all the men in the town dress up in drag and hold a "womenless wedding." The action in the novel takes place in the days leading up to, and following, the Wedding. The hero is a young boy who has a paper route, so he gets to see snippets each day of the lives and the secrets of everyone in town. Although set in rural Wisconsin in the 1930's, the book captures the universal wonders of being a 13 year old. The author has a fine ear for dialogue and the characters are realistically developed. It's all quite wonderful!

holy autopsies, batman!
Wow is this ever a comprehensive book. An indispensible desk guide for any toxicologist, forensic psychologist, or amateur autopsier, this book -- when used in conjunction with the yearbooks through the present (always update your sources, Prof. Sunshine says) -- can be a real life saver. That is, if the people you were running tests on weren't usually dead. Oh well. But that ain't all! No, with stellar full-color charts and graphs plus hundreds of handy photos, your kids will have a heck of a time learning about how Mr. Jones down the street got himself into trouble and had to have his stomach pumped. Don't miss this one, guys.

Understanding the Early Christian Church
I have completed about 13 or Irving Jensen's self study guides on Old and New Testament books of the Bible. One of my favorites was the one on the Acts of the Apostles. Jensen has a way of getting the reader to make connections and realize personal applications as well as to understand Biblical principles. In this guide he puts the book of Acts into historical context both in the political and the religious world of the early church. It was an exciting time for the first Christians, and it is fascinating to relive it through scriptures, seeing God at work in the apostles' lives. The first time I completed the study guide I was working on my own. Now I am going to go through it again with my Bible Study class.
