Magical and memorable
I bought this book for a friend a few years ago, and fell in love with the story, so I bought a copy for myself. I ended up giving the book to my nephew when he was born. Now that I've had my own child, I will buy it again and I look forward to reading this story to her. I like the cultural portrayal of spirits - not frightening-- that they may be spooky but we also take them for granted. It's a fun story, with bright, colorful illustrations.

The best word book I have seen!
I have gotten numerous first word books for my two toddlers, and this one by far is the best. The pictures are fabulous, the words are words that are genuinely applicable, not wierd things that kids never use. The book also has a section with colors, the alphabet, shapes, and numbers. It is well organized and the pages aren't crammed so full of pictures and words that the kids can't focus on anything. There are several pictures/words on each page, but not too many. The pages are thicker than normal pages so they don't rip as easily, and it is spiral bound, so they turn easier. My little boy and little girl both LOVE this book, and I like it a lot better than other first word books that I have gotten for them. It's a high quality book, definitely worth getting!

Great guide to the most powerful groupware available
This book is long overdue for the millions of GroupWise 5.x users in the world. It uses very down to earth language to explain how to put GW 5.x to work for you and your company. There are many pictures of screens to go along with the text so getting lost is hard to do. The help on calendaring is the most appreciated.

Say goodbye, then say hello
This is a story that has happened to everyone. A familiar something, or some place goes away one day. There is sadness because a piece of you leaves also. It is then replaced with something new and eventually that goes away too and is replaced with its old face. It is the life process of recycling. This one has a happy ending

Origins and non-Origins
For tracing the evolution of the species, man, down from remote antiquity, this book has few peers. Richard has a flair for synthesis and obtaining and presenting the big picture, no doubt about that. He and others can even point to skeletal evidence of the first speech. We lack, however, any indication of how the fine mind and sensitive soul of the individual, Richard Leakey, arose from the unconscious and obedient tissue in which it finds itself, or what explanation is to be found there of the appreciation of origins. The Greeks said, "Know thyself", and Linnaeus took up the challenge by calling man sapiens, because he must be wise indeed who could know himself. The Leakeys inherited and espoused the challenge. More answers, Richard!

I was favorably impressed with the range and diversity of this anthology. I've been looking for a good contemporary poetry text to use in my classes, and this is the one I'll now use.

comprehensive collection
With 60+ tunes, this is a much better collection than the new Illustrated Rodgers and Hammerstein, which has only 30 tunes and lots-o-pictures.
The only way to get more songs is to buy folios from individual shows or track down one of the out-of-print Rodgers and Hammerstein Songbooks from the '60s.

The contributors generally approach the expositions from a moderate viewpoint focus on scholarship more than tradition. For example, although Ecclesiastes has often been ascribed to Solomon, the Commentary gives reasons why it is likely someone else. However, in instances like these the contributors to a good job of giving both points of view and not forcing one idea on the readers. Thus, I have found it to be an excellent source when open-mindedness is desired.
